Prolube Oil Change Center

I’ve gone here about 5 times and it’s gotten to the point where I’m just going to keep going. I’ve never had any annoying sales pitches or bad customer service. The guys are friendly and actually seem like they like working together. No complaints here

Best place to get an oil change in town! As a woman I never feel like they try to take advantage of me like I’ve experienced at other places. They’re always quick and are the most affordable place in Chico. Will never go anywhere else again.

I’ve had my oil changed at a handful of places in Chico (sears, dealership, etc) and Prolube is hands down the best (good price, fast, no frills). In-​and-​out in record time, helpful staff, and not pushy on trying to upsell you crap you don’t need. I live 3 hours away now, and I’ll take time out of my day to go to Prolube if I’m in town and an oil change is needed.

I get the BEST service every time I go to Pro lube. The manager is very knowledgeable and always knows what’s best and safe for my car. Thank you pro lube!

Went here yesterday for an oil change. Drove down to the Bay Area for the night and was driving back to Chico this morning when my car started smoking and smelling like burnt oil. Towed it to my mechanic in my hometown and found out Pro Lube had used the wrong oil filter which had come loose and was leaking oil all over. Luckily I got it towed in before I completely lost all oil because that would have destroyed my engine. Pro lube also took apart my glove box to look at my cabin filter then couldn’t figure out how to put it back in correctly so they just left the part in my glove box. Which my mechanic also had to fix.
I will be coming back with a bill in my hand for them to pay for me having someone else fix their mistakes and also to get my money back for their botched oil change.
Moral of the story: NEVER GO HERE!!!

These guys are awesome! Friendly, fast, honest, and helpful. I couldn’t come here for a while since my oil dipstick was stuck, and due to liability they couldn’t work on the car. Sad for me but responsible on their part. I just started coming back since the dip stick was fixed and a very happy customer!

I vacillated between giving this one a 3 or a 4. If this was RottenTomatoes I’d be able to rate more accurately, so let’s say 3 ½. The reason I chose this rating is because the customer service, from my experience, has always been great, for one. There has never been much of a wait. You get a free car wash for each oil change. It’s kind of a «meh» though, because they may try to sell you something, especially if you’re female. Sometimes though, they’re cool about it and just give you a straight-​up oil change will so sales pitch. The other major plus is that there is a coupon in the Chico Coupon Book that comes out quarterly. That coupon is the deal breaker, in that without I probably wouldn’t go otherwise. Definitely check them out though if you just need a oil change as they are fast and good at what they do.

I have used Prolube a lot for my three cars. Up until this last time I have not had any problems. I live quite a bit away, so getting back is a problem. About three months ago I had my oil changed there and over the course of several weeks smelled oil coming from the engine area. I thought that they had just spilled oil on the exhaust manifold so figured it would burn off. It never did. I was having my brakes done so asked my mechanic to determine where the oil leak was located. He said that the oil filter was loose.
No one besides Prolube and my mechanic have touched the car, so I put the entire responsibility on Prolube.
Be aware. That could have caused major engine damage. Fortunately for me that it did not.

I have never had a problem here. Always quick, efficient, kind, and professional. Cheapest oil change in town plus a free car wash! Always coupons available SOMEWHERE around town for these guys. Excellent gentlemen that work there; hard workers and never try to up sell me! Love these guys and make the drive across town to use them every time! Also, they are always willing to check your fluids before a long road trip and refill if necessary!

I’ve been coming to Pro Lube for about 4 years now. They are great and honest. My dad is a mechanic so I always double check stuff with him and they have always been spot on. Super friendly and fast!

You have to come here! They are amazing, quick, prices are fabulous and service is perfect. We came here because we tried to get an oil change at another place. They didn’t have a tool to remove the filter so they just put new oil in. We came here and instead of giving us a full oil change and charging us the full price, they noticed that the oil was brand new so they asked us if we just wanted a new oil filter! Super great service! We were so impressed that were bringing our other car in for a different service today! Oh, did I mention the free car wash :)

This place is great. I moved to Chico and didnt know where to go so I tried them out. Friendly, honest and quick. They also dont try to sell you upgrades or anything special that you dont really need. I would come here even if you didnt have a coupon.

Really great service! These guys hooked it up. I brought the yellowbook coupon, and they had to add coolant which made the total $ 36 (same as jiffy lube). Then I walked away with a premium and a pro wash. Hell of a deal. Jon kept it real :) I would recommend to friends.

This place is awesome! Being a girl, I know more then most about cars. So when I go into a shop to have some work done, I know when I am getting scammed.
I came to this place to have a complete diff service, transmission flush and oil change. They checked all my fluids first and then showed me what they looked like. Not knowing that I know what colors and smells they should be, they started to educate me on them. They explained what they should look like and how often I should change them. Then they showed me what mine looked like before they started each diff and the trans flush.
I saw that I actually didn’t need these particular services yet and before I could say it myself, they advised me that I could save my money and get those services done at another time.
So, to sum this up, they tried to educate me so I know for the future what to look for and when to come in. They didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need AND you get a free car wash with a oil change! This place by far, is the best I have experienced.

You’re coming here for an oil change, thats it. Don’t expect stellar customer service or a clean shop like you’d get at Jiffy.
I come here to get my 3−5k oil change every few months with a coupon from the yellow magazine. Its the only way you’ll get me to come here regularly. They offer a free car wash with each oil change, which makes this even more convenient.
Again, I usually go to Jiffy Lube, but with the coupon from the Chico Quarterly (yellow book), it makes this place worth it.
The guy that was checking under my hood the other day asked when the last time was that I had changed my transmission fluid. I told him it was in December and he showed me the fluid. It was hot pink but he said, «Oh I think there’s some dirt in here, you might want to do this again!» This is the same mechanic who told me I had dirt in my then BROWN transmission fluid, which is why I went and had not just the fluid drained, but flushed out of the entire system and refilled. In other words, there’s no way that my transmission fluid, which is supposed to last a good 50,000 miles, needed to be changed again, especially when he showed me that my fluid was pink.
Was he trying to rip me off and sell me more services that I did not need? I have no idea, irrelevant, but needless to say, I’ll be back next time when I have another $ 29.99 coupon!

This is probably the most inexpensive, fastest oil change you’ll find in Chico. The bonus is that every oil change comes with a car wash. The downfall is they try to up-​sell you in every way that they can. I give them credit however, they had my oil and transmission flushed in under a half hour.

I am stocked about this awesome place! I thought I only needed an oil change; however, I did not sit in the car or the waiting room instead I watched what was happening under the hood of my Toyota 4Runner. I saw the most yucky air filter, (thanks to the fire season) and then he asked if I have ever flushed the transmission. Nope! just topped off. So he showed me the dark gunk in my transmission ew! Yeah he flushed that with clean transmission fluid and guess what, I use ½ the gas I used before! HALF! 3 months later and still half! Plus a FREE soft touch car wash with wax and another FREE one for the next week! Recycled wash water! Sweet! This is the place!!! Half the GAS!
