We were planning our wedding from San Diego and just happened to pass the store when we were there finalizing our plans. Dan was so warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in. We told him exactly how much we wanted to spend and he gave us several beautiful options and never tried to go outside our price range. The day before the wedding our bouquets from another source were horrible. We called him and he prepared beautiful white rose bouquets. The centerpieces were beautiful and just what we asked for. I can’t even understand the review saying the owner was rude. I can’t imagine that.

I’ve been here several times to buy flowers for my sweetie, and they always do a good job putting together bouquets based on my limited direction and my budget for the day — and are always happy to change up what they’ve done when I need them to. Contrary to a couple reviews below, I’ve never found the staff to be anything less then friendly or helpful — I can count on being asked how I can be helped as soon as I enter the store, even as everybody is putting together other orders.
But what prompts my review today is the excellent service I got last night. I came in right at 6, when the shop was closing, running late and needing flowers for my mom. The two employees who were there, Chris and Helen, did a fantastic job whipping up a perfect arrangement (again based on limited directions; in this case, «rainbow»), and they could not have been more warm and friendly. I walked away in only a few short moments with a bouquet that my mom loved. What more could you ask for?

I do not recommend spending your money here. The owner was incredibly rude for no reason. I won’t be shopping here ever again.

I loved the flowers I got :) super awesome deal and they even made it look so much prettier by adding colored paper and even wrapped it like a present all for me :) def will be back. The staff was super friendly. Be happy and friendly to others and you will be rewarded :)

I walked in and asked for peonies. They said they had to special order them, so I got 2 calla lilies and one hydrangea. Total cost me $ 35.76… compared to other independent florist they were a little overpriced. I am writing this review because the very next day my hydrangea stated wilting. The florist said all I had to was cut the tip with a non serrated knife slanted. And put in water no more than 10 seconds after cutting. Bottom line, I won’t be using this florist again. For $ 35 I expected the flowers to last at least 3 – 4 days. Grocery store bouquets last longer than this and are less costly.

My family sent me the most BEAUTIFUL long stem roses for my birthday from Robert Daniels florist. They were gorgeous and very fragrant when they arrived, and 5 days later they are even more so, not to mention the flowers are HUGE! We will definitely use this florist in the future.

Five star flowers. Two stars for unnaturally expensive arrangements. I’ll split the difference and give them three stars. A high three stars. Robert Daniels Florists has been around as long as I’ve lived in Chicago, so I wonder why there are only a few reviews?
They can do FTD arrangements, but their true customers are corporate, where they don’t mind spending a couple hundred on a lobby arrangement. This is one of the only flower shops in the area, so it’s a captive audience with pricing to match.
I go in here every couple of years just to check things out. I went in the other day; same layout, same card racks, same beautiful flowers.

I walked-​in and asked for a bouquet for about $ 40. I picked one type of flower I liked to start with, and they did the rest. They asked me a few questions to make sure I liked what they were using, and kept adding more and more until I had a beautiful, huge arrangement that my wife loved. And it probably took less than 10 minutes. Thank you!

This florist always delivers! They are willing to work with your ideas and always, always, always make them 100% better than you could ever dream up yourself. For a downtown florist, they are also reasonably priced.

Wanted to find a place close to my office to buy a plant that I couldn’t kill easily. Found this place while I was walking back from lunch and decided to stop in for a look. I told them how my office was set up, asked for something idiot-​proof, and they went to work showing me what I could bring back and would not immediately die under my less-​than-​expert care. I ended up paying $ 30 for a nice, leafy, broad-​leafed green plant in a wicker pot. I wish their selection of live plants was a bit larger, but they were very helpful and the price wasn’t that bad, at least, to me. Then again, I don’t often buy plants, so I could have gotten taken for a ride.
I’ll go back to this place for more plants… just as soon as the one I’ve got now dies on me.

I returned a few more times this month, and I do not understand many of the other comments. Not only have i gotten exceptional service, but also, such amazing, tropical flowers from him, Daniel, the owner. While he cannot guarantee 100% of the flowers will last 2 weeks! Who can! and What does when it is cut off the plant, or ground… but, you can bet he has the most coolest flowers, and such personal service. On my mother’s birthday, i asked him to get several cut flowers, pink and red ginger, anthuriums, as well as proteas. And when i came to pick them up, he managed to get all of them. And, 2 weeks later my anthuriums are still fresh!
On my visit last weekend, a young woman was coming to pick up her wedding hand bouquet, and when she saw it, she was nearly in tears, so overjoyed and how beautiful it was.
Perhaps you need to come on a different day, or speak with Daniel, himself, if you can, you won’t regret it.

I’ve got to say, this place is overrated. While they do offer a lot of unique flowers that look very beautiful, they are unnecessarily expensive. I chose a handful of things to put together (none of which had prices on them) and the lady just looked at each flower, thought for a second, and punched in random dollar amounts on the register while muttering «I’ll give you a good price on these…» After spending $ 90, I expected the flowers to last longer than four-​five days, and three of the larger ones never opened up.
Like I said, they have a lot of nice stuff there, but I’ve spent about 30% less at other independent florists and received better quality.

This shop is the only place i will buy my flowers. I have used Robert Daniels more time now than i can count. I’m not the best at knowing what goes with what or pretty much anything about flowers, so i go in there and tell the young lady (Joanie…very persoable btw…) «i need something big, beautiful, and out of the norm», i tell her what i want to spend, and then i leave it in her hands. I’m always amazed!!! never disappointed. Robert Daniels is the best!

I just received a gorgeous arrangement from Robert Daniels. My BF sent me flowers for our anniversary. They worked tirelessly with him to get the arrangement just right – and it is!
They are the most beautiful flowers with the most artful arranging I’ve ever received. I highly recommend them!

and have local florists deliver it to special someone in my life. I was meeting up for lunch with nice friend of mine; she wasn’t having a good week I heard. If I was back home, I would drove to nicest flower shop but I have never bought any flowers in Chicago. I thought I saw one placed called LaSalle Flower shop near my apartment but it was little out of the way at this time plus I was meeting up for lunch under time constraint. I thought it would make her feel better to be spontaneous bringing her flowers. No, not for earning brownie points or none of that, just because, friends do nice things for friends to cheer them up.
This is very small place with few selections and they happen to be in convenient location. I didn’t think of going in here, it was split second decision walking by, I said why not. I was little disappointed with flower quality, little dead leaves here and there but service was very nice. I been to many flower shops in my life to know they always give you great service so no big deal, they want to make a sale. I didn’t want to walk in and say no thanks and walk out. So I picked out something then I went to this candy store right next to it. I stopped in, got a box of chocolates while at it, hoping it will make up for mediocre flowers. I know from my experience that flowers & chocolate combo can’t go wrong there. I was little embarrassed that flowers were not so top shape. Maybe it was this batch of shipment? I’m not sure but while I was walking 4 – 5 blocks, I opened it up, picked out brown/​dead part of it off like I was playing «love me not game» Funny, yeah I know. I got some weird looks from bunch of people waiting to cross the street but I didn’t care what they were thinking.
Well, you know who you are, you like the flowers I got you, you love the chocolates even more. I have never seen anyone who bites little pieces of each one to taste, than put it back in the box to eat it later. Whatever makes you happy, you asked me if I wanted some, thanks for sharing but you were enjoying them so much that I had to decline. You tried every single one. Oh you made a joke that I was trying to make you FAT or something. I like that joke, made me chuckle little bit, I was going to reply and say. «Don’t eat it all in one sitting» but I know you are sensitive about comments like that so I kept it to myself. Next time I need to send flowers to someone I’ll take the time to look for good place to buy.
