Nick is trained in a range of modalities, including Swedish, Thai, deep tissue, sports, myofascial release, structural integration, reflexology and aromatherapy. Communication is open and ample so that Nick can best establish a comfortable and open relationship. When working with a client, Nick wants each one to develop a stronger sense of awareness of his or her body. In addition to bodywork and massage, he teaches them how to perform tension release and self-​care stretches along with complementary modes of stress relief.

History

Established in 2012.

Nick has been practicing massage therapy for more than three years now, and lends his experience to local events and locations, including the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in 2009 and 2010, the Gay Pride Parade in 2010, and at Navy Pier and Whole Foods. In his studio, he offers a clean, safe haven in which clients can receive their therapeutic bodywork, and incorporates a variety of techniques tailored to their individual needs.

Nick Vilches’ interest in natural approaches to healthcare can be traced back to his childhood in Santiago, Chile and the influence of his aunt, a «curandera,» or natural healer. «She was one of the first exposures to the power of touch/​healing,» he confirms.

Nick is a nationally certified massage therapist with accreditation through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. To earn his national certification, and to uphold the organization’s standards, Nick passed a standardized exam and continually participates in continuing education seminars and courses.

Nick is a graduate of the Cortiva Institute. He graduated with honors in academic excellence and earned his license to practice in 2009.
