I wish I could give Nicks Pit Stop more stars, I really do. Granted, the chicken which they are known for is very good, moist and flavorful. The problem for me lied in the sides. The French fries are good, but most aren’t cooked all the way through. The cole slaw could use some more flavor and the Mac n cheese I felt tasted similar to a frozen Lean Cuisine meal you get at the grocery store. In addition, the BBQ sauce is incredibly unique tasting, but too sweet for me. Also WARNING: if you order the chicken pita sandwich, say light mayo or mayo on the side. My sandwich was absolutely drenched. Sorry Nicks, unfortunately my experience went about as well as my dating life is going…

I love the chicken pita sandwhich and their new spinach tortilla wrap, it’s always a great spot for a quick bite or for a great dinner with their whole chicken combo. The Mac and cheese is so good and cheesy I always get double. Great spot to hangout and eat well.

I saw this deal on Groupon. So, today I decide to stop in and see what the fuss about this chicken. When I walked in the door there was no customer service greeting welcoming you. OK cool. Let me order my food so I can see how great this chicken and pita bread that I heard about that was full of flavor. Yummy. I love charbroiled chicken with pita bread. I placed my order a half order of dark chicken pita bread and a side of Spanish Rice. No drink please. After I placed my order and the woman behind the counter with a baby sitting on the side of the register rings me up. I noticed that my bill was a little higher. I politely asked her why my bill amount was so high. Wow to my surprise after I told her No Drink she adds it on my bill. SMH. No customer service greeting but I get a drink added on to my bill. Please people pay close attention to your bills when placing orders on your meal. Overall the chicken was not full of flavor. It was dry with no seasoning. The rice was very bland with no flavor as well and the pita was ok to eat. Sorry I won’t be back lack of flavor on the food. I could of stop at Jewels for a bird. But most important no welcome greeting when ypu walk inside to buy your food.

I try to visit Nick’s every so often when I feel like splurging a little on some of the very best mac & cheese in the city, seriously. The roasted chicken — usually via pita wrap for me — is also quite scrumptious as is the cole slaw. Not to mention, the overall value of Nick’s is tough to beat in Bucktown. Give it a try!

I’ve dined here 3 times. We always get the whole chicken and two large sides with bbq sauce and pita bread. My only complaint is the white meat is always dry so I advise you to avoid ordering it here. They have great side dishes. I’m very found of the Mac and cheese and the green beans. Service is always nice and quick

I wish could give Nick’s 6 stars!!! This is the BEST roasted chicken I have ever had. The seasoning is perfect, it’s not over or under cooked, the sides are great and THE best coleslaw I have ever had. I’ve lived in Chicago 5 days and ordered dinner from Nick’s twice. They will know my address in no time. If you love great chicken, you won’t be disappointed!

I’m a charbroiled chicken addict. There, I said it. I could eat charbroiled chicken everyday if given the chance. Nick’s is favorite of the bunch. I order delivery here via Grubhub probably way more than I should, but I have no shame in loving their chicken. There’s something spectacular about perfectly roasted chicken paired with pita bread and sides. The pita bread is fantastic and addicting as well. My go to order is ½ white chicken combo with corn and beans as a side. This usually gives me two meals to enjoy my favorite chicken. I love, love their corn. Recently, it’s been a little saltier than normal, but otherwise, it’s still delicious. It’s like crack corn for me. Their other sides are solid too. Also, their BBQ sauce is good too. It’s a bit tangy and vinegary as a nice contrast between the chicken. As far as charbroiled chicken goes, this is my go to place. Juicy chicken paired with soft, fluffy pita and mouthwatering corn keeps me coming back again and again.

I frequently eat here and have yet to have a bad experience. I was so sad when I saw their original location closed down but thrilled when I discovered it was only because they were moving down the street a bit. I finally got to try this place out and have been hooked ever since. I usually order the ¼ White Chicken(Quarter white, charbroiled breast and wing. Served with warm pita bread and your choice of hot sauce or barbecue sauce.) which is under 7 bucks. I sometimes get their mac and cheese and end up putting some of that, chicken and their bbq sauce on top of the pita bread, then go to town. I don’t know how they do it but their chicken is perfectly cooked every and any time I have decided to get take out from here. Great prices, great food and of course great location being in Bucktown on Damen, takes me less than 5 mins to walk here. Thank you for existing and I will continue to eat here until I explode or something.

Consistently good! So glad they only moved half a block away and not out of the neighborhood like Babylon(still miss their special Friday 99 cents falafel sandwiches.) We get a whole chicken from Nick’s about once a month to take home and eat it for about a week. Nothing fancy, just delicious grilled chicken and fluffy pita bread. Never had their sides, but I have seen them preparing platters for the workmen who frequent the place. HUGE portions! Their prices have increased a couple of dollars since their move, but it is still a good deal for a really tasty, tender, perfectly spiced chicken. Highly recommend.

Perfectly spiced chicken as part of the whole chicken meal. Had the Mac and cheese as well as the rice as sides. Mac was standard, rice was decent. Chicken really stands out. You don’t need a sauce for it at all. Pita is plenty and fluffy goodness. The BBQ sauce is not your sweet and sticky but rather runny and tangy with a spicy body. Not my cup of sauce but I can see why people like it. Again, chicken holds its own so its worth a visit, especially on a chillier rainy spring day. Soup is hearty and warms the bones. Should you have a seasonal cold, best fix for it is a cup of the soup!

Great moist and tasty chicken but BEWARE on double charging of the tax amount. I called them on it yesterday and that’s probably the last time I go there. Always wondered why the amount was a bit higher than I’d expected. Ordered through Grubhub(cash for pickup) and an $ 8.98 sandwich + .83TAX = $ 9.81. She then added on another .83. I kept showing her that the tax was already added on and all she would say is I owed more tax. Grub Hub agreed with me and will contact them but I’m uncomfortable going back. Oh well, there is always Nick’s 2 on Lawrence(their items are the original price of Nick’s on Damen(3 — 4 months ago) before the increases.

Five stars for great food and many years of consistency. For a while I went on an Art of Chicken kick but really Nick’s wins my heart over for being delicious and always quick. I’ve never waited more than 2 minutes for amazing chicken. I also love the soda fountain — a must for a dining experience meant to be under 25 minutes from order to completion of meal. If you ever need validation that it’s good, look around and note the number of uniformed officers.

Discovered this great little chicken spot a few months ago and became instantly hooked. Delicious char-grilled chicken that was moist and succulent on the inside with a nice flavorful crispy skin on the outside.

Good spot for chicken. Used a few groupons here and had the chargrilled half chicken with mac n cheese– crispy skin, tender meat, and very satisfying. Also had their white meat chicken pita, which is a perfectly healthy and filling fix for lunch or dinner– especially if you get salsa instead of the mayo. Service is quick and friendly and people mostly come in to pickup orders, so there’s always a quiet spot to sit and enjoy your meal.

Great little spot on Damen! There is seating, but not a lot. While eating here, I’ve always seen at least a few people drop by just to pick up orders. The chicken is amazing — perfectly cooked with wonderfully crisp skin! I’ve been here 2 – 3 times and have always enjoyed the dark meat chicken. I’ve also had the white meat in the chicken pita which is great as well. Favorites sides I recommend: coleslaw, mac & cheese, and the mashed potatoes(I think it comes with chicken gravy. Not positive, but it’s delicious nonetheless!)

Formerly a few doors down but the new location is the exact same great food they have been serving up for years. Chicken rotisserie and all the trimmings, get it on a pita, or quarter, half or whole chicken. I usually get mashed potatoes with beef gravy, very nice a chicken place has that, along with chicken gravy of course. Quick easy dinner for the family to go, or lunch on the spot.
