i can hardly wait for Wednesdays to roll around just so I can go to the Carlsbad Farmers Market and stock up on hummus, babaganouj and pita. Oh my lord, heavenly! I’m a traditionalist so I only buy the traditional flavors, but for those of you taste explorers out there, you’re going to think you’ve found Ali Baba’s treasure. Enough writing now… I have to get back to my roasted garlic hummus and pita. Yuuuummmmmmm!

Really delicious hummus, pita, and chips! Hummus comes in a huge variety of flavors so feel free to sample until you find one you love.(Trust, it shouldn’t be hard.) The pita bread is soft and perfect for dipping. The chips come in different flavors as well and add a nice crisp texture. They definitely don’t crumble! Prices are typically $ 5/item or 3/$ 12 — you can mix & match. Have bought from them at the following farmers markets: Hillcrest(Sunday) La Jolla Open Aire(Sunday) Recommend: the cilantro jalapeño hummus and tzatziki sauce Best of all is that hummus lasts a pretty long time shelf life wise, uh except not when I’m eating it!

The dips and hummus are absolutely delicious however for the second time in a year I found hair in my dip. The first time I found a long black hair in the three layer dip and this week I found 1 inch white hairs in the rainbow dip. I am a redhead. It is a shame as the product is quite tasty but I have to question the health code practices. I can no longer purchase their products.

Had the Rainbow dip and pita. Sampled a few others and all were delicious but the rainbow is a must! I only wished they would ship it to me by the caseload.

ITISNTHERE — APPARENTLYYOUHAVETOGETTHEMATTHELOCALMARKETSTHATHAVETHEM. cant testify as to the hummus but a bit annoyed about the wild goose chase of trying to go to a store that does not exist. and sadly no farmers markets close by open on weekends have this stuff. alas.

I make it a point to walk to my neighborhood Farmer’s Market every week just to visit this booth. I love the«Kitchen Sink» dip and wish that it was sold in a huge tub. It’s super spicy and full of flavor. I also like the 3 layer dip, and their pita chips are great. They are very generous with their tastings and will let you taste as much as you’d like!

You think you’ve tried hummus before? Unless you’ve tried baba foods hummus than you are WRONG. baba foods hummus is seriously makes the best tasting hummus ever. They have tons of flavors to choose from, some spicy, some sweet, some garlicky and some unexpected flavors. I really enjoy the habanero hummus dip, it’s super spicy but doesn’t leave your mouth burning with heat at the touch of the lips. Seriously super delicious and goes perfect on the pita chips that they have. My favorite overall product is the garlic dip with sun dried tomatoes. It seriously is the most heavenly taste I have ever experienced. I am a garlic fan and a huge sun dried tomato fan so the fact that these two flavors are so present in this dip makes my heart scream with joy. There’s not much to say other than try all the flavors that they have to offer and if you can’t drive all the way out here I would suggest looking into a local farmers market that may carry it. I read online that they offer some products at costco. I recommend buying fresh from a local dealer. Seriously this is my most favorite line of hummus by far. Not to mention they usually have buy 4 products for $ 12. Seriously love it.

I then told him I’m in the vicinity of his store he hung up on me ??? Why didn’t he whant me seeing his business… I just found out today from a former employee 5÷21÷13 that calling the place filthy would be a complement… Now it makes sense why he hung up

I have been in love with this place pretty much from the first time I have ever tasted it back when hubby and I went to SD for the weekend. I have been following their movements since then and whenever I get a chance, I would always buy in bulk because not only do I love it, my family and co-workers are also crazy about it. WE just love their three layer dip and pita chips!

WOW. I discovered this magic Baba foods at the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market recently. They had a lot of different samples of their hummus and dip out and I tried a few, but when one of the guys gave me a sample of their Three Layer Dip(pesto, sundried tomatoes, feta cheese), I was instantly cast into a trance. I immediately beehived over and bought two tubs. Even days later, I still cannot get the taste out of my head, it was THAT good. *Drooling commencing now* Anyway, brought a tub to work and finished it all by myself in ONEDAY with the pita chips(I recommend Garlic & Parmesan) that I bought from them as well. I admit, I’m addicted to this Mediterranean goodness! Man, do I love me some pesto and sundried tomatoes… I’m definitely coming back for my Three Layer Dip fix! Magic, I tell you. TIPS — –Cash only -$ 4 a tub, 3 of any of their items for $ 11

OMG! is about the only way to describe a Baba Foods experience. It started as a day just like any other, that fateful Saturday. Walking through Costco with the seemingly thousands of other people cramming ourselves in the aisles and edging each other aside with our elbows like a game of «full contact shopping.» If your not quick you might just miss the elusive meatball, pizza, ice cream or fish stick sample. I’m used to enjoying the sweet side of food but that day I sampled the savory Baba Foods hummus. «Oh My. This is spectacular hummus,» I thought. I just had to sample each one of the eight or so flavors and ended up buying spicy pepper, spicy black bean, and avocado & cilantro. In that first week the wife and I ended up going through two of the containers, so back to Costco we went. I didn’t want to miss out on my chance to buy that amazing product again before the traveling hummus show was gone for good. At three 20 ounce packages for $ 12, this seems like a steal. I wanted to buy a bunch, but was leery at just how fast I could eat them. Although, «It freezes quite well for about 3 months at a time», I was told by the guy demoing their products. I ended up buying six of the spicy pepper /black bean that time, I didn’t want to run out. The next 5 or 8 weeks went buy and week after week we opened a new container of the spicy deliciousness. I knew this day would come, but I really didn’t want it to be so soon. I just have to savor this last container for as long as possible. Reluctantly, we cracked open the last of our hummus, which turned out to be about 4 days. It was bitter sweet; well, bitter ‘Spicy’ to be more accurate. I really don’t want to have to go in search of some other hummus, but unless I plan on taking a trip to San Diego, where Baba Foods is based, I think I’m just out of luck. It was almost unfathomable, but imagine the excitement! It was like Christmas, morning as a child. Cracking into that first package to discover your first two wheeled bicycle. Walking through Costco again today, they were demoing Baba Foods hummus! Of course I had to sample them all again. Fun fact, the company rep even recognized me and we had a few minutes conversation. He let me in on a little secret. Apparently they are in Phoenix a few weeks once every 4 to 6 weeks, then he travels to Las Vegas for a few weeks and back again. If you’ve never had Baba Foods hummus, I highly suggest giving them a try, they’re about the best you’ll find anywhere. Happy Unilocaling!

After waiting a week for it to be Tuesday again, my sister and I went to the little Farmers’s Market they have at Mira Mesa High. The guy selling the pita bread, etc. was quite helpful and friendly. I ended up getting the 3 for $ 11 deal(cash only). I got the spicy pepper hummus, lemon pepper pita chips, and tabouli salad. I made a tuna sandwich today with the salad and it was yummy!

Great hummus and nice people! I love the guy at the Mira Mesa Farmer’s Market! I love the sun dried tomato & basil and my husband likes the chipotle. If it’s too spicy then you can cool down with the tzatziki. My husband also loves their pita bread… we’ve tried many different brands, but my husband has come to the conclusion that he will only eat hummus if he has Baba’s pita bread to go with it.

baba foods products are just plain delicious. offered throughout san diego via farmer’s markets and costco, they always provide generous samples of all their products. why? because one taste and you will be sold. its just a matter of finding your favorite flavors! my personal favorite is the spicy black bean hummus. i could eat that every single day if i had it on hand. deal alert: if you are a costco member they are regularly showcased in costco(i know at least mission valley and bayho locations — it might be one week a month at each? not 100% sure). when they are there, the larger tubs are sold 3 for $ 11. thats the way to go! If you can’t consume quickly… you can freeze and defrost later. not exactly the same as they get watered down — best to put in ziplocks completely filled instead of just freezing the tubs. works fairly well.

«Hummus! Hummus! Pita bread, pita chip!» If there’s a slightly aggressive guy screaming this at you repeatedly at a farmer’s market, give him your money. Satisfaction is just about guaranteed(unless you’re an idiot), and prices aren’t bad at all for a bazillion flavors of hummus — I haven’t had a bad flavor yet, but the kalamata olive, spicy black bean, and spicy red pepper are my favorites, though my wife swears by the jalapeño(which is flavorful but only mildly spicy) and the fresh mozzarella soaked in oil. My daughter loves the lemon herb pita chips in her lunch, and for me a bag of pita bread and tub of hummus equals lunch at work for three days, not bad at all given you can get three things for like $ 11.

All their hummus and dips are phenomenal! I was first introduced to all these gems at a farmer’s market. I tried their garlic dip, baba ghannouj, jalapeño cilantro, spinach artichoke dip, pita chips, pita bread, marinated mozzarella, baklava and stuffed olives with garlic… Conclusion: LOVETHEMALL. If you go to Carlsbad or Irvine, you might meet Khaled, who is a very nice, funny and friendly Lebanese guy and he will help you choose your flavors. I can’t wait to try other flavors once I finish the stack of dips in my fridge…

I love Baba Foods hummus & pita chips! I buy them often when they are at Costco for a road show. My favorite flavors are Avocado & Cilantro, Roasted Garlic & Artichoke, Roasted Sweet Bell Pepper. The chips are really good, but I like to buy the soft pita, warm them in a pan on the stove or toaster oven and cut them into wedges. The hummus freezes really well if you don’t finish it(but you probably will). Such a great deal and the perfect thing to bring to a pot luck. ENJOY! Check out where to buy them here:

I luv buying stuff from Baba Foods! You can find them at almost any farmers market with their expansive spread of hummus, dips, pita chips and pita bread. Yummy! My faves are the pesto which you can buy on its own or in a dip with feta cheese and sundried tomato. If you buy it alone you can just toss it in some fresh pasta whoa tasty! The hummus is delish as well, Sundried tomato, Kalamata Olives and so many more. There was one i tried that was super spicy but really good. Oh also try their tabouleh it’s really good. It’s a dippers paradise yummy goodness!

Every Saturday at the Irvine Farmers Market, I’ve got a crisp $ 10 bill earmarked just for Baba Foods. Two hummuses and a bag of pita, please. Oh wait, maybe a hummus, some tzatziki, and that three-layer dip. Or just three hummuses. Or whatever. You know. You can just give me whatever. I’ll eat it. And I’ll probably eat it long before next Saturday comes, giving me about half a week for cravings. I’d take off a star for their hummus making me think most other packaged hummuses taste a little like barf, but I’m not an ass-face. These guys are generous with their samples and you never know what they will give you next! I’ve been having what are essentially Baba Foods Random Wraps for lunch for the last two school quarters and haven’t gotten sick of it yet.
