History

Established in 2009.

Bakery Owner and Founder Emily has years of experience working with baked goods, pastries, cookies, cupcakes, custom wedding cakes & special occasion cakes. It began as a hobby to do cakes for friends and family and over the years referrals started pouring in. This was no longer a hobby but a career. And so, Lovely Layers Cakery was born to offer the general public an opportunity for a truly one of a kind cake — baked and designed just for them.

Business Owner

I’ve always had a passion for cooking and baking and knew it would pay the bills for me someday. I attended Western Culinary Institute in Portland, OR and graduated in 2002. Over the past 8 years I’ve worked in various bakeries in Northern, CA and also in Elizabethtown, KY. I discovered cakes to be my passion while in culinary school and always did them at home for friends and family. My cake business has slowly made it’s way by word of mouth to many people in the Chico and Paradise areas and has been keeping me quite busy! I absolutely LOVE what I do and feel so lucky to be able to get to do it everyday as my full-​time job.
