Taboo-Tabou

Okay, I’m a big fan of Taboo Tabou. I can’t say that I know what the name of this place really means. Yeah, taboo is good. But what is Tabou? Whatever, it does;t matter. This is a GREAT shop. They just located from another location nearby, and this is hopefully their final location for awhile.
I’ve been to San Francisco a lot, the home of fetish shops. I’ve been in a lot of them. This is a really good lingerie, adult type shop. Seriously. But it’s definitely upscale. We came in and they greeted us immediately. But more than that, they offered us a nice little glass of wine to sip while we shopped. Seriously? That is so cool.
We wandered through their top floor, which is filled with more of the fetish items, toys and leather stuff. All of it was very classy and good quality. Yeah, don’t bring your mom here, but other than that, it’s so cool. No pressure, no weirdness, no creepiness. Just a really healthy and awesome vibe.
Downstairs is also very cool. It’s mostly lingerie, from the standard nighties to the slightly more risqué corsets and such. And they have a weekly sale on panties of 10 for $ 25. Really? That’s absurdly cheap. I hope they keep that up.
With The Alley closing, Taboo Tabou is all on it’s own. But based on what I saw tonight, I don’t think there is any danger to it. This is a great, classy and up scale shop, and an incredible addition to the neighborhood. Do not hesitate to drop by!

I popped in to check out some toys and was very impressed with Zara (xara?). Excellent product knowledge, friendly and non judgemental demeanor and great recommendations. As a 32 year old just learning to explore, Zara’s enthusiasm and expertise made what I thought to be a potentially embarrassing shopping experience into an educating and inspiring visit. I will definitely be back!

I always pop into here. ON an amazing company that produces arousal gel, just came out with a cooling effect unlike their warming. Both work amazingly. I also purchased a panda kigurumi here. This place has it all. Knowledgable sales people who are there to assist you with whatever you might be in market for and prices are fairly reasonable but still a bit of a buck. But NEVER skimp on essentials. For the kinky or the sweet or first timers this place is definitely ideal. Easily one of the best in Chicago.

My fiancé and I have been here several times over the past year. I have had the pleasure of meeting all of the staff at the store. Everybody there is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I highly recommend this store.

Went in here a few weeks ago and got the cutest vibrator. The girls behind the counter had great class and really helped me out. I also found a lot of the panties super cute– yummy.

Horrible customer service from the girl manager working at noon on 9.28.
I never leave bad reviews, but my blood is boiling after speaking with this sarcastic, uncaring, self-​righteous manager who can’t even train her employees to do things correctly in the first place.
I WILL NOT GO BACK and I live across the street.
Very unfortunate for me and anyone who asks me how the store is :/​
