Roy is the greatest plumber in Chicago, bar none. He’s quick, he’s friendly, he explains things with clarity and without condescension, and he charges a fair price every time (trust me, I’ve paid WAAAY more for WAAAY worse work before).
Roy’s the real deal, a great plumber and a great guy. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

I was in town visiting a friend whose kitchen faucet was broken. Someone at Home Depot referred me to «The Faucet Guy» and I couldn’t have been happier that he did. Instead of replacing the whole faucet, they saw exactly what was broken from a poor quality picture on my phone and explained exactly how to fix it. I was able to fix the sink without replacing excess parts, and it ended up being much cheaper/​easier than I expected. I couldn’t have accomplished it without their help!

Roy was fantastic. He showed us exactly what was wrong, and explained in laymans terms why the work was necessary. He was on time, efficient, and true to his estimate. The work was impeccable, and we would hire him again in a heartbeat. There are a lot of plumbers and contractors out there, but he earned our trust and respect with honesty, integrity, and great work. Highly recommended.

In one word Roy was super terrific! (well I guess that was two words).
I had several tough plumbing checklist items that had to be fixed in order to prep my condo for sale and Roy was the only plumber that I could find that could and would do the necessary work. A no nonsense guy who completed the work quickly and efficiently at a very reasonable price. What a relief! I highly recommend Roy who is one of the contractors for Faucet Guys. He is a great professional to maintain contact with for all of your plumbing needs.

I called The Faucet Guy with an emergency: I discovered my toilet was leaking and I had to leave town in 2 hours! I was hoping someone could come within the hour to fix the leak… and The Faucet Guy did even better! They had one of their best guys call me within 5 minutes, he asked me to text him a photo, and he walked me through the whole process of fixing the leak!
It was a pretty easy fix, but I couldn’t have done it without his guidance. I was able to leave the house an hour early, instead of waiting for an emergency plumber– The Faucet Guy was a total lifesaver!

Needed a small part to fix a leaky toilet, they had it in stock for $ 6 and told me how to repair so that I didn’t break the thing. Very helpful and no hassles!

After doing some rehab work on a two flat home I purchased, I noticed that the second floor shower smelled like a sewer and to top it off it leaked heavily into the first floor bathroom. I called the Faucet Guy and they forwarded me to Roy. He was informative, professional, and quick with the work. I am just happy that the bathroom will drain properly without turning my ceiling into a mold farm.

Expensive!!! But he has much if you’re have having trouble finding an item.
I needed two sets of parts; I found one set at Faucet Guy for just over $ 70, then I found the identical set of parts at Algor in Cicero for $ 45. None of these parts (from either supplier) were «generic», all parts were identical and all were from the same major brand manufacturer.

This is my local go to place for all plumbing parts. After my shower went on the fritz I went to the Faucet Guy for a replacement part. Replacing this shower piece was not going to be a job for the amateur plumber, so I was referred to Roy. Roy called me back to set up an appointment the very next day. My shower is finally working properly thanks to Roy. I would definitely refer him to friends and family. You wont go wrong with Roy.

Went here to find a piece for my jacuzzi tub. Brought in the old piece and the guy quickly found a replacement for about $ 10! Expensive prices, quick service and friendly guy.

A great store & a great find. I had some major plumbing issues in my bathroom & called my usual plumber for a quote. He gave me a quote and said if I wanted to buy my own fixtures (rather than use the ones he would install) I could do that. He recommend to not go to Home Depot or similar big box store, but to a plumbing store. So I turned to Unilocal for answers & found The Faucet Guy. I’m glad I did. Not only did Mitchell take the time to show me (and spoke to me, not my husband — which doesn’t often happen — ladies know what I mean!) the different types of fixtures I would need and the differences in cost. While we were there, other plumbers had come in to buy fixtures, so you know it’s a good sign.
Additionally, he was able to give referrals for another plumber, who could work with a carpenter to get my shower plumbing fixed and the wall replaced same day (my plumber didn’t have a carpenter to work with). Not only could I get it done in a day, but the referral was $ 150 cheaper than the quote from my plumber.
Mitchell is an old school, no nonsense Chicago guy, selling a good product. I’ve recommended him to others.

Granted the Faucet Guy has lots of materials/​repair items for dated faucets/​bathrooms. However his prices are ridiculously high. Since I needed the things right away, we ended up going to him and spending more than 2 times as much for stuff that I ended up finding online that night (but wouldnt have received in time for the contractor to finish up our bathroom in a timely manner).
save yourself the headache and look for things online from other vendors. even with shipping and delivery from amazon or other folks, his prices were ridiculously high. Six dollars for two screws for a bathroom trim plate! WTF!

These guys are awesome and Roy really knows what he is doing. Also, he is polite and explains the situation. I would highly recommend using them. I got a brand new power vent water heater 50 gallon installed by them. Ask for ROY!!!

We have been having problems with our toilet lever and could not figure out why it wasn’t working. Our plumber told us we should replace the whole system (a cost of about $ 180). We went in to see Mitch and took photos of the toilet with us. 5 minutes and $ 8 later we had the pieces we needed and a full explanation of how to install them. One working toilet and two happy customers. We will be back!

I called them for a problem with a shower in an apartment I rent out. He told me it would be $ 700 to fix or else he’d have to rip the tile out which would end up costing about the same. I asked why so much, and he said it needed a new cartridge which would cost about $ 500. I thought this was strange since the whole fixture cost under $ 300.
Fortunately a friend referred me to a different plumber who came in and gave me 2 options, to get the shower working for $ 80 or to replace the cartridge for $ 100 more. It pays to shop around.

Roy was GREAT! On time and knew exactly what he was talking about and more importantly, knew exactly what he was doing! Quick and easy service. I am highly recommending him to all of my friends AND to all of you. Sorry to see the that some people didn’t have the same experience but call Roy first! you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Faucet guy was great. The service was prompt and courteous. He did everything that I needed and I felt the price charged was very fair. I’d call him again for any plumbing issues.

I had no running hot water and was worried about getting someone on a Friday afternoon. Called the Faucet guy and Roy called and came within the hour to give me a free estimate.
One look at the water heater and he realized that the problem was not as simple as the pilot going off! The entire tank had a leak at the bottom and there was some dirty water oozing out. He gave me a fair estimate which included removal and disposal of the old one, buying a new one and fixing it today itself. He came in the evening and in a couple of hours we had running hot water. Reasonable time and cost estimates and efficient job done. Highly recommed the business and Roy in particular.

This experience has been a nightmare!
Received several quotes to install a dishwasher and replace a water heater. His came in the lowest (first sign something was wrong). After purchasing the units at a nearby appliance store he installed them. Prior to completion of the work his estimate shot up 4 times what was originally quoted. What do you do, have him uninstall? He failed to properly inspect the dishwasher which caused thousands of dollars in damage hours after being installed. His response: «Theres nothing I can do about it. Its not my fault». If you pay $ 1200 to for work it should be done properly. Now we are stuck with lots of liability and thousands of dollars in the hole. If could go back in time we would just have hired a different plumber. Save yourselves the headaches and surprises.

I had some issues with toilets dripping. Called The Faucet Guy at 9AM when they opened, by 10:30AM, my problems were fixed. (20 min job)
What happened was, I had the City of Chicago install a water meter at my home, this I was told would save me over 50% on my current bill. Instead of the flat fee of 450 a year, it should only be about 35 bucks every two months for water usage.
The problem I saw after the meter was installed, was a spinning meter dial indicating there was water leaking somewhere, and it was from my two toilets.
Roy was my plumber, who told me he had been doing this kind of work for 40 years, he obviously knew what he was doing, not only fixed my toilets, but caulked a sink that was not level, and gave me some advice on some issues regarding changing our shower stall around.
