Target Optical

Just came into this location to have two pairs of broken glasses fixed, minor issues, but issues none the less. Not only did they fix both pairs in under ten minutes, but the kind woman refused to take my money. Nice to know there are some good people out there still.

They did their best to accommodate me during my appt despite being terribly busy. Though it is evident that they cannot keep up with their customer load. At the end of my appointment I was first handed a prescription card that was for a completely different patient. Then when I was finally given the correct one my last name was completely misspelled. Fine, I can handle that. Then when I called today to try and order contacts I gave them my information, first my correctly spelled last name and then the misspelling that is on the back of my prescription card and they could not find me in the system at all despite several attempts at truncating both my first and last name in the search. They couldn’t even find me by skipping my name altogether and doing a phone number search. For a doctor’s office this is COMPLETELY unacceptable. I will not be returning.

Went there to get a check up and get fitted for contacts. There was a slight mishap with my insurance but Frank, Sheana, and Dr. Adas, we’re still so friendly and welcoming. Sheana was very patient with helping me put in and take out my contacts… it was a little frustrating. The staff was also very welcoming to the other customers in the store, knew their product.

I didn’t think much of an eye exam. I just needed to do it quick to get new glasses. But I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and quality of eye exam. The exam was thorough and the girls helped me with picking glasses. They were all great.

I needed to update my prescription from years ago and needed a new doctor. I could not have been more pleased with my experience here from start to finish. I truly felt like everyone there, from the eye doctor to the support staff, was professional and caring. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure I picked a pair of frames that suited me. I will be a returning customer.

The best optical experience I truly have ever had. From the customer service to the amazing optometrist (Dr. Adas) I couldn’t give this place a better rating. I dont have health insurance and it wasn’t too expensive! If you need your eyes checked, need new glasses or sunglasses or just want to chat with such nice people, stop over there!

Came here for the first time today after making a last minute appointment.
Overall experience was fine. My appointment was with Dr. Strickler-​she was really nice and answered any questions I had. I needed an exam because I haven’t had one in the past two years and also needed new contacts. Dr. Strickler was able to give me some samples to hold me over until my new order came in.
If you have a Target Red Card, you can use it to get the discount on contacts but not the exam.

I was really nervous about changing eye doctors, seeing as I’ve been going to the same one since 3^rd grade.
The staff was friendly and Dr. Adas is wonderful! She makes her patients feel so comfortable. I’m glad to have found such an amazing doctor in the city.

I have been to Dr. Adas 2 years in a row and she is great!

They are willing to price match contacts also which is great!
I recently purchased glasses online and they did not fit well BUT the lovely frotnroom staff helped me adjust the gframes without any fuss! GREAT!

I had a recent eye exam here to stock up on contact lenses– which they already had so no need to wait a few days. I can’t stress enough how helpful and super nice the doctor and the staff is here. My insurance was clearly explained to me here with several options to choose from. They even gave me free contact solution. :)

The staff was very nice and helpful… a little unprofessional, but I think they see that as outgoing. I though the exam itself was very accurate and the doc was thorough in her explanation. She even gave me several trail pair of contacts… who doesn’t love freebies. For service and the exam itself, I would give four stars.

My glasses took a little over two weeks to come, maybe because I waited until the end of Dec. I actually never received a call that they were in, I just finally went there after a few weeks.
The selection is very limited and the most of the frames look similar and area typically a trending style (I don’t do trends).
I thought it was a bit pricey. My insurance was discount plan, they took off 100 and added extra discounts, despite my glasses still came to be almost 300 a pair. The ladies were very helpful and patient while I selected frames.
Overall, good places, great services, but limited selection and a bit pricey.

I went there with a prescription in hand. They helped me find reasonably priced mens frames that were also stylish. Everything under $ 250. Staff was personable and i got my glasses in days.

After handing in my two weeks notice at Target, I was itching to use my 10% discount before it was gone. I’ve been wanting new glasses but I needed a new prescription, so I headed over to the Elston location’s Optical after work on a Saturday afternoon and asked if they had any open appointment spots. I figured they wouldn’t, and I should have called ahead, but voila, they did!
If you happen to work for Target, here’s the breakdown of discounts: you get $ 5 off the exam (which, without insurance, is normally $ 45, or $ 65 with pupil dilation) and you can use your 10% discount on frames and lenses. You can’t pay for the exam with a Target Red Card, but you can pay for frames and lenses with it, so that’s an extra 5% off. Also, they had a 50% off sale on all lenses until the end of March. Altogether, I saved almost $ 200. Pretty awesome.
Despite it being a Saturday afternoon, they were able to start the eye tests right away. Everyone was really nice, and the exam went quickly and smoothly.
My favorite part was that the ladies let me derp around trying on glasses for half an hour after the exam was over. Every other time I’ve gotten glasses, I’ve had sales associates follow me around the store and watch me try on different frames while putting pressure on me to buy. I’m picky about the things that are going to be sticking off of my face all day, and that method of salesmanship makes me feel rushed and uncomfortable. I think the ladies here got that I’m a slow shopper, so they pointed out some frames I might like and let me be.
The selection here isn’t the best ever, but they have some great Ray Bans, DKNY, Mossimo, Vogue, Lucky, Converse, etc. I asked the ladies’ opinions a few times, and they were honest, which I appreciated.
Overall, it was a great experience, and this is coming from someone who detests anything that has to do with eyeballs. Well played, Target Optical.

It is what it is folks! Obviously, if you have major eye problems, go to a (real) doctor’s office for care. But if you’re like me– early thirties, prescription has never changed, etc., this office is very helpful. They’ve always worked around my insurance to make sure I’m getting the most bang for my buck, and my husband and I have been happy for both contacts and eye glass purchases.
I’m getting ready to head out of town and my last contact ripped. I just called them and they set aside a couple boxes of lenses for me to pick up. Quick, friendly service.

As a professional procrastinator, I let myself run dangerously low on contact lenses. I needed a place to just run in and out, no hassles. As per the recommendation of a certain Unilocaling elite bf of mine (so helpful those elitists are!) I made an appointment at Target Optical.
I stepped in from the awful rain, only to encounter the comedy team of Brandon and Rhea. Wet and cranky, I heard someone singing the chicken dance song. My mood quickly flipped as the comical back and forth banter between the two optical techs kept me thoroughly entertained. Between discussing the deliciousness of McDonald’s to how «nobody messed with Bugs Bunny», this pair successfully juggled work and fun, and easily turned my sour mood around with their upbeat antics. Cheers to them!
After my initial exam with the darling Rhea, I stepped in to see Dr. Diana Ranjbar. Ok fellas, not only is this chick a knockout and a half, she has a lovely personality to match. Ask for her! She got me through my exam quickly and was very sweet.
The best part about Target Optical is that they have several of the more common prescriptions and brands of lenses on site. My brand and prescription happened to fall in this category, so I was able to leave with my boxes of lenses, instead of waiting for the order. Very convenient! I will definitely be back, at the very least to listen in on Brandon and Rhea…

You can’t get more convenient, affordable, quality service. I’m a fan! I was given a new Rx and got fitted for contacts in ~1hr. I had to come back for a check up the next week and that only took ~15min. Quick, easy & they take most insurance.

Great service, good selection, great price, good people.
What’s not to star?
Been going here annually for five years and have yet to be disappointed. From the salespeople to the optometrist, everyone is engaging and professional… I actually look forward to my visits. AND such a selection of frames, I have a hard time picking just one…(but I have varied tastes).

I shop at Target regularly so why not get an eye exam here.
The staff is very friendly. The 2 ladies that work the desk are on top of it. The prices are affordable. Fortunately, I have health insurance which brought the cost down. Also, I brought my own frames with me so I didn’t have to buy theirs.
The reason I only give 3 stars is because I’m still waiting for my glasses. It’s been 2 weeks today and still no frames. It’s a good thing I have back-​up glasses. My husband & I were in Target Friday and decided to stop by the optical department to see if our frames were ready. The friendly lady that works there said, «they’ve been mailed». Okay. I should have asked, «mailed from where» because no mail should take this long.

I decided to go here for a few reasons. One, it’s easily accessible with a doctor and glasses all in a Target and two, I generally like Target so it seemed like a good fit. Oh and the eye exam for glasses is CHEAP.
I went on a Sunday and everything was fine. I wasn’t crazy about the selection but they had some nice glasses for women but again I wasn’t super impressed by the selection. After waiting a little while for them to get set up I was able to start the exam. The ‘tech’ was very nice… he did make a comment about old equipment which is never a good sign. I was scheduled to see Dr. Magdalena Adas, but got another doctor (I assume she was a doctor). And everything went fine. I did decide to purchase a pair of glasses from them and they sent me on my way with a little red envelope.
I got a phone call about a week later saying they were in and went to pick them up.
I may be a little critical at this point because in the end I’m unhappy with the service. The glasses don’t seem ‘sturdy’ and typically I’ve purchased some generic brands from Lens Crafters or Pearl Vision and have been happy with the final product (for years). These don’t seem well made. They also really don’t fit very well… not sure what the difference is from the pair that I tried on off the shelf. I plan on returning in the next few days if I still do not feel satisfied.
The woman who gave me the glasses was nice enough but informed me that I have astigmatism. Which, no big deal… but shouldn’t your doctor inform you of that not a target sales associate? And shouldn’t your doctor talk to you about what it is and how it’s corrected (maybe i’m just being critical but this is the first time I was informed of this)? When I think back on the day of the eye exam it did seem like she was just ready to get out of there, although she was very nice. And as I look back at all my paperwork (to see if there was anything recorded) I have no written prescription or ‘diagnosis’ only a receipt with my expensive frames and lenses.
All in all, totally not impressed.

I’ve been wearing the same pair of contacts since October and have had the same glasses since 2003 so I figured that it was probably time to make an appointment. I called on a Saturday morning and was able to get an appointment that same day. Which was great because my eyes have been hurting for awhile now. On a side note, stay away from this place on Saturdays because the traffic is crazy. I was within a block of Target for probably 25 minutes just trying to get into the parking lot.
Dr. Ross is the man. Great guy, makes you feel comfortable, and explains everything really well too. The Sales people out front were helpful too. They were patient with me as I sat there looking at all of the glasses. I am the worst at making decisions like that so it took me awhile to pick the frames I wanted (I knew I should have brought my wife to help pick a pair). Keep in mind that their selection for women is about 3 – 4 times larger than for men. It’s a good thing too because I would have been their all night. I also got a great discount for being with AAA. I will be going back for sure… probably in 2 – 3 years when my eyes start to hurt again.
