We cannot say enough about Tricia. I found her two years ago (via Unilocal) when we were looking for someone to photograph our son’s bar mitzvah. Tricia was so helpful and easy to work with AND affordable. We have since recommended her to numerous family and friends who have been equally impressed. What finally prompted me to write this review however was that last week we decided to have an outdoor family portrait done that included our aging dog. Once again we went to Tricia and we were wowed! She managed to capture such beautiful and impromptu moments.

We wife and I are from Chicago and were getting married in Chicago, but currently living many time zones away. We chose Tricia based on her wonderful work and many other glowing reviews. We were not disappointed. She was very professional from the beginning, working with us to do phone calls outside of business hours and meeting with us when we were in town for planning.
As for her performance on the big day, we loved it. Tricia and her assistant, Jose, did a fantastic job of capturing the formal and candid moments before the wedding, during the wedding, after the wedding, and during the reception. Tricia was very professional throughout the day, guiding and directing us and our guests so that we were able to get all of the formal shots that we wanted during the time available. She was full of great ideas for posed photos around our venue, all of which turned out looking very dramatic and wall-​worthy. As for her flexibility, Tricia swapped out an engagement shoot (which we had already done earlier) for a 1 hour shoot downtown a couple days after the wedding. Once again, she was fantastic to work with and we were very happy to be able to do a downtown shoot. She had everything lightly edited and uploaded to an online gallery 2 – 3 weeks after our wedding, and we received a USB drive with all of the images a week after that. As evidence of her attention to detail, the USB drive arrived in a foam case with pictures of us from our wedding day printed on the front and back.
We absolutely love all the photos from our wedding and the downtown shoot, they’re all beautiful! The hardest part might be deciding which photos we’ll use for the album in our package. I wouldn’t think twice about working with Tricia again for any photography in the Chicagoland area in the future or recommending her to friends and family. We really can’t say enough great things about her!

I have known Tricia for 15 years so when I decided to get married in 2012 I knew I had to have her as my photographer. The whole process was seamless and easy and the day of she was on time and very professional. My whole family loved her and her directions help us to get some great pictures without the process taking too long. I was very happy with my pictures when it was time to create my wedding album and she took enough pictures for me to have tons of options. The best part of having Tricia as a wedding photographer is that she is also an ARTIST so she is able to take shots that other photographers can only dream of taking during their career. Tricia did an excellent job on our engagement and wedding photos. First, in regards to our engagement photos, when our initial plans for specific landmarks to include in the photos did not work out, Tricia had several alternative sites. We were very happy with their outcome and several of our family members and friends commented on the quality of the photos and the engagement book. For the wedding day, Tricia and her assistant, Matt, were very timely and were mindful of our tight time schedule. My husband and I had our wedding photos to select for our album within ~ 2 weeks. The photos turned out very well and one photo in particular was featured in a Chicago magazine. As part of the package that we purchased, both sets of parents would receive a smaller wedding album. My mother wanted to include some of her favorite engagement photos in with the wedding photos. Tricia was more than willing to accommodate my mother’s request. Quite simply — the best experience! I never had a professional family photo taken (husband and 2 small kids) until I worked with Tricia. I was nervous at the prospect of trying to get a natural looking/​not too posed picture of everyone outside in the fall. Although sounds easy enough, trying to get 2 kids focused and smiling at the same time while trying to have my husband and I looking at the camera was not a simple task. Tricia was amazing — she was so relaxed and I am still in awe of her ability to make the kids feel at ease and natural so quickly. She was fast, gave direction and great advice and made the entire process enjoyable. The photos she took were out of this world incredible. I still look at the photos and am in awe that she was able to capture such precious moments. Jose was also so very helpful and professional. The entire process from my first call to receiving the pictures couldn’t have been more smooth or pleasant. Thank you so much!!!

Tricia and Jose are wonderful to work with! They photographed our wedding in June 2014. Both of them were so easy-​going and pleasant which is exactly what I hoped for on our big day. Tricia was open to our photo/​location ideas and brought some of her own. We were able to view our proofs very soon after the wedding and our pictures turned out beautiful! Had the disc in hand soon after and the album shortly after that, which was just the other day. We’re super excited to share our album with our family and friends. I also recall Tricia’s package pricing making our financial decision really easy. Can’t go wrong with Tricia!

Tricia has photographed all of our most special life moments — our wedding, the first pics of our children and every family photo thereafter. The kids love her laid-​back approach that always allows her to capture the spirit of the day and where we are in life. The memories she creates for us are natural, artful and priceless. On a practical side, our holiday cards are always spectacular not only due to the photos and the amazing open studios she hosts — but in the ease and quickness they come together through working with Jose (studio manager). The beautiful designs and paper she has available makes it easy to get one of a kind cards! It’s actually one of my favorite holiday activities now because it’s such a joy to work with them.

Tricia is amazing! I took my very active 15 month old to her studio last summer, and I am thrilled with the photos! I was looking for something classic, but very worried about my son’s inability to sit (or stand) still for very long. She was so patient and got tons of great shots of him. She even worked around our evolving nap schedule and was very flexible. I can’t say enough — you will get beautiful pictures and a great experience.

Tricia took our family pictures last fall and all we can say is AMAZING! We have a little 2 year old, who wouldn’t sit for too long and Tricia managed to capture her best smiles and expressions. We got the link to our pictures within a few days and we were so happy to see that we had so many beautiful family pictures. Tricia is very warm and friendly, and also a great photographer who found the right setting and lighting for a the perfect memories.

We hired Tricia to photograph our wedding 14 years ago and we LOVE her work! She was professional and captured all of the important moments of our day. We have continued to use her for all of our family photos over the years. Our kids know her and she always captures them with great expressions that really show thier personailities. Tricia is so easy to work with and you alwasy end up with so many great shots that it’s hard to choose the best!

Tricia was my wedding photographer. She is an artist and a master at capturing moments. She was a pleasure to work with. We loved her personality, approach and overall style. She did a great job of managing our family wedding shots involving a lot of people and kids. Our wedding photos are stunning! She managed to capture everything yet we never really noticed her, due to her unobtrusive style. We had a link to our wedding photos less than two weeks after the wedding. She was so easy to work with – responsive, organized, and prompt. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a wedding photographer!

Tricia is very skilled in the art of Photography. She accommodated all of our requests and was able to work us in at a moments notice. I am extremely un-​photogenic but all of my pictures looked great.
I was very impressed that her studio was able to turn around an important photo in a matter of days. They are still working with my sons 1 year old shoot and we can’t wait to see the finished product.

Tricia is a true master at photography. She captured wonderful moments on my wedding day from the cultural tea ceremony to the reception that went into the wee hours of the morning. Tricia is a pleasure to work with; she’s a great listener, and it’s amazing to see how she can intuitively know what’s a good shot. She has an incredible eye, and she’s stealth at getting those magical moments. I can’t say enough great things about her photography! Family and friends are always impressed by the photo book that was created from our wedding photos too.

I had the pleasure to work with Tricia and her team in May for our wedding. There are really nothing but great things to say about the experience. Everything was incredibly easy, the pictures were amazing despite the awful weather we were having that day and our photo album which she completely designed is even better! Tricia was prompt, professional and of course has an amazing talent.
I have heard so many stories of friends not getting their pictures for months after their wedding and we were lucky enough to have a preview emailed to use while we were on our honeymoon (where we only had a Mac and I couldn’t open it without flash so Tricia was kind enough to put them on Facebook for me!) and she helped guide us through the hard processes of picking our «favorites» from the 700+ selection.
From the initial meeting to the album process everything was EASY which truly is refreshing during this crazy planning process! Her whole team was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond for us during every step of the process. I would HIGHLY recommend using Tricia.

I desperately needed some new head shots for my website but was putting off getting them taken. You see, I’m not a very photogenic person and I don’t like the process of waiting for proofs, paying too much, etc. Finally, I made an appointment with Tricia because she gets great reviews here.
My experience was awesome! Tricia was prepared, professional, and put me at ease. She took great head shots, and I received the digital files the very same day. So easy! Also, her pricing was very reasonable. I would definitely go back to her and recommend her to others.

Tricia did our wedding in September of 2011. She exceeded our every expectation. Our package with her included an engagement session which was equally as gorgeous as the wedding photos.
Tricia is extremely professional, she has a fabulous eye and finds very creative and interesting angles for our photos. She was always on time, very easy to work with and very down to earth. She feels like a friend is taking your pictures because she makes you feel so at ease.
With all of the stresses of our wedding it was wonderful to work with her because we never had to worry about her work, which we couldn’t say for other vendors.
Our pictures turned our beautifully. Both the portraits and the candid shots were perfectly done. She was extremenly unobtrusive at the wedding and she gave us shots we had no idea she had even captured.
In addition, she had an assistant photographer with her. He was a younger man, and we were concerned at first that he didn’t have the necessary experience, but his pictures turned out fabulous as well.
We would highly recomend Tricia for anyone needing professional photography. You will not regret hiring her.

We brought our son in for his first birthday, and not only was Tricia incredibly accommodating of our last-​minute request (during the holidays, no less) but she captured so many wonderful shots of our son in such a short timeframe that we had no choice but to purchase the entire set. (We couldn’t choose!)
As a professional designer I’ve worked with more than my fair share of photographers, and Tricia has a natural ability to capture her subjects at their best (even if said subject is an unpredictable one year old!) That’s something special.

For our wedding, we decided to spend a little extra on getting a really good photographer, since they are the ones who are capturing the memories for you. We looked at the photography chains where they hire a bunch of subcontractors and rake in as many weddings as they can. We’d heard some nightmare stories, with it taking months to get proofs. Plus, those chains own the rights to your photos, so you are forced to pay for each copy you want.
After quite a bit of searching and interviewing, we met Tricia and were immediately impressed. She’s a professional with a ton of great photos to show for it. Our engagement photos (included in the price) were incredible, and she made us feel comfortable the whole time, so we knew we were on the right track. (Someone told my wife that our engagement photos look like they belong in a fashion magazine – she liked that!)
At the wedding, Tricia was again a true professional. She was able to corral the family in a friendly, but firm manner – even my dad gave her props for doing that! Her assistant was great: we were so comfortable with her that even when she rode with us in the limo to take photos, she blended right in.
Oh, and the pictures? INCREDIBLE. Tricia put the photos up on a website, and the whole family was blown away. There was something in there for everyone. She worked with us to narrow down our photos from nearly 1000 good photos to the top 100, which was pretty hard. Then, she helped us layout the album, which is only the best of the best.
Being an amateur photographer, I know that if someone can get 80 – 100 ready-​to-​frame, keep-​forever, amazing photos in 8 hours, that’s pretty incredible. For all the money spent on a wedding, we felt like it was worth it to not cut corners and choose to work with someone who is professional, takes amazing photos, and will have something at the end that captures the whole thing incredibly well. Tricia is a self-​employed small business person whose art background, photographic skill, and fantastic service put all the big Walmart-​type studios to shame.

My now-​husband and I met with her for an initial consultation (referred by several of my mothers’ friends whose daughters had hired her), and both walked away loving her work and her calm, confident demeanor. We booked her as our wedding photographer, and I could not be more thrilled with her work.
We went for an all-​day package for our wedding day, and she was there to snap my photo when I got out of the cab from the salon (downtown Chicago wedding). She shot separately with the groom and me before the ceremony, and got some fun posed shots and amazing candids. We told her we wanted the formal family wedding party portraits to be pretty quick, and she got us through that part of the evening really smoothly, with beautiful portraits I just love.
She really shines during the ceremony– we dubbed her «the ninja photographer» because she seemed to be everywhere (and nowhere) at once. :) When one of our groups of friends would get together for a photo, she’d swoop in, take the photo a friend was setting up, and then move on to the next one before the civilian camera was turned on. She talked to us beforehand about what/​who we really wanted photos of, and was sure to get them. She moved all over the room throughout dinner and dancing– I think we had at least a couple pictures of everyone, and we had a good-​sized guest list. We had a very active dance floor, and she captured photos that make me grin and giggle.
After the wedding, she sent proofs very promptly– we had a ton to review! We met with her to put together our album, and it was really cool to see her suggestions on how to put together our favorite pictures. The album is gorgeous; it’s the absolute perfect way to show off our special day!
Um yes, so, I really really love Tricia Koning and her work.
