These guys were great and solved my issues quickly and efficiently. I had a major issue with my furnace and these guys came out quickly and offered good advice /​options and ultimately fixed the problem to my liking!

If you want to be lied to and taken advantage of then these are your guys! Tim operates a pathetic and dishonest business. They came out twice to fix the same HVAC problem which is still not resolved. But they will have no problem taking your money! I would NOT recommend!

These guys are the best! They can fix anything HVAC related they are quick to come out, efficient and friendly! You can’t ask for better!

This review is a bit long in coming even though my first and continuing impression of Midtown was/​is fabulous. I wait to write reviews because you need to know how a company will react when things go wrong, not just when you first buy/​install. I first called them during the horrible ²⁰¹³⁄₁₄ winter’s end. For our new/​old house we needed 2 central AC units to be put into the 1^st and 2^nd floor of a small Victorian house. They were on the spot immediately with their amazing first lieutenant Jarek and started climbing around, into the basement, onto the roof, before I had my first cup of coffee. I had other bids but these guys just obviously knew what they were doing and I wanted this to be done right! It is not nothing to put central-​air into a very old house. Jarek made me feel comfortable. They are professionals and know the construction business well — they are not puzzled or discouraged by anything. (well ok, they said they couldn’t get the old AC unit off the roof without bringing in a crane. My roofers just took it apart and dropped it into the yard in pieces?!) My guess is (no verification for this) that they often work on larger projects than mine. (the crane?) They insulate correctly, cut holes correctly, vent correctly, set thermostats correctly, etc and are able, knowledgable, and have enough integrity to do things the right way. *They have profound and subtle knowledge of the workings of shelter* and were experts at figuring out how to fit large AC units and duct work into this complex Victorian.
I got bids from several companies and Midtown was among the most expensive, but I knew this was a tricky job and decided it was worth it. If you can deal with the very odd situation of having Tom and Tim Walker answering the same phone line but not exactly knowing what the other one has said, then you’re good. I came to like all of them and I trust that as we move forward they will (and already have after storms flipped the breakers) come out promptly if anything goes wrong. Highly recommended.

Four years ago I bought a new Goodman Furnace. Unfortunately, the furnace is pretty much a lemon. I have had numerous problems with it. So many, in fact, that I wrote complaint letters to high ranking executives at Goodman Manufacturing. The result — an extended warranty that included labor. The current warranty I had included parts, but did not include the pricey labor costs the furnace was continuously racking up.
Last Wednesday, my heat went out.. .again. Because of this special warranty, I had to go to the Goodman website to find a certified vendor. I must have called 6 vendors on the list– each saying 1) they don’t travel downtown (I live in the West Loop) and 2) we won’t honor the warranty — Goodman reimburses a small amount and we can’t afford it.
Needless to say, I realized that my extended warranty was pretty much useless. Then I talked to Tom Walker at Midtown Mechanical Corporation. I explained my situation to him. He empathized with me and told me he would call his contacts at Goodman to see what he could do. He had a team of two technicians at my condo in less than hour. They quickly identified the problem (the induce motor was shot) and quickly fixed the the problem when the part came in.
Tom and his team went above and beyond for me. And while he could not honor the warranty, he worked with me to offer a fair price. It really meant a lot to me. And, it restored by hope that there are good vendors out there that aren’t trying to screw me over!
I will definitely be referring Midtown Mechanical Corporation to my neighbors and other condo owners that I know in the West Loop and throughout the city.

I found out my furnace wasn’t working properly, unfortunately I wasn’t sure what was wrong. Humberto who was sent out to look at my furnace explained what he found and patiently answered my questions. He also made some other helpful suggestions concerning my humidifier system. I would definitely recommend this company!

I had a 25 year old HVAC system that was leaking condensate. I decided to replace the system with a new high efficiency system. A friend of mine recommended Midtown Mechanical Corp. (MMC), so I called them and the owner, Tom Walker, came out to my house to give me an estimate. Tom was extremely nice and went through the project with me and listened to my questions and concerns. His proposal was competitive and I hired him for the work. The work included a new high efficiency furnace, air conditioning coil and condensing unit (13 SEER), Ultraviolet (UV) light system for the air stream, and new Nest thermostat.
The installation went well and the MMC workers were nice but I was not totally satisfied with some of the installation work. I spoke to Tom and voiced my concerns. Tom understood my concerns and expressed that he wanted me to be satisfied and sent a crew back to my house to make changes. I really appreciated the fact that MMC stood by their work and wanted me to be happy with the new system.
I cannot be more happy with my new HVAC system and my choice to hire MMC to do the work. They are pleasant to deal with and truly stand by their work. Something that seems to be rare these days. I would highly recommend them if you are considering replacing you HVAC system or have general maintenance needs.

This whole search for a good HVAC company started because my neighbor downstairs complained of leaking water and was convinced it was coming from my AC unit. I called Midtown Mechanical after the previous HVAC person I had out tried to sell me a new evaporator coil saying that it was rusty and needed to be replaced. I wanted a second opinion to make sure i wouldn’t be wasting over a grand for nothing. I didn’t mention that I had someone out before because I wanted an unbiased opinion. The technician found that the drain pipe wasn’t pitched very well (the other guy said he had improved the pitch on it). He replaced the entire pvc pipe rather than just cutting, draining, cleaning, and adding another connector piece. He told me that the coil was fine and just needed yearly cleaning. The tech was on time, polite, and professional. He was definitely more thorough in inspecting for the cause of a possible leak. I will be giving Midtown a call when it’s time for my fall furnace checkup.

Midtown Mechanic Corp fixed some pipes for us that were not up-​to-​code (from our furnace and hot water heater to our chimney). Tom was extremely helpful and took time to answer all my questions. The worker showed up on-​time to fix the problem and were very reasonably priced. It’s hard to find a good, honest company, and I would absolutely recommend this one.

Midtown was wonderful. We had a 27 year old heater go out on New Year’s (of course) and Tom’s crew was there right away with a temporary solution. The next day we put in a new furnace. The crew was efficient and friendly, the new heater is quiet and blasts so much more warm air than the old one. And the price was great! There are 4 units in my building and we have used Midtown for years and will continue to do so. What more could you want than good products, good work and a good price. Thanks Midtown!!!

I called Midtown Mechanical concerning a loud noise that was related to a furnace in our single-​family home. It was very easy to set up an appointment and a 2 man crew arrived exactly on time. They were great about explaining exactly what they were doing and searching for to fix the problem. After about 2.5 hours, including a trip to the store for needed supplies, the problem was fixed and we can now sleep soundly. I received a very nice followup call the next day to ensure that everything went smoothly and that I was satisfied. I will definitely call Midtown in the future for any HVAC needs

I live in a cheap-​ass apartment building where if you want things fixed, you pay for it out of your own pocket or get evicted. Sad, but true. I’ve had Midtown Mechanical come out three years ago to look at my apartment units furnace and they did a great job. Now, I needed them again. Two INCREDIBLE TECHNICIANS came out, fixed what needed to be done and saved me $ 70.00 by telling me that I could return the digital thermostat I bought, thinking that was the problem. (it wasn’t; it was a faulty ignitor switch) I was so happy with the bill and the men that I gave each one of them a $ 10.00 tip and I STILL SAVED MONEY!!! I plan on recommending them to 100% of my friends and family.

I just got a new high efficiency furnace installed with zero problems. I do not have to worry about a freezing house anymore, and my gas bill is low. I just wish I would have called Midtown a few years ago.
