Resolve Pest Solutions

Very helpful! I called to get an appointment for a general spray of my apartment, they asked what prompted the need for the spray. When I told them about a bug I found on my bed they said I could just text them a picture and they would tell me if it is something to worry about before I spent the money having them come out. They responded extremely quickly and thankfully it was nothing to worry about!

Yeah, I think it’s time to say we’re not particularly impressed. We hired Resolve 2 months ago to take charge of a rat burrow problem we’d been fighting in our alley all summer. Initial phone contact was great, we agreed on a solution (a few rounds of fumigation followed by installing a concrete barrier to block the rats out. They promised regular, frequent follow-​ups at the beginning to really chase the rats out of their nest. To my knowledge, Resolve came once, and that was after I called repeatedly to remind them that we were current customers. They promised to return in a day or two (weather permitting – I get it, it’s Fall in Chicago!), then I called again to schedule the concrete work. Resolve came, and the crew was awesome – they did a great job and offered a few ideas for springtime prevention. They even found a second access tunnel where rats would easily re-​burrow. So, the work was done well.
However, they never returned to pick up their concrete framing materials (two long boards with nails sticking out!). Furthermore, I’ve already called twice to say that their concrete work essentially just built a nice waterproof tunnel for the rats! The rats have just burrowed a new entrance hole! Now, I get it – rats are clever and will try darned hard to keep their nest. But Resolve has not followed-​up with us even once to continue fumigating the hole or to pursue our request to extend the concrete. They have not offered any additional ideas, either. (Surely other customers have had to fight rats in inclement weather!).
So the work they’ve done is good, and their crews are great. Communication, though, is awful – I’m the one constantly having to follow up and pursue their work. I suppose our job is still a work-​in-​progress, but l sure thought we’d have completed more than two visits by now.

This really is a wonderful company to do business with. I was out of town and was greeted to an army of small ants when I returned. Even though it wasn’t an emergency and they were extremely busy, they came out the same day because it was my only day off. They could not have been more helpful, friendly, or professional. I highly recommend using them. I know I will if I ever need an exterminator again.

Ants GONE!!!
We had a pretty bad ant infestation affecting 3 floors and we thought that there was no way we could get rid of them. My husband searched online and saw the reviews for Resolve. They were there within a few hours and serviced all three floors. They did tell us that our infestation was pretty bad and that it may take more than one visit. However, we saw instantaneous results! We will see one or two ants on occasion but we are very satisfied with the outcome. The price was very reasonable. We highly recommend them!

Drain flies GONE!
I originally called Resolve after dumping a costly and ineffective arrangement with Terminex to rid my home of ants. The tech came out, told me what he was doing and why, and I never saw another ant in my home over the next two years. I recently moved to a new house and quickly found out it was infested with drain (moth) flies. I tried a number of Google recommended treatments but none worked so my wife told me to call an exterminator, so I called Resolve. Over the phone, they told me that their treatment was effective and guaranteed for a year so I set up my appointment. The same tech from my previous house (Mike) showed up, he remembered me and my dog, and the house was treated in less than an hour. It’s been two weeks and we have not seen a fly since. Prior to the treatment, we saw 3 – 4 flies a day and I spent over $ 100 on ineffective products to treat them. I’m sold on Resolve and won’t use another pest control company other than them for as long as I’m in Chicago.

I had a rat problem in my first floor rental unit. I called Resolve based on their previous Unilocal reviews. The service was fantastic. The person who answered my first call spent about 20 minutes explaining to me what the process would be and how they could fix the problem. They had a service person out the same day to look at the situation (the service person was the owner of the company)
Throughout the four day job (which started the day after I called and was pretty extensive. It included digging up the floor and putting a camera in the sewer pipe) the owner, Mike, was onsite every day checking out the progress.
His work crew was professional, friendly and very easy to work with. They did a great job and worked quickly. They cleaned up everything after finishing the project, and were very considerate of my tenant who remained in her apartment while the work was completed.
Best of all, they completely solved the rat problem. They were able to find the point of entrance in the sewer and seal it off. The entire process was very impressive!
Given the amount of time and work the job required the price was more than fair.
I highly recommend this company!

Really great team and people to work with. I had issues with some bed bugs in my building this summer (my worst fear). They were able to get someone out there quickly and I was able to sleep soundly once again.
Yesterday I woke up to what I thought were bites and lots of them. They looked almost identical to the bites I had before. I called Resolve again. They have a 90 day warranty on their work and I knew I was close to the 90 days being up. The man on the phone was so kind as he asked me questions and explained that even if I was a few days outside of the 90, it isn’t a line drawn in the sand and they wanted to help me out. I explained the many bites that I had and they agreed that this needed to be taken care of immediately and they worked out a way to come to my place in less than 24 hours. Long story short, I ended up seeing a doctor because of all the bites and it was determined they were not bites, but rather hives. I called up Resolve right away to let them know that I had been mistaken and they didn’t need to come. The same man I had spoken to on the phone was incredibly nice and said that he was just happy everything was ok and should anything come up again, to let them know. I thanked him again for being so accommodating and working to help me out, even when it didn’t end up being bed bugs.
Overall, this is just a great company and they really care about what they do and their clients. Having pests in the home can feel really mortifying and embarrassing, but they take care of the job and do so in a fair and honest way. I’d recommend them without hesitation for any job.

I haven’t used their services, but I also called and got some great advice on a couple of pest problems we’re having. It sounds like we’ll be able to save some money by taking care of it ourselves, but I’ll definitely call these guys back if we need pest control in the future. Super helpful.

I woke up this morning to find a wasp nest inside the widow of my dining room. Turns out that buzzing noise I heard all weekend was not my neighbor’s construction.
I gave these guys a ring to look into having it removed and spoke to Mike. He had me text a picture of the nest to him to try and identify the type of wasp, and responded «Rather than pay us $ 150 to come out and do a full removal, with this type of nest you’ll be fine just grabbing some insecticide yourself.»

Hornets/​Wasps were burrowing their nests in our back alley. Resolve Pest Solutions came out the day I called them. After diagnosing the situation they took action and told me realistically it may take a second visit to get rid of all of them. RPS worked with my schedule, were professional and knowledgeable.

These guys are tops in my book. When you read the negative reviews, keep this in mind. They’re pest guys and they know what they are doing. Sometimes they’re not the most professional guys. I had them miss an appointment to check something out. I didn’t lose it, I just called them again. When they send an invoice, they don’t have an envelope to send it back to them, you have to go find one. And you know what? It’s worth it. These guys have helped me with everything from ants to rats (outside) and now termites (I know, it makes my place sound bad but oh well). They tore my basement up to peel the carpet back and drill into the foundation for this treatment, serious business. When they were done, everything was patched up and good to go and I couldn’t even tell they had been there. Problem solved. I trust these guys 100% to do the job, and you should too. Just sayin’.

We had squirrels in the attic. They came to deal with them the same day and were upfront about the price and their methods. They seem to have done good work, and they gaurantee that we’ll be squirrel-​free for a year.

*First off — I have not actually used their service.* This is just a review of the excellent assistance and recommendations I received over the phone. As other reviewers have said, this place sets a standard for honesty, integrity, and helpfulness.
My story: I had a mouse issue in my 2 flat and had another company come out. They laid down some bait and showed me where they were coming in. I cemented the heck out of the tiny crack in the foundation, and after thorough examination of the perimeter, was positive that it was the only possible point of entry. So when my tenants said they saw another mouse several months later, I was sure that it had snuck in the back door, as they sometimes leave it open for short periods when they’re in the yard. Assuming it was just a straggler, not a full on infestation, I figured if I could just nip it in the bud and get that 1 (or maybe 2), we’d be in the clear. Since all the other company did was just lay down some bait, why couldn’t I do that myself? But I was wondering if there was a difference between the stuff the professionals use and the stuff I could buy.
Enter Resolve: Mike was friendly and readily answered my questions, suggesting that no, I probably didn’t need them to come out. He told me where I could purchase what I needed, and gave me tips on how to do it myself. How many companies would do that? Most would just push you to make an appointment, without answering any questions, as did the couple other places I called first. If I ever need an exterminator again, I’ve already found my go-​to place.
Addendum: A couple months pass and my tenants say that the bait hasn’t been touched. But after seeing some other stray bug flit by, they now believe that was what they actually saw out of the corner of their eye before, not a mouse. I guess once you’ve seen a mouse in your house, any fast movement, in a shadow, in your peripheral vision, is assumed to be the worst.

No-​show for appt, didn’t return multiple phone calls. Stay far away!

Had these guys in for an ant problem. They did a great job, but their service went above and beyond the call of duty. As the guy, Mike, was leaving, I pointed out a birds nest on the porch and asked for his opinion. He told me he would wait until the eggs hatched (so the birds could survive) and come back and remove it for me, for free.
Long story short, he came back twice, without any extra pay and relocated the nest. Pretty impressive I thought.

Tried to stay local, Big mistake complete Rip-​off! Hired them for Ants all over my house, had no idea how much it would cost. They came and got rid of most of them. They guarantee complete removal from the house, within 10 days, so after 15 days called them to come back to do it again because the ants were not gone completely. 2 hours after the exterminator left the second time I found a large coackroach in my bathroom right above where baited. Called them about it, suggesting maybe dragging it in from another job. The manager was extremely defensive calling it a water beetle (which basically is a cute name for a cockroach) and wanted to sell me their cockroach treatment. After over $ 200 spent already I said no Thanks, I will hire someone else. Got Men in Black from the suburbs, cost me $ 45 with Unilocal coupon and he got rid of ants and cockroach in 1 visit.

No show no call no nothing!
Called on Monday and set up an appointment. I was given s two hour window for the appointment on Thursday. They said they would call approx. 30 minutes prior to arriving at my condo in Lincoln Park. Well that was 10 days ago — They never showed up, they never called — NOTHING! Guess they don’t need my business!

By writing this review, I feel like I’m wearing a t-​shirt saying «ask me how my house was infested with vermin!»
It was — after awhile catching one mouse at a time with glue traps (yuck), my wife and I saw two mice running across our counter and into the vent on top of our stove. It was hard to sleep that night, and Resolve was called the next morning. They were out the same day, very professional, explained to my wife what they were doing, and cautious about the fact we had kids and a dog. (Dogs, by the way, are effing useless at catching mice. I miss our cat)
A week later, we found a gnawed hole in a bag of flour. Apparently, it can take awhile to get all the mice, but we were still concerned. Again, we called, and they were out the same day putting out more bait, etc. They didn’t charge us for the return visit, either.
No one wants to have to call an exterminator, but should we become over run with vermin again, I would definitely call Resolve.

If you saw my other review on Terminix, you know why this company gets FIVE stars. After trying five different companies in Chicago, Resolve came to the rescue.
Because there was no one in the office (which happened with a few of the other companies I called since it was a Saturday), the call was forwarded directly to a tech’s cell phone (BRILLIANT). So helpful. The tech sounded very educated on all pest problems — even knew the name of every chemical that would be used to treat our home for fleas. He sounded like he had been working his butt of all day, and still insisted that he could come the SAME DAY I called at 7pm! He did the job quickly, and even gave my boyfriend a few tips on treating/​preventing this should we ever be unfortunate enough again.
Terminix is the WORST. Don’t even bother calling them first, they will not show up even though they say the appointment is scheduled. Also, I tried Orkin… if you enjoy being completely over-​charged (I’m talking $ 250 for a ONE BEDROOM apt), by all means use them… but you can get the job done for much less.
When a terrible situation like this happens, it is such a relief knowing the company you call will treat you with respect and get to your home ASAP… and that is exactly what Michael at Resolve does. I just wish I hadn’t wasted my time (and took a day off for no reason) by trying Terminix first.

I had a bed bug problem and was getting bitten. My wife and daughter were complaining as well. These little devils are worst then mosquitos. My cousin referred me to this company. They sent a a guy name paul out the next day. He was very polite and even help me move my furniture and personal items without even asking. $ 400 later hooooray no more bed bugs. I will never take a good night sleep for granted again.
paul said to contact them if they returned and they would come out free of charge. The price was cheaper then other companies I called, who wanted to put me on a monthly maintenance plan $$$$$$. No way I dont have that type of cash. Anyways
