Established in 2013.

VIP Paints started in 2013 in the owners apartment. In 2014 Chicago storefront location was opened in Pilsen and second location was opened in San Diego by owners mother!

Business Owner

Originally from Chicago and started in my apartment in 2013. I now have a successful store front in Pilsen and a second store in San Diego that was opened by my mother. We are now a mother/​daughter business. We plan to grown even more in the next couple years. I love being part of the Pilsen/​Art District community where my family is originally from. Most of our classes cater to adults. On Weekend mornings we have kids classes. We offer free kids classes to the Pilsen community. Summer 2016 we will start the Chicago VIP Paints Kids Summer Art Program. Looking to inspire and help kids express themselves through art. Teaching different types of art forms. My future goal will be to turn the kids art program into a Non Profit program. Bringing art back to Chicago students. Especially for the kids that no longer take art and music in schhol.

We just had so much fun here! Sit candle making class, BYOB. Wine, excellent instructors, cute little studio, and pretty candle to take home = A+. Stay on point, VIP. Awesome experience. We’ll be back.

Great atmosphere, very helpful for fledgling painters. They provide all the materials, and walk you though how to recreate the selected painting. With lots of classes, you’ll easily be able to find a painting that you like. They even have romantic-​themed paintings for couples and dates, which makes for a nice, relaxing enjoyable night where you are literally creating memories. My only words of advice, don’t bring a perfectionist. Have fun with it and make it your own. BYOB should help in both these areas.

Although I’m a math & science guy and so is my fiancé, we LOVED this! This class helps anybody of any artistic/​creative ability have fun and enjoy art-​making in a relaxed and comfortable environment. And it’s definitely a nice couples date, strongly encourage it fellas. The byproduct is some halfway decent artwork for a wall in our place haha. 5 stars for VIP Paints! We’ll be back.

My wife wanted to do painting class for a while. So we reserved the class on weekend, and had a great time. Ambiance was nice, people were friendly. Our teacher was Carlos, and he cruised us through the session. In all, a memorable time spent. Worth the money

I had a blast! First time painting on canvas and something other than stick figures. I was happily surprised at my finished product. The instructor was patient and detailed. I was able to follow him even after having a few glasses of wine.
The only downside is that there was another group in the back of the studio painting wine glasses and they were very loud at times to the point where we couldn’t hear the instructor.

I was visiting Chicago and decided to come get the VIP painting experience and it was amazing. The staff was very helpful and encouraging with our party, we had wine and expressed our inner creativity through art. This location has easy street parking and is conveniently located adjacent to the downtown area. This place is a MUST go and ill definitely be back for a date night.

We purchased a deal for the soy candle class via Living Social. I was grappling with how to rate VIP Paints bc this place is really cool and the canvas painting classes are probably much more interactive than the soy candle class. In the end, our candles were really nice, however, our instructor was not engaging and didn’t really interact with us that frequent. Matter of fact, I don’t believe that she ever introduced herself to us. Most of the how-​to information came second hand from our neighbors.
We may give this place another chance, however, if so, we’ll try a different class. I didn’t feel like we received much bang for our buck with the soy candle class.

I set up a class for me and my boyfriend and it was a blast! We came in on a couples class and it was awesome to paint and get along with everyone else. They go at a great pace while painting so no one is left behind! They also provide aprons to protect your clothes from the paint.

I planned a painting class event for my birthday this past Saturday at VIP Paints and it was really fun! There were 18 of us, and we all had a pretty fun experience. It’s BYOB, which makes painting a lot easier! The staff was really friendly and our instructor was really helpful and nice. Planning the event was really easy as well. You need 6 – 22 people, it was $ 35 a person, and they send you a link where your friends can purchase their tickets.
I would definitely recommend VIP Paints for a painting class or a private event!

Super fun experience in this cozy painting studio! The instructor (Karen) was extremely helpful, and gave individual pointers to the entire class. It’s BYOB and snacks, and they provide the wine glasses. They have a nice variety of paintings they offer on their website calendar. I would definitely do this again!

LOVED coming here for my first painting class! The instructor made it really easy to follow along and never made anyone feel like they didn’t have a good product going, or were too slow. Definitely recommend VIP Paints for a fun and creative night out with friends (or a date! or with your parent (s)!).
Located in the Pilsen area, which makes for a great neighborhood to walk around and look at the art and creativity in the area in the afternoon/​evening before or after class.

I went to VIP paints this afternoon with a group of friends using a Groupon we had all purchased. The class was great, easy, and the fact that it’s byob is awesome.
The only downside was when we were trying to register for a class, the website wouldn’t accept our groupon number so that was a bit frustrating, especially because the classes were filling up so quickly. But I immediately contracted the owner, Delilah, who was so great at taking our registration via email and confirming our class registration.
They do have two classes going on at one time so its a bit hard to hear the instructor but since its a pretty easy class, it wasn’t that big of a deal and he was walking around if you needed help, as were other employees.
I am definitely going to go back to VIP Paints in the near future!

Took advantage of a Groupon deal with a few of my girlfriends and we had such a blast! Byob, could bring snacks, had a fridge for our cheese (necessity!), and oh yeah the painting instructor and owner were both amazing
Overall, the owner was super nice, eager to please, gave us a tote bag to carry out our paintings, didn’t mind us staying late, etc. Everyone that worked there went above and beyond.
1 star deducted because the system was a little finicky and I couldn’t pay online (had to call and give my credit number) and the class started a little on the late side but overall we had a really fantastic experience and I can’t wait to come back!

If I could rate this 10 stars I definitely would! What a fun and creative way to spend time with friends!
I didn’t know what to expect but Delilah and Jose exceeded all of our expectations!
Delilah was warm, inviting and hospitable!
Jose our instructor was so friendly and patient helping all of us along the way!
My boyfriend was super stoked when he came home and saw my piece and wants to come with next time!
Can’t wait to do this again, thanks Delilah & Jose!!!
