Legacy Frameworks

I took a Hub Generator/​wheel building class with Levi of Legacy Frameworks. I always thought it would be a complex process, but Levi broke it down to basic components, concentrating on teaching me how to do it so I could do it myself, rather than just a one off class to get the hub generator hooked up and working. Levi’s a calm soft spoken guy, which really helps when you are spending hours doing repetitive work, and perhaps redoing that work after you mess up during that learning curve. I wanted to upgrade the components for the class, and he quoted prices way lower then other shops. The price I paid for the class and upgrade to a SON/​Edelux setup was less than the price I would of paid someone to do it, and I learned how to do it myself in the process! I couldn’t be happier. I thought I would reuse my brake rotor, but he had a new one sitting around and gave it to me free of charge. The experience was enlighting, I can only hope one day I could afford a steel disc brake gates carbon drive masterpiece from him in the future. Another thing– The shop space is rad. Go for a visit.

This was my first time purchasing a bike, but by working with Levi I was able to learn a lot and got a bike I love. Levi has been very flexible in terms of working on my custom order, and he’s followed up to make sure I’m happy with my bike.

As someone who hasn’t ridden or shopped for a bike for a couple years, I was very grateful to stumble upon Legacy Frameworks. He then created a timelessly beautiful and sturdy hand-​built bicycle that I’ll cherish forever.

For someone who knows very little about bikes and is frankly intimidated by the bike-​buying process, I was thrilled to come across Legacy Frameworks. Legacy bikes are hand-​built and simply beautiful. Levi (owner/​maker) walked me through the process and helped me understand what works for my specific needs. I use my bike primarily to shoot around the city and am consistently getting compliments on the frame. The fit is comfortable and I have no complaints.
Levi even followed up a few months after purchase for a «check-​up» to see how the bike was fairing.
