The Bar Below is all about having a drink and some food in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We strive to be your neighborhood bar in downtown Chicago. We offer a great selection of beer and cocktails at some of the best prices in the loop, or Chicago for that matter. We try to make this the kind of place that you would see in any part of the city, the kind of place we want to drink at. All of the great things that make Chicago our home are right outside the door, without any of the pretension and price that you might find with other bars in the loop. Come in and see us. History

Established in 1960.

The building used to be the ink well pen manufacturer in the 1920s. It became Beef and Brandy in the middle of the last century and the bar below was installed at that time. in the summer of 2012 The Bar Below underwent a remodel and is now restored to its rightful place as a classic Chicago bar.

That is the kind of bar I want to go to. I have been to different bars and restaurants, lived and visited many cities, states and countries. I learned to respect all cultures and people; With that in mind you can be very hospitable. Since 1977 in Wales, UK, I have been serving, bartending, cooking and running a bar, a restaurant or both.
