McBrides RV

I have had my rv’s serviced at other locations, nothing compares to McBrides, very family friendly, professionally ran, and you can not beat the work they do.

In March, 2016, I brought my 40 ft Cyclone Toyhauler in for an A/​C problem. The tech diagnosed my problem, contacted my warranty company and ordered a new A/​C. I brought the trailer back 1 week later, and in 2 hours, I was back on the road with a new A/​C unit on the roof. I only paid my deductible. The service and staff were the best. I highly recommend McBrides RV Service in Chino, CA. for any RV service.

People are very nice and friendly, from owner, to service writer, to mechanics. But, when things go bad, and they assure you, «If it’s something we did, we’ll make it right.» don’t believe it. I took my RV to McBrides to have the inverter/​charger replaced. They installed it backwards, so control buttons and indicator lights were hidden in the back of the storage compartment. Moreover, their work caused the chassis batteries (engine starters) to drain below 12v so engine would not start — in less than 10 days.
When I returned the vehicle to McBrides to have these two issues resolved, they did their work, but then called to ask me if I ever had trouble starting the engine when the batteries were fully charged. I said, «Never. It has always started & run perfectly, as long as the batteries were properly charged.»
Unable to get engine to start, McBrides solicited technical assistance from Johnson Caterpillar in Riverside, CA. I was first told, by McBrides service techs, that the ECM (Electronic Control Module was bad, and later told that the HEUI fuel-​pump was bad. McBride’s techs finally advised me to take the RV to someone who could fix whatever the problem was that prevented the engine from starting.
The story ends with me having the RV towed to Trans-​West Ford Truck Center in Fontana where the fuel pump (cost ~ $ 1500) was fine, but the ECM (cost ~ $ 2500) was the problem, along with some faulty ground wires that needed repair.
Research indicates that the primary causes for ECM failures is either water/​rust infiltration, or improper voltage spikes. Trans-​West reported no evidence of water/​rust infiltration. My conclusion is that a service tech at McBrides inadvertently cause a voltage spike or grounding issue, causing damage to the ECM. When confronted with the circumstance that the ECM was working fine when I took the RV to McBrides, and it suddenly failed while they were working on the electrical system, they simply said, «You have no proof that we did anything wrong.» But the chronology of the events suggests otherwise. However, they accepted no responsibility for the ECM failure and told me it was an unfortunate coincidence that it happened while in their possession.
I wrote a letter to the owner, believing that he would want to know of the circumstances and that the technicians would not likely share all of the details. I never heard back from the owner. The fiasco has cost me nearly $ 5000 by the time I payed McBrides for their faulty diagnosis and replaced the ECM at Trans-​West Ford.
Bottom line — THEY DON’T OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKES, IMO.
I did eventually (weeks after I first posted this summary) receive a letter from Ben McBride that did little more than confirm that they would accept no responsibility for the ECM damage that occurred while in McBrides possession. Moreover, the following response from Christie M. that refers to «Melendez Truck. .. confirmation» is a complete surprise to me. Never did anyone at McBride’s ever mention Melendez Truck to me. Only Johnson Caterpillar of Riverside and Trans-​West Ford Truck of Fontana were ever part of any conversation between me and anyone at McBrides.
I have since discovered that a repair, made by McBride’s last spring, to the steps that enter the side of the coach had to be re-​done. A metal support had experienced metal-​fatigue and was ripping, causing the steps to sag under weight. I recently took the RV to J&L RV Repair in Fontana where I was told that the support had previously been welded, but the weld just further stressed the fatigued metal, thus the ‘repair’ lasted only a few months. J&L RV in Fontana properly reinforced the original structure so that it is better than new.

Had an accident in our new 5^th wheel, someone backed in to us, and they were awesome to deal with! They took us right in and were so helpful and compassionate. They did an AMAZING job too. Never would know that it was damaged! And we loved their work so much that we asked them to do a few upgrades for us too. Would go back to them any time for work.
Our contact for them was Tim who was very friendly and made us feel like family. Service manger Jared was equally as nice to work with.

Picked the rig up from a dealer warranty service. They took care of a warranty claim even though they don’t typically handle warranty for Tiffin.
I was too excited to take it where I purchased it because I felt as though they weren’t interest in handling my need. Thankfully after reading the Tiffin forums I was able to get a recommendation on McBrides.
They took the time to explain everything and where able to fix the problem much easier than I had anticipated. Even has them to some non warranty work while they had the RV.

Been a customer of McBrides for many years. They offer everything needed to keep our trailer going! They make it all so easy!

Got into a bad accident in our 40ft Allegro Bus that required a new motor. McBrides was recommended by a friend. I called Ben from the scene of the accident on the 86S in Coachella and Ben walked us through the entire process of how to deal with CHP, the rip-​off tow company, the Insurance companies etc. Ultimately, Ben had both the coach and trailer towed to McBrides and worked with us and the insurance companies to get the coach fixed. It took time (mainly due to the insurance companies sparring over liability limits etc.) and we definitely had some «teething» problems but I have to say, Ben and Vic are both stand-​up guys and made everything right. Will be taking the coach back in a couple of weeks for some additional paint work (not related to the crash!).

Great service and repairs, we were traveling when our RV was damaged. I searched and searched and chose this dealer. Vic the shop manager was over the top, got our fifth wheel from storage, towed it to the shop, coordinated everything with our insurance company, it was a great seamless experience! these folks are super nice, helpful and professional. Work completed within settlement all was well. The work was impeccable. We had our RV towed nearly 100 miles to this dealer I wouldn’t go any where else in Southern California.

I’ve had my 2007 Monaco Dynasty for three years. I’ve had to use this company a few times in that period, for maintenance and damage that I caused to my coach. Each time I’ve used this company they have been very patent with me due to my many questions which they had answers, that I could understand. They don’t make you feel like an idiot. All repairs were done to my satisfaction. I trust this company with my «pride and joy» (Motorhome).

Very friendly shop. Clean, clean, clean. Nice perk is a washed motorhome at the end of service, saved us some time for sure. Will be returning for future needed services.
