Mobil’s Lube Express

Do NOT go here. They will ruin your car. I went to this place for an oil change and the technician recommended a transmission flush and change. I agreed. He flushed and replaced with the wrong fluid! A month later, the tranny broke. We called them, brought in the receipt, and even wrote them a certified letter, but the owner would not even respond. He would not even agree to meet with me.
We did some research and his City of Chicago business license is registered to a defunct company, so there was not much we could do in terms of legal action. What a snake.
Eventually, we had no choice but to report them to the BBB of Chicago, and to the City of Chicago. BBB has no power to do anything since this business is not a member, and to my knowledge the City did nothing as well — they said they were going to pursue it, but they are still in business more than 6 months later. It ended up costing $ 3000 for a new transmission.
In short, these guys are crooks. Don’t waste your time, spend the extra five bucks and have your vehicle serviced by honest and certified mechanics.
Oh, and by the way, we even called Exxon Mobil — who is supposed to be their franchiser, and they have been trying to get him to stop using the Mobil name on their signage because he is not licensed to them either!
