Parto is by far one of the most trust worthy people in terms of caring for your hair. He emphases in the natural delicacy of each strand. He won’t ever take a risk, and values his customers. This isn’t a salon in which an inch will translate to several inches, they listen to you and will follow the guidelines in which you enforce when dealing with your hair, an awfully hard characteristic to find in modern day salons. I’ve had my fair share of train wreck haircuts, this isn’t one of them. Parto is the king. All hail Parto the Great.

I was skeptical of this salon at first, because I have one that is much closer to me in the West Loop. Nonetheless, my favorite stylist, Madeline, recently came over to Parto Naderi and I had to give it a shot. Any worries I had were immediately alleviated. The salon is beautiful, spacious, and multifaceted. It offers many different services, and most importantly, has appointments so that you can book something that is convenient for you.
Perhaps the best reason for going here, though, is to see Madeline. She is a sweet, professional, and talented stylist whom I followed to this salon from her previous one. She makes suggestions based on what she thinks is best, but will only do what you agree to – no more, no less. Even though this salon is quite a bit farther away from me than the last place she worked, I will continue to make the trip to ensure I have a hair cut that is both trendy and pragmatic.

As a new client of the salon (not my stylist Toni– she gets 5*), I want to see what I’m getting into before my appt this Saturday but your website is obviously not up to date.
UPDATE YOUR SITE and since you have a news/​promo section on your site, maybe actually post «news» topics and real promos.

updating my review: This place is laid back and the staff are so friendly. could use some updating downstairs but that has nothing to do with the service I received. I will def be back. They even allowed me to bring my 10 wk old Frenchie bulldog since he couldn’t be home alone.

Just had my hair done with Toni. Highly recommend! She’s super professional and took extra care of my hair. I think she used 4 different brushes to get just the right style! Also met Parto, the owner. Had a nice tour of the salon, which is actually very important so that you don’t get lost on your way to the restrooms! She does cut, color and even make-​up! Thanks Toni!!!

I love long hair period. So when it comes to hair cuts, I am always frantic. Well was always frantic until i discovered Parto. Parto listens to his clients and is careful to listen to what’s is most important to us while still being able to use his creativity/​expertise to cut/​style his clients’ hair. So I always walk out of his salon happy and walk in to each visit stress free knowing I am in good hands. The space itself is luxurious, very modern and yet still has unique artsy feel. everyone is so welcoming and friendly and so going to the salon becomes a refined experience and not just a haircut. It’s difficult for me to find something that I dislike… the timing is impeccable, mirrors plentiful, wait times minimal, numerous products for all hairtypes. But if anything could be improved, I’d saying parking can be a bit tricky on the weekdays – but that’s expected of Chicago and there are numerous lots less than a block or two away.

I am a recent transplant to Chicago and did not yet have a go-​to place to get my haircut. I work in the Mart and was told about this place from a co-​worker who swears by this them. First time in was today and lucky enough to get my haircut from the owner. Very clean, very friendly and probably my new go-​to.

I love this place. I have been coming for years. Parto, the owner, is the nicest guy in the world and does a fantastic job. He works every day and cares so much about his clients!
Kristen, my regular stylist, is amazing. If anyone wants a fantastic experience, go see Kristen at Parto Naderi. I love this place!

Wedding up-​do: I’ve been going to Parto Naderi for a year or two. Like their service (Parto himself, Donald, too). I was looking for someone to do an updo for my wedding. Did not want a trendy look. Wanted something classy, sophisticated, but interesting, too. Solution: PHILLIP FOWLER. I had my trial run earlier this week. Wedding isn’t for another month so unless I take this review down or change it, I expect the same beautiful work. UPDATED AFTER MY WEDDING: Phillip did marvelous work with my hair. Looked beautiful and lasted all day, notwithstanding late July heat, outdoor pictures, dancing, etc. I highly recommend Philip Fowler for up-do’s.

I have too many good things to say about the two lovely ladies who take care of my hair. I have been coming to see Kristin for years here, and she always gives me the best cuts and blow dries. I highly recommend her. Not to mention she is such a sweetheart to talk to.
A couple months ago I was really excited when a stylist from France joined them: Olivia. I have seen her for balayage and she has done a truly fantastic job, so I will definitely be back for more! I have tried various other spots in Chicago for balayage in the past, and she really is the best hands down.

BEWARE OF WHO CUTS YOUR HAIR!!!
I went in for a haircut to try out this salon. I am new to Chicago and and would like to find a go-​to hair stylist to keep up with my hair. After reading the reviews, I booked an appointment with Philip. When I arrived, I was informed that Philip would be unable to cut my hair, but that Maria would be happy to do it. I was a little taken aback, but since I had my heart set on getting a cut, I agreed. BIG MISTAKE.
I should’ve known that something was wrong when I showed her a picture (of myself, not some celebrity with a hairstyle that would be impossible for my hair, but one of myself with my own hair) and she barely looked at it. I thought, well, maybe it’s an easy cut for her to do, maybe she ‘got it’. WRONG. I tried to verbally explain what I wanted, and she was sort of dismissive. It was like talking to a wall. I gave up and sat defeated in the chair. I watched as she did exactly what I did not want to my hair. She basically gave me a cut that she would want if she were me, not the cut that I said I wanted. I now have hair that is impossible for me to style in any way other than a ponytail. Oh, and I left the salon with damp hair! She did not finish blow drying it! So I get home, and the more it dries, the more I see the cut and the more i dislike it. I call the salon asking if someone can fix it. They tell me I can A.) Have Maria fix it (but I don’t want her touching my hair) or B.) Have another stylist fix it and pay for another cut ($ 80-​$ 110 a pop plus tip) — which is BS because she was not even the stylist I originally asked for, and I had just paid for a crappy haircut! I will not be going back to this salon, they could give a sh*t about their customers, to them it’s all about the almighty dollar. Perhaps they were dismissive of me because I went for the Pretty City special (40 bucks for a haircut special), but if they do not want that business, than DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE SPECIAL!
On the other hand, I had booked an appt for my friend with Kristy, who also got rave reviews. My friend got an amazing cut, she left glowing. So if you do go here, do your research first, and DO NOT let them pull the old switcheroo on you!

So not recommend going to Krista. Went to her for years but quality has really decreased over time.

I came in for a spa day with my 2 sisters. We made appointments for haircuts and massages.
When we walked in, nobody greeted us because nobody was at the front desk.
When we finally checked in for our appointments, we had no place to sit and wait because there was no seating area. We sat on the blowdryer chairs. There were a lot of celeb gossip magazines which was nice, but the were all old… and sticky!
The floors were filthy, as if the hair-​sweeping-​person was blind.
The «spa area» was located in the basement right next to a loud, obnoxious laundry room. And the spa had its own waiting area… which was gross!
There were brown water stains on the ceilings.
There were crusty stains on the cheap IKEA couch and pillows (eww!).
After the massage, I went to the shower room. The shower room was so tiny… like the size of a Port-​a-​Potty, maybe even smaller like an airplane bathroom! There was mold and hair on the walls!
And the floor mat to the bathroom had a terrible odor, as if it hadn’t been cleaned.
And the music for my massage was TERRIBLE.
To the owner: I’m sorry, but you couldn’t PAY ME to come back here. Please do not contact me or offer me anything to come back because I will never step foot in here again. Just fix up this place for the sake of other customers. I took cell phone pictures of everything that I saw. You are lucky that I am nice enough not to post them.
The salon gets ONE star for its poor facilities but Linda the massage therapist gets 5 stars because she was really nice. Not the greatest massage, but she has great customer service skills. My sister got a decent haircut, but she’s had better.
It makes me ILL that people actually pay high-​end prices for such a low quality place.

Attention, straight men! It’s OK to get a real haircut. Go to Alfredo and explain what you want (or just trust his instincts). My friend who referred me to him calls him «the hair God», and it’s not far off. After years of getting butchered at Supercuts and the like, I decided to bite the bullet and spend $ 50 for a real styling. I never got so many compliments in my life, and I’ve kept coming back ever since. He really is a wizard, and he tamed my cowlicks and other hair «problems». Best of all, I haven’t touched a comb or brush in years — his stylings make it simple to «do» your hair in the morning. You don’t have to do hardly anything!
The salon itself is nice enough — you have what I suppose to be the usual menagerie of characters: a charismatic, friendly owner, a veteran shampoo lady with a heart of gold, perky/​sassy receptionists, a color specialist who lurks about with nothing to do, a few diva/​divo stylists who strut around like they walk on air, and (attention again, straight men!) a stunningly beautiful stylist who should be on magazine covers instead of cutting hair.

I was very surprised to see all of the positive reviews for this place!
Where to begin… I bought the pretty city $ 31 haircut that should have been worth $ 10 because that is about all that I got out of it. First off, I scheduled an appointment at noon, taking my lunch hour to get my cut. As I sat there waiting for a half hour, no one asked me if I needed a drink, magazine, wanted to reschedule, nothing. Once I finally got washed and into the chair, things just went downhill from there. It took Alfredo at least 15 minutes to part my hair. I understand it is important to get it pretty close, but a few strands off here and there isnt going to kill the cut. And to top it all off, its not even on both sides after, so it was all for nothing.
Next, he used a technique that I have never had done before which pretty much felt like «eyeballing» it. He would comb my hair down, look at it from various angles, then snip. After what seemed like an eternity of him snipping various sections, he then dryed it. OUCH. The hair dryer was way too hot and apparently me moving away from it and saying «ouch» or «oh» didn’t give him a clue. I am pretty sure that I have 3^rd degree burns on my scalp now… thanks =/​Once the cut was dry, he went back to add in layers which was a joke.
To top it all off, my bangs. Oh my poor, poor bangs. I even brought in a picture of what I wanted and what did he do? The exact opposite. I now have a really short layer of bangs covered by a longer let of bangs and then even a longer one on top of that. I will be wearing headbands for awhile to say the least.
I actually had an appointment scheduled at the same location for the next day that I cancelled because if it was anything like the haircut, NO THANKS!

While Maria is out, I go to Amy for my weekly appointment– same level of professionalism and consistent customer service skills. If you want a reliable, friendly salon, this is your place.

I, too, followed Krista to Parto from her former salon. I have this to say — if you have thick and wavy/​curly hair, you should be going to see her. If you’re not … get on it.
Before Krista came into my life I had spent 26 years suffering from the worst haircuts you can imagine because most stylists just don’t know what looks good with curly hair. I cringe now thinking back on some of what my hair has endured. I don’t know what Krista’s background is but I ALWAYS walk away from her chair feeling like a million bucks. While she’d never let me leave without giving my hair a blow out, my hair still looks good when I finally (reluctantly) wash it out a few days later.
Believe me when I say that I almost always choose the cost of something over the quality, and cheaper is almost always better. My one exception to this rule is a good haircut. You are definitely going to get that with Krista!

I went here on a Friday afternoon (4pm) for some highlights and Nicole did a great job. I’m not really a fancy salon person, and this is a fancy salon – that being said, I didn’t feel uncomfortable here. However, it did seem like everyone there was anxious to leave and go out for the night, so the process was a little hurried.
One important note: after a $ 100 color job, it costs extra for them to blow dry your hair. Given that it was February in Chicago, I felt like I needed to dry my (long, heavy) hair before leaving, and I was strongly encouraged to do so to see how the color turned out. They led me to an empty station and told me to go at it (more politely than that). I was surprised and acted that way. In turn, they were surprised that I didn’t know to «schedule» a blow dry after my service.
This turn of events was super-​annoying, especially since I don’t blow dry my hair at home (because it’s so thick, it takes forever), so I don’t have any efficient technique. To add to the discomfort, at least 3 chatting stylists were entertained by watching me awkwardly trying to reach the back of my head with my aching arms.
So, I love the highlights, but probably won’t be returning.

LOVE KIRSTEN! i was a little nervous after i left that my bangs were too short, but after i got home and styled it, i LOOOVED IT!
my mom goes here too, and she has never gotten more compliments on her haircuts. She also goes to Donald to get a dye… he’s fabulous.

they were nice, but don’t know how to cut hair. I’ve never been one to cry over a bad hair cut, and even though I didn’t cry after this one, i did have to wear a hat for 2 months until my hair grew out. Luckily, it was winter so I did not look too weird for wearing a hat around for that long. I should have taken the hint and left before getting the haircut, because even the girl cutting my hair was complimenting me on my hair when I walked in, and didn’t understand why I wanted it trimmed in the back.
Needless to say, I didn’t end up really getting what I had asked for. She cut my bangs straight across and super short. That was not at all what I wanted. Just a cleanup for the back of my hair. that’s all I asked for. Maybe this place is better for spa treatments but I will NEVER go back here again for a haircut. I guess I will continue on my search for a good stylist in Chicago. I can’t keep waiting to get my hair cut by my stylist in nyc. it’s getting to be a pain.

Yup. This is where I get my haircut once a month… a place that has «Creation De Beaute» in the name. And you have to say it properly… it’s «Cree-​AH-​SHONE Duh Boo-​TAY» (snicker).
I confess that I’ve followed my stylist, Alfredo Cornejo, from place to place since 1996. I’m picky about who cuts my hair, and I’ve actually only had 5 people cut my hair my entire life (seriously). Alfredo was in the west loop’s defunct 2Salon for awhile, then the defunct Parlor (used to be next to Kinzie Chophouse), and now Parto, who doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
Parto Naderi, the owner, is himself a really nice guy who always remembers you. The girls at the counter are great and accommodating both in person and on the phone. Josefina gives the best shampoo in Chicago, I’m convinced… and Alfredo knows how to cut a businessperson’s hair so that they can tousle it up when they’re going out at night. I tend to wear my hair kind of spiky and mussed anyway, even when suited up for court, and he knows how to make the balance.
The ultimate compliment to Alfredo is that Jacky now gets her hair cut by him — she continues to get the other «stuff» done over at Michael Anthony Salon, but swears by Alfredo now as well.
As far as price and attitude, etc. It’s consistent with every other salon you’ll go to, seriously. And one of my pet peeves is seeing some ex-​frat boy in their late 20’s wearing a killer suit, good shoes, nice briefcase, and what is obviously a $ 5 haircut from Bob the Barber and his Flowbie vacuum clippers down under the PedWay.
If you’re going to try your damndest to look nice for work and play — finish the job — get a good haircut from a stylist. It’s worth the extra scribble.
