The entire staff, from front desk to my technician and Dr. Noreen, is so pleasant! Everyone is professional, personable, and really informative including the exam itself to explaining my benefits. The office is clean and spacious. I felt really comfortable here and it’s going to be my regular spot!

Great and friendly place! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful! The doctor made sure my two younger kids were comfortable and explained the process to them in «kid terms». Karina was extremely helpful! She matched my boys with some great glasses and made sure they were fitted for their frame. Would definitely recommend this place!

Fantastic place and service! This was my son’s first appointment here, and he thought that the doctor did an amazing job. To quote him, «she explained everything very thoroughly and articulately». So, I’m a happy mom since he got serviced well and at the same time, he learned something about visual physiology. I’ll be making my appointment next!
Oh, I forgot to mention; the coffee and snacks were an added bonus! Additionally, we got some free goodies to take home. Slam dunk!

Doctors are good; glasses did not work out so after a couple discussions they decided to refund the frames and not lenses.

The staff here is amazing! They are probably some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met in any healthcare situation. Dr. Boldus was super nice and helpful. He tells you how it is and that’s pretty refreshing nowadays. I really loved this office and would recommend anyone to try them out!

I have been going here for 3 years, ever since I moved to the neighborhood and they are terrific ! I have been wearing glasses and contacts for most if my life and tend to wait until it is an emergency before I make an eye appointment but with the helpful staff and easy appointment schedule I make it 2x a year. I can see better than I have in years ! Thanks WLEC

Everyone here is so welcoming and eager to help. I even received a thank you note after my exam and purchase of two frames reminding me to submit my rebate, which was pretty cool.

I recently picked up my new pair of anti-​reflective glasses and sunglasses and I couldn’t be happier! Getting lots of compliments from my friends and family.
I love this place. They always seem to have a great selection in stock. I continue to get my eyewear from them despite no longer needing prescription glasses. Their employees have always been helpful, especially with helping me pick out frames that look good on my face. (They tend to be too small for me AND I’m picky, so it takes time to find the right pair).
I just wish this place was closer to my work.

I’ve been coming here for 20yrs, and recently began wondering why I can’t leave this place without spending AT LEAST $ 600 WITH insurance coverage. I was informed that Local No. 1 and other union members are to be treated «differently» according to new management. This entails inflating prices, and poor customer service. Thanks for the information, I will be sure that none of my 9 immediate family members ever come here again.

What a disappointment!!! I was a regular patient at this eye center but after my recent visit I couldn’t be more dissatisfied. My go to person Areli is no longer there and now I hate this place. So different! They are so rude and slow in helping you. They’re so insistent on getting you to add something that is unnecessary to your purchase or purpose of the visit. I will definitely not be returning to this place ever again. Service is definitely not the same! It doesn’t even deserve one star.

Have been going to this place for many years now, maybe 9. And everything was great. Doctors have seen different ones during the years I have been going to them. However they used to, yes USED TO, have the best customer service ever. Areli was the best thing they had. Alejandro is great too!!! However I called to make an appointment and asked for Areli to find out she had been let go. Very disappointing. Seems to me maybe prejudice or maybe doctors just didn’t like her but they are so wrong and I am sure many will agree with me. Doctors should worry about the customer service than their service. Areli and Alejandro spend more time with patients than doctors themselves. Result of this… West Loop Eye Center has lost not only myself, but my husband and my daughter. 3 less patients they have. Too many places out there that are not prejudice that all people white, hispanic, whatever nationality or race they are get the same offers and coupon specials. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

After scouting places that were closer to my house than the 45 minutes I was driving to see my eye doctor, I happened upon West Loop Eye Care (thanks Unilocal!) and couldn’t be happier with the decision to head over. My husband and I bought some cool frames from Labrabbit Optics and needed an eye exam in order to purchase lenses with our insurance plan.
The staff was amazing – professional, warm, knowledgeable – and was able to schedule us the same day I called for an appointment. At our previous place, we would have to schedule at least a week out and then ended up waiting at least half an hour before being seen by the doctor. Here, we were able to go into the examining room (spacious, exposed brick, clean and cool) together right away, hence saving time. The doctor was very laid back, indicating that my prescription was in fact too strong (!) and my husband’s floaters were nothing to be concerned about. He answered all our questions patiently and competently.
The vibe of the place and everyone involved is very welcoming and warm; the exam was easy and well-​explained; the insurance coverage and payment were thoroughly and thoughtfully expressed. Turns out they offer a 20% discount on sunglasses – bonus!
Only somewhat confusing part – there are no signs out front and the place is tucked back into a parking lot. Looks more like the entrance to a condo than a business. They need more signage out front if they’re going to attract new clientele. However, if you look for the address and not the (lack of a) business sign, you’ll have no problem finding it. They’re on the third floor and are next to a dentist, don’t let that confuse you.

This place is really great! My family and I have been going here for years and we are more than satisfied. The doctors are very knowledgeable and the staff is more than helpful. They are very efficient and there is no long waiting. Also they have an amazing selection of glasses and sunglasses. I definitely recommend going here first!

The staff at West Loop Eye Care are incredibly friendly, helpful and honest. They truly look out for your best interests. I was just in to pick out frames and the manager was fantastic at helping find the frames that were just right for me. You never feel rushed or pressured to make a decision and they make you feel like family. I’ve only had outstanding experiences at West Loop Eye Care and will continue to only get my eye exams done there.

They’re under new management and it’s absolutely awful, not to mention their prices are inordinately inflated. Since they switched management and decided to raise prices and will likely continue to do so, after 12 years, my family and I are going elsewhere, for better care and more competitive prices. Not to mention, depending on your insurance provider you may or may not receive decent service.

I was very pleased with my experience at the West Loop Eye Care. The doctor and staff were very friendly and helpful. They also have a nice selection of glasses in the office. The place was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but I still finished my appointment in less than an hour. I needed some new contacts and had to replace my old lenses on my glasses. I received the new contacts via mail in just three days and they called me two days later telling me my glasses were ready. Service is fast here so I definitely recommend them.

I visited Eye Care Center a few weeks ago and was pleased with the immediate assistance and kindess with which I was treated. When I had a emergency situation with my eye the optometrist attended to me quickly and took time out to assess and evaluation my issue. The staff proved to be extremely helpful and provided me with great service in a very friendly atmosphere. I was so thankful and have now made plans to return for a regular examination.

I live right across the street from Vision Boutique and figured it would be a convenient option to get an eye exam/​contact lens refill. I stopped in to make an appt and it turned out they weren’t yet set up to accept my vision insurance. However, their sister store — Eye Care Center (located only two blocks away) did in fact accept it so they directed me there.
Vision Boutique is what you’d expect from any indy eye place — nice selection of frames, boutique atmosphere, etc — the staff was really friendly and helpful even though I wasn’t going to be utilizing them directly so I had good expectations for Eye Care Center.
I made an appt for a few days later and one for Amy as well who decided after all these years to finally have her eyes checked. (insert joke here…)
Anyway, ECC was a complete 180 from VB. It was located on the 3^rd floor of an office building and shared office space with a dental practice (weird). It also had the appearance of what I would expect gov’t subsidized health care for illegal immigrants to look like. The selection of glasses were decent (definitely on the lower end but they did have an ok selection of designer frames for Amy to check out while waiting for the Dr).
The Dr himself deserves 5 stars. He was friendly, knowledgeable, etc and even seemed out of place in his own store. Both of our exams were standard, quick, and efficient and then it was time to move on to one of the sales associates for my contacts and Amy’s glasses …
The girl who «helped us» was probably one of the worst sales people I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Maybe she’s used to working with a different kind of clientele — one that is uneducated or unfamiliar but after 30 seconds of me giving her background (been wearing contacts for 15+ years, able to get them online, etc, etc) — she should have gotten the hint and shut down her bs. Instead, she tried to railroad me into spending money over and above my insurance plan which was completely unnecessary. I know how many fk’n boxes I need to last me a year and I also know that I can pay $ 19 online for the same thing you’re trying to rob me for $ 31 for. Long story short — I left with 2 boxes of contact vs 6 boxes as she claimed my insurance didn’t cover anything else (which I knew was completely false). Went home, spoke to my insurance company — called her back livid, and sure enough 4 more boxes were going to be available to me in a few days. She tried to roll me for $ 200+ and the whole thing ended up costing me $ 6. It’s pretty pointless to try to scam someone who is clearly knowledgeable and although I truly liked the Dr/​owner — I wonder if this is a reflection on him as well. (I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt).
Amy’s glasses were less of an issue but took over two weeks to make which seemed excessive.
Although I liked the Dr — there’s just too many options in the eye care world to be a repeat customer at a place that left such a bad taste in my mouth for something that should have been clear cut and dry. I just feel badly for their customers who don’t know any better.
