I hope my experience was representative of this location always, because it was so painless it made the horrible, dreadful, and much feared car repair a pleasure. The front desk woman was quick, professional, and polite. Although they were very busy they got my car into the mechanic fairly quickly, I still left and went to eat though no one is that fast and this busy, but it was not long before she called me with an estimate. She gave me a fair estimate, I only think it was fair because of what the internet said the repair should be, and she told me about how he saw another piece that will need to be replaced and it was up to me if I wanted to wait or not. I am sure there was another piece that was nearing its end because my car is 16 years old and I have never gotten any part of my muffler fixed. It was fixed so quickly after I gave the go-​ahead and they kept it overnight for me, no questions asked.

They were quick, friendly, and explained what I needed easily. The girl at the front desk even helped me retrieve the online coupon so I could use it that day!

So happy that Firestone told me about this place. I have lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and didn’t know it was there; so courteous and helpful. Based on my Sunday morning experience I will be using them again.

The worst place they fixed my muffler a year ago cheap parts. So I called in they tell me 340 $ a year ago charged me 100 $ Rip off place

Referred here for a new muffler. I was in and out within an hour. I paid exactly the price I was quoted when I arrived. Great customer service and highly recommended. They even have a lifetime warranty on the new muffler!

Have brought my car here two times now and have always received same day service. Their cashier is great — thanks for the Unilocal deal!

Took my car in after hearing a slight noise that I thought was the rear brakes going out. When I picked it up I learned there was nothing wrong with my brakes and they simply made the noise go away as there was nothing wrong with the car. Also replaced a tail light that was out. When I asked what I owed they said there wouldn’t be a charge for anything.
Great neighborhood shop and refreshing to have mechanics be honest with you about when do you and do NOT need work done. I will be back!

Disappointed that after only two and half years, my muffler had deteriorated and was not holding up and had to be replaced. I didn’t go back to Velasquez.

I needed rear brakes and I saw that Velasquez has great ratings and a Unilocal deal! So, I bought the deal early in the morning and before noon my brakes were done. Thanks guys!

Had a header pipe installed here. The price seem kinda steep except, I was not to thrilled to go anywhere else at the time. less than 90 days later another shop informed me that the pipe to the header was leaking. I took it back to this place and they fixed it with no questions asked. They do stand behind their work. I know they know what they’re doing, these things happened, I’m happy they helped me out.

I’m very happy with my services. They got my van up and running in no time. Great prices

This is one of those places that defies logic. They are good if not great at what they do, but their customer service is lacking. One time I asked for my brakes to be checked during an oil change and they just said no, not this time. They just don’t have the right people skills. Strange.

***ATTENTION**** DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! THIS IS A CHOP SHOP! Brought my car here for the motor mount. They ordered bad parts and put those on my car which didn’t solve the problem OMAR said I had to pay before they replaced them with a new one from the dealer. Had me to come back the next day to make sure that was the issue, had me leave my car there for 4 – 5 hours while they stole my brand new tires that I just replaced 2 months ago. When I brought it back after putting my life in danger with bald tires Albert told me go get F***ed!

Went in here and my cat replaced. A week later my car’s check engine light came back on. The code was for a bad cat. WTF. Went in and they told me it wasnt the cat but it was that i needed a tune up. Keep in mind that when i went in initially they told me my check engine light was on for my cat and nothing else. I rather get captured by ISIS then deal with these people.

I’ve been here for small stuff before and they did a pretty good job. However today I brought my car in and dropped it off because the engine has been overheating. The girl at the desk didn’t even ask what I was coming in for she just had me sign in on the sheet. She called me 30 minutes later saying they don’t even do that kind of work. A complete waste of time. They have real issues with customer service

I brought my car to have the rear brakes done. When I walked in, I was greeted and asked to bring my car in the back. I drove my car to the back and there was 4 mechanics just standing there. I asked if I should leave my keys or take them with. They motioned to leave the keys in the car. They quoted me $ 500 for all 4 brakes and rotors. I only could do the rear brakes. The girl charges me and leaves on lunch and I waited 4 hours to have my brakes done. The parts came 15 minutes after I paid however, since the girls was out to lunch, there was no one to run the front of the desk. No one came to the front to pick up the parts or check on the customers for 2 hours. The waiting room is small and was filled with people that day. They make up the prices as they go. There is no set price. They could charge 1 person something and turn around and charge the next person something else. I was not impressed with the level of customer service and they did not really seem like they wanted the work. I think if they had some organization or structure this place could possibly do well.
Did I mention they also ordered the incorrect parts for the wrong year and make of the car? Who does that?

Customer service? More like lack of customer service. I went in just needing to have them run a diagnostic for my check engine light that came on. First I called and asked if I needed an appointment and was told by the girl on the phone I didn’t need one. When I got there at 3:00 I was told it would be a 20 – 30 minute wait before they could get to my car. That was fine with me. While I was waiting the girl at the desk takes her lunch break for an hour. No one else was covering the office. The phone rang off the hook. People walked in and walked out because no one was at the desk.
Over 2 hours I waited and not one word on when they would see my car. And I wasn’t the only one. 2 other customers were waiting and were getting frustrated as well. No one comes and tells you anything. One was waiting for over 2 hours like myself after being told 30 minutes. I overheard the other one say that they had ordered the wrong parts and hadn’t told her that was why it was taking so long.
No one ever came and let me know when they would get to my car. So at the 2 ½ hour wait mark I had enough and left.

Like I got a whole new car. But really, just 4 new pads and 4 new rotors.
They did good work quickly and at a fair cost.
I dropped my car off around 8:30a and picked it up around 3p the same day with the work completed.
I’d recommend the Unilocal deal they have posted to their page if available (the one I got was a $ 245 voucher for $ 175) to save yourself some money. I bought mine after the work had been quoted and already started.

I was overcharged for a cat back exhaust system install. $ 250 for a 1.5 hour job when their labor rate is $ 85/​hour. The tailpipes were not level (dual exhaust) and I had to tell the guy to line them up correctly. He knew/​admitted that they weren’t straight and got it right the second time. Then I got home and realized he somehow scratched my bumper! I called the next day and, of course, they denied it.
So, if you need a cheap and quick muffler replacement on your beater, maybe this place will work for you. But if you’re modifying your car for sound/​power, and actually care what your car looks like, avoid this place. Total rip.

Let’s face it, if you own a car, there will be problems. Most of us can’t fix anything by ourselves.
We hymn and haw about the asinine costs dealerships and big name service shops charge us. Not wanting to be taken advantage of so easily this time, we endured the dreadfully embarrassing sound coming from our muffler until I figured out there’s more to Unilocal than just writing reviews.
The morning I searched on Unilocal and came upon Velasquez, Jason decided to show up there with his Toyota Camry on a whim. I wasn’t comfortable with not calling ahead and making an appointment but 40 minutes before closing, they agreed to put it on their lift and take a look.
There was a hole in the exhaust pipe. Repaired within minutes and only charged $ 20!
Without the help of Unilocal,there’s no way to know about gems like these. I don’t think Jason would find honest service technicians that didn’t try to hold the car overnight, exaggerate the problem and inflate the fix. Thank you, Velasquez!
