Logan Pets

So sad Logan Pets closed. When I called today the new business owners, Your Pets Wellness, said they don’t have any groomers. It signals to me something is wrong. I’m back to looking for a new groomer for my Sheltie. =(

Wow. Talk about crash and burn. From 5 to zero stars. Before they expanded the owners were always around. After they expanded they were never there except maybe toward the end in a last ditch salvage move. Got a bankruptcy notice in the mail today from them. Too bad. Vacuum alert: Whoever opens another pet daycare in this hood is going to reap some serious cash.

I’d give them zero if I could. I boarded my dog here over thanksgiving and thankfully I saw my dog on the web cam and noticed he was limping very badly and wasn’t putting any weight on his right paw. I called immediately, was put on hold and given some vague story about how another dog «got aggressive» and bit my dogs paw. He’s an 80 lb (at least he was 80 lbs when I dropped him off) German shepherd. I don’t know how another dog could have injured him so badly. They reassured me REPEATEDLY that his paw wasn’t broken, there was no puncture wound and he was still eating normally.
Well, the vet determined in about 10 seconds that his paw was broken and he had lost 7 lbs while there. Nobody called me after the incident, I had to call them. When I called back every day after that to check in I was being reassured daily that it wasn’t broken and he was fine. The owners were out of the country and I didn’t get a call from them until at least a week later and gave me some sorry excuse about the other dog biting paws when he plays and that Someone was going to call me, but I called first. He didn’t even apologize, just made excuses for the incompetence.
They offered to pay for the vet bills. But here I sit with over $ 800 in vet bills after my dog was in a full leg splint for 8 weeks and find out they are out of business suddenly. Phones are disconnected and emails get kicked back.

Logan Pets is no longer the place I love for my doggie Roscoe’s needs. Every time you look up someone has quit at this place. My dog’s food is NEVER in stock and my dog doesn’t enjoy daycare here at all!!! A couple months ago I had a grooming incident where I told the owner to tell the groomer not to groom my dog until I arrived to give instructions. 30 minutes earlier than his appointment time I found that he was taken out of daycare and already cut the way I didn’t like. Even though the problem was taken care of this place lacks serious communication. I was also lied to about what happened to my favorite groomer after she quit and told she moved to a different state when in fact she works not far so her new place of business wouldn’t get Logan Pets customers.

I’ve taken my cat here for grooming and she was returned with a wonderful cut. This review is for boarding specifically. During the holidays, I needed a place to board for a quite lengthy time (11 days). Because of the great service I had received for her grooming, I expected my cat to be well taken care of. After picking up Dori and the bag I had left with all her things, I realized that about half the food I had left had not been given to her. Logan Pets requires each day’s food to be portioned out in individual containers and labeled with the pet’s name, date and time of day to be given. I left a labled container of dry food and a small can of wet food for each day. Feeding directions could not be made more clear! I was horrified to realize how underfed my cat was for such a long period. I had called about halfway into the stay and was told my cat was doing fine. Nothing about a lack of appetite was mentioned. When I called Logan Pets after seeing the massive amount of food that was not fed to my cat, I was told pets may eat less when boarded and was given a lame apology for having forgotten to give the wet food. I am still awaiting a call from the owner but will not be taking my cat here for either grooming or boarding.

My go to place to get my Shih-​tzu groomed. They are always friendly and sweet! Best part us its close to home!

Thankfully and with great happiness I received a very caring, courteous, length and patient phone call from one of the owners, Carlos.
Carlos offered to refund my vet bill and also refund me any expenses paid at Logan Pets. Above and beyond what I was hoping for. He also explained his side of the situation, the mix of communication errors and a hand on heart apology for what, to me, appeared to be a rare negative experience at his business.
I’m sad that what happened, has happened and I’m sad it took as long as it did for this to be resolved… BUT the way it was handled when Carlos finally got in contact with me has really impressed me and restored my faith in the fact that they put their values and the pets health and well being first.

I would recommend Logan Pets for grooming and boarding. It can be a very stressful time when boarding your pet but I have had great experiences with them in the past and while I am on vacation, I know he will be well taken care of!

I am so happy to have Logan Pets in the neighborhood. I frequent this place to stock up on my pup’s food, treats, clothes and other little things for her. The staff is friendly, they have a good variety of pet products, the cats & dogs that come here are always happy-​looking so it’s definitely what every little neighborhood pet shop can ask for.
Also, yesterday was the first time I brought my pup in here for a last minute grooming session having a bit of a time crunch. I called to set an appointment in the morning at was asked to come a little before the actual time to meet and talk to the groomer about your needs. I thought this was great! Also, the girl on the phone was friendly so another plus.
My groomer was Sheri (I hope I’m spelling it right! :)) and she was fantastic! Her love for animals couldn’t go unnoticed and she knew exactly what to do when she looked at my little pup and was such a great listener. She even makes her own little customized doggie bows for every ‘season’ I believe and I just thought that was cute.
My pup loved her and came back looking fresh and clean (I was also given extra bows to keep and was given a discount since it was my first time)
I’m so excited to travel and introduce my family to such a pretty little puppy– all thanks to Sheri. I will be going back to her from now onward because, hands down she is one true animal lover/​groomer!

This place is not the same anymore, I was surprise to find our favorite groomer left this place and was really nervous about trying a new one. On top of that we were also given a packet of forms to fill out. Which seems to me like I was about to sign my puppy’s life away. That’s not it, the groomer got a little pissy when I told her how I wanted my puppy to be groomed. Therefore, after dropping my puppy off, I was DETERMINED to find Krystyen (our regular groomer) which I did thanks to FB
When I find someone I can trust my puppy with, it is hard for me to trust anyone else. Krystyen is not JUST my puppy’s groomer, she became a part of my puppy’s life.
I’m sure all pet owner’s agree with me on how important it is to leave your pet with someone you can trust.
I will NOT be bringing my puppy to Logan’s Pet anymore because he will be going to Temple of the Dog.

I love Logan Pets. I have had my little dog Pete groomed here twice, and both times, he looked and smelled great, and I’m pretty sure he felt great too … he had a big puppy smile when I picked him up to go home! Logan Pets also donated a gift basket to a fundraiser I held for PAWS, which I thought was incredibly nice.
It is worth mentioning that after I moved to Humboldt Park, I tried out a new groomer that is within walking distance of my apartment. Pete came home looking scared and miserable. We will definitely be returning to Logan Pets from now on. If you have a dog that is a little bit nervous or anxious, I would definitely recommend this place. I believe the groomers are very kind to their doggy clients.

Man, has this place gone downhill… I’d been a client of this place since 2010 but, since they moved and expanded, they are now too busy to return phone calls, too busy to return Emails and now charge MORE THAN DOUBLE what they used to charge for grooming.
Sooo disappointing that this place got too big for it’s britches so quickly.
We’ll be going somewhere else from now, which is such a shame because the two owners, who used to be around every day, are now nowhere to be seen, and their business is going down the tubes. They’re also losing at least one customer.
If I’m going to pay $ 120+ to have my dog groomed, I’ll go somewhere that can return phone calls when I’m trying to make an appointment.

My terrified-​of-​all-​people and terrified-​of-​other-​dogs dog, Satellite, actually tries to pull into this store on our nightly walks, every night, even after they’re closed. That alone should tell you that this place is pretty legit.
We had her groomed here, the first time ever taking our new pup to a groomer. Our groomer was very kind, knowledgeable, and above all, clearly loved being around dogs. Satellite was done in the time quoted, and we didn’t have to pay out the ass to get the job done. Considering how skittish she is, we weren’t quite sure how it would go; but after seeing the professionalism and care put in by the staff, and maybe me underestimating my dog a bit, everything turned out awesome. She didn’t come home shaken or scared.
Great hours, great service, great products. Shut up and go here.

I highly recommend Logan Pets for grooming! I brought my cat yesterday and it was her first time ever getting groomed. She loved it! They did an awesome job and spoke highly of my Nieve. They even threw in a free shampoo to held reduce shedding and it works great! I will definitely be going back there for all grooming needs and to pick up little treats from time to time. They have lots of organic food and litter too! At the end of the day when it was time to pick up my Nieve, they even threw in a cute little bow on her head and bandanna!

DO NOT BOARD your small dog/​Puppy here. I researched quite a few places & decided on Logan Pets to board my 3 month old ShihTzu. He did a day of daycamp to see if it was a right fit for all. His «report card» was very positive and I knew it would be, he’s Very affectionate and just follows you around, very indifferent to other dogs. But still very playful and full of energy, like any puppy would be.
I boarded him on a saturday afternoon, even paid Extra for the One-​on-​One cuddle time, I still dont know what the itemized bill is because I never got one, I paid over the phone w/​a CC. Regardless, I should know where my money went since I got back a sad, timid, Injured puppy.
[after asking 2 times for a receipt, I was finally told, after about 2 hrs had gone by, that they charged me $ 55 more than they should have & are cutting me a check for the difference, and I should take their honesty into consideration. REALLY?]
Even though I was away on vacation, I caught a couple snaps/​attacks on my puppy through the WebCam, starting on day 2 of his stay, and would immediately call LP. They would say the aggressor dog was taken away on «time out» or that the skuffle was broken up. Not much I can do when Im thousands of miles away. Unfortunately my flight was coming in too late for me to pick up my puppy this Sunday, so I sent a family member to, and she was told «oh [by the way, kind of manner] he has a little nick on his tongue… it might bleed» Only that. No Report, No paperwork, no Receipt, nothing. My niece looked at him, but he was very quiet and calm and never opened his mouth. She thought, thats all it was. After a day of trying to keep him busy he starts panting, then she saw how bad the «nick» really was. She called me, but wanted to wait for me to get back so I can assess the situation myself.
Not only was his tongue Sliced almost to the middle of his tongue (per ER vet) but his eye is bruised and has discharge. He Doesn’t lick (affectionately, or otherwise) he just lays around, super sad and will only wag his tail a little when we talk to him. He’s jumpy and now growls at other dogs.
I still hadn’t heard back from LP and its now day 2 since I got my puppy back. — I HAD TO CALL AGAIN to ask about what happened. Not sure why they require an Emergency contact name and number, if they Never attempted to reach them, in what I think Was an Emergency. The 24hr vet hospital told me that had my puppy been taken in as soon as his tongue was cut, they couldve put it back together since it was a clean slice, now its too late, its healed this way.
I can see now why they make you sign SO MANY waivers and are So specific about not suing them. They offered to pay for the ER and follow up Vet visit, ONLY. A «credit”/next stay Free for 2 days is not going to fix my puppy LP!
If you love your small pet or have a dog that is not used to misbehaved animals, Don’t take your dog here. From the reviews I see now, it seems they’re good at grooming, probably the only thing, but definitely Not taking care of small dogs or puppies.
Im very upset and just Pray that mine gets back to his old self, because his tongue will stay that way forever, Separated.

I’ve been to a lot of groomers in my day– but honestly, Logan Square is top notch. I know a lot of people rave about the service of their groomers, but beyond their solid service, I’d say that Logan Pets stands out in three ways.
1. Hours 2. Price 3. Unique Offerings
1. The hours are really, really helpful. They’re open late for us 9−5ers with pooches and open most of the week. Additionally, a few months ago, we had to leave town and forgot our vet (who we normally board with) closed early that day. I got home from work, freaking out that we didn’t make it to drop our dogs off for boarding. We called Logan Pets up, they gracious took our pugs in and did a fantastic job. When life happens, Logan Pets is reliable to take care of your pooch.
2. Price — no frou frou and no markups. They do a great job on grooming and boarding without fluffing prices. I’m quite a stickler with my cash but feel I get great service for what I spend.
3. Unique offerings — the store is great, they have a ton of fun products for your pets (in case you’re running low on food and it’s snowing pretty bad out, they’re there!) but honestly, I loved that they had little report cards for our pugs when we picked them up from boarding so we could see how they were.
All the staff are super friendly and I honestly trust them with my dogs. Great, great team over there.

After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give Logan Pets a try. My puppy is a Maltipoo and the first dog I’ve had that needs consistent grooming. So really, this was my first time dealing with a groomer, as well as his first time.
Logan Pets made our first time at a groomers a wonderful experience. I was walked through every step of what could be done/​should be done and they helped me make decisions about things I really was unsure about. The staff was truly excellent and very friendly.
Our groomer, Kristen, has been fantastic. She’s groomed my dog four times now, and he always comes back looking great, smelling great, and very happy. Since our last grooming, Kristen is no longer with Logan Pets, which is a shame.
Logan Pets has consistently exceeded my expectations. We’re very happy to have found them so quickly.

I’ve never had a fluffy cat prior to this one, and found that getting the vast amounts of fur off of her is quite a task. I decided to take her in to be furminated, and was very impressed with the staff, the groomer, the suggestions and the overall service. I made no claims that she would react well to being bathed, apparently she loves it. Who knew?
I will come back and highly recommend them to anyone!

Frist time I heard about Logan Pets it was from my sister friend. I broght my dog Rex to get groomed for the frist time since he was given to me. I fell in love with the amazing job they did. I would totally recommend Logan Pets to everyone who is a pet owner. They have outstanding customer service.

I absolutly love Logan Pets grooming. Sheri takes such good care of my baby Bear and he comes out so cute. They are super clean and friendly. They take the time to ask how you want things done and then they go over it with you to make sure its just right. When Bear was done he was so playful and happy that it made me happy to know that I have a great groomer. Thank you.
I can say that in the year Bear has been going he will never go anywhere else. Thanks for treating my prince like a king when he is there.
