Absolutely hate this company. I’m not even insured with this company. The person who hit me is, that fact of the matter is, they don’t call to keep update, I’m the type if person that wants to know what’s going on at all times. They sent me papers to fill out, but instead of making sure the address was correct, they mailed the papers to the wrong address. Instead of calling and asking about the papers and my pictures of the car. They complete ignored me. To even get a hold of the adjuster is completely impossible. Now I have to wait till the end of the week just for the adjuster to look into my fill and see if they got the release form. Like really another 3 days to look into a folder. Nothing but a hair ripping out company. Unless if your bold I wouldn’t recommend this company. Just horrible customer service

I contacted other insurance agencies they were either one yr or six month concecutive coverage even though I did not own a car for the last seven months. That looks stupid but with United, nothing like that and their quote is ok.

I found out about these guys on the radio, got on the call and had the pleasure to speak with Lisa. This company is a joke!!! I got sucked into their bullcrap commercials on the radio. They claim to be the best and for a low price? My wife totaled my vehical on mother’s day. I am still waiting for a power of attorney form in the mail. It took me forever to file a claim. I have never had an accident in my life and they shopped me around to a company called Falcon insurance. This has been a total nightmare. It is now June 29th and still nothing. I called and threatened to call the illinois insurance commissioner and have an attorney involved and finally, a rep put me on hold and spoke to the adjuster. Mind you i was on the phone for 15 minutes. I’m paying for full coverage and i have to fight and call every other week? They have no shame and the commercials are lies… i will never go cheaper when it comes to insurance again and hopefully the 3 letter page to the BBB and the call to the commissioner will do some justice. DO NOT GET INSURANCE FROM UNITED AUTO INSURANCE!!!

Horrible agency. It seems like everyone is all on break. I waited on hold to talk to someone for 17 minutes. I had to hang up. I don’t even want to think about having to do a claim with the cut rate garbage insurance they offer. Horrible customer service.

I went with United auto insurance because they seem to be the cheapest and those catchy jingles I figured how could I go wrong with them, I was wrong! I got insurance with these people for an old clunker simple coverage– had no problems. I accepted that I had an older car and that if I ever got into an accident they werent covering anything on my end. fine no biggie,
Got a new car and needed full coverage. These idiots charged me a monthly payment twice!!! despite the fact that I was calling daily to check if they received payment before giving them another one. Instead they cancelled my coverage and took more money out of me for reinstatement and I paid a monthly payment twice. When i asked to be transferred to a manager there wasnt one on staff. When i asked when they would be there the lady stated tomorrow. When i asked for the managers name she wasnt sure who worked… SERIOUSLY? You have tell the cheerlead snapping her bubblegum on the other end could give two shits but now I am out 100 bucks– come new year I am cancelling and will NEVER go to united auto again. So dissapointed.

Insurance is cheap, but if you get in the accident — get ready to fight, call every day and wait forever for claim to be reviewed and approved. It’s been over 5 month since a driver insured by the same company hit me and i can not get any resolution. Customer service is horrible. STAY AWAY from united auto insurance !!!

Yes the insurance is cheap but wait till you have to file a claim with this company. I was involved in a accident that left my car un drivable and United Auto insurance wouldn’t help me because the accident occurred on a Sunday and I would have to call back on Monday for assistance. The following day I filed a claim and it has been a nightmare dealing with this company. The customer service is terrible and when you need answers on regarding your claim, no one will return your calls and if you do get to speak to someone they are extremely rude and won’t answer your questions. If you are looking for insurance do yourself a favor and go with a more reputable company. Yes you will pay more but it’s better to have quality insurance then cheap insurance. In this situation you get what you pay for.

all i ask was updating an address and this is my horror story:
they 1st typographically wrote the wrong house number. then, i called back to have it corrected. this time they misspelled the street address. i called back and twice i got a RUDE REPRESENTATIVE they put me on hold for 15 mins. 2 times and passed around just to correct an address. i had enough and decided to hang up and call back again because i also asked to pls. send me an email which the representative clearly did not. i finally had it corrected after but the representative just hanged up not even asking if i have other concerns.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! i will just wait until my coverage expire and will take my business where i can get atleast a descent customer service.
imagine this is just by asking them to correct a simple mistake they originally did and put me in too much stress and trouble which they didn’t even acknowledge all these time that i called them. what more if you got into god forbid serious insurance problems?

For minimum liability coverage it was only $ 299 for an entire year on my old clunker. I did everything through their website and they beat even Geico by a large amount. So far, I haven’t had to use customer service or file a claim and hence I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I can’t say much about United Auto Insurance other than I’ve been insured by them for five years and they provide me with the most affordable auto insurance. Fortunately, I have avoided any possible fender benders, head-​on collisions, etc, that I could have possibly had the misfortune of experiencing in the past five years and am rewarded for being a safe driver with lower rates almost every six months. Yay for saving money!
I have the option to pay for my insurance once every six months or make a down payment and pay once a month for six months. Usually, I take the former option. I have made most of my payments over the phone, though it is possible to process payment online or through snail mail. The only downer paying over the phone is the few dollars they tack on as a service fee; luckily, I am not too sensitive and have gotten over that fact by now. ;)
If you’re looking for low-​cost auto insurance, give UAI a call. I’m sure you already have the number in your head; their jingle is catchy!
