Calling all GOLDFISH LOVERS!!! I just found the mecca of goldfish. Coast Gem has an unbelievable selection of goldfish from telescopes, Orandas and a huge selection of ranchus. The owner Nimit took his time with me and helped me select the best goldfish that fitted my needs. Prices are high but that is expected for high quality goldfish. I highly recommend this place if your in need of high quality and a huge selection of Goldfish.

Came with the husband to support his hobby! This place focuses on fancy goldfishes and it was exactly what my husband was looking for. Place is clean and almost had an apothecary vibe since most of their merchandise was kept in old wooden bookcases. Not the fish of course! Except for the Betas which lent to the old world vibe since they were kept in glass containers. The owner knows A LOT about his goldfishes so he definitely kept my husband interested for about an hour! Let’s just say we will be returning soon! Come here if you want a store the solely focuses on goldfishes.

I have gotten both of my ranchu here and they always have such a great (and tempting) selection! I always say no more fish, and I’m always lying! I will say that by keeping up with their social media pages, you can stay ahead of the game in terms of knowing when they get their new shipments.

This place really is a gem. My drive here was about 3 hours but I had to check them out (plus I’m too nervous to have fish shipped). I found this place through the goldfishunion on instagram. I do not regret the drive at all. This place is the real deal. No other fish store has ever given me this kind of experience. Everyone in the staff was super helpful and welcoming. I was being very picky on the type of goldfish I wanted and yet this place still catered to my needs. They let me look through all the tubs in which their ranchu were in and let me observe and compare them myself. They helped me determine the gender if each goldfish (and we went through about 20) until finally they helped me find the perfect goldfish. All the other goldfish in the store looked great. Of course there were occasional sick goldfish, but what amazed me was that this place had a whole area just for quarantine. One of the people who worked there even said that they wont be ready to be sold because they want to make sure they’re in good shape. The goldfish were in recovery and I’m so glad they were being treated. It’s understandable that not every batch of goldfish will be 100% healthy. Fancy goldfish just are more prone to diseases because of genetics. I’m glad this place takes great care of their goldfish and if you treat your goldfish like actual pets and not décor, then this is the place you need to go to.

I love the selection of fish that they carry! Love the top quality show Bettas they import from Thailand. I have never seen more beautiful fish than the ones they carry here! The show female guppies are amazing for tanks to add colors! Will definitely be back for more fish. Thank you for providing such beautiful fish at affordable prices.

Well worth the drive to see the fish offered at this store. The store is a little hard to find due to the lack of a front that says Coast Gem but if you follow the signs for a fish store you’re golden.
This shop offers a variety of goldfish and cichlids from all qualities and prices. All their fish are quarantined beforehand and are well taken care of. If you have any questions the staff is very knowledgeable and are happy to help.
These guys are well updated on instagram and other social media to tell you about their latest shipments. If you can’t drive here they do ship and will do their best to make it seem like you’re actually in the shop. The high quality goldfish are well worth the price

This place is awesome, I came in there yesterday looking for ideas in how to start my planted tank and the Old guy (The ower i think) helped me with that and gave me some knowledge about planted tanks. Great customer service and good prices. I’ll be going back this weekend for sure.

I bought two short tail ryukins from coast gem, but one of them has floating problem. It only lives from a week and then dies.
They suggested to eat bins, but it doesn’t work. I think it may be nature problem with this fish.
I felt i was cheated after buying sick fish from coast gem.

Wonderful service and has a the best prices in town. Great selection of fish. They have the most beautiful Goldfish in SoCal.

The people here are really nice and they have great customer service. They will also tell you what you need and not rip you off. They are very knowledgeable and they have everything you need to set up your aquarium.

This review is soley about Coast Gem’s cichlid stock, I can not comment on other fish species:
I felt the same way as Thanh H. in his lower review when I initially saw the awesome looking fully colored 1.5−2″ malawi cichlids…
We thought what have we just stumbled upon, this is amazing!!!
I proceeded cautiously & only purchased 3 cichlids”$ 15 total” as I wanted to believe the BS I was being fed…
My other half wanted every cichlid in the store!
Came home & started doing my home-​work & I know without a doubt that the cichlids at this establishment are doped with hormones «similar to steroids which increase testosterone which brings out more intense male coloration at a younger age, even in female fish»!!! If the females are continued to doping it will result in infertality.
You see tanks & tanks full of fully colored juvenile fish, you should run & not fall for these are premium quality fish from Thailand…
These were nice folks to deal with but how nice can they be using these practices of doping fish cuz color sells? Im very bummed to post this & am not posting cuz I’m out a whole $ 15 for 3 fish.
Just don’t want others to fall into thinking they really found a gem & are getting something they are truly not!
Immediately didn’t feed «their branded cichlid food» after realizing what direction this went & within 3 weeks those beautiful fish lost all their color & may even be females at this point.
I was only looking for colored males & they clearly knew this.
Common practice for fish farms from Thailand to dope there fish but continuation in the states, ill steer clear…
Nobody can change my mind on this review! Owner stated there“s «ginseng» in the food contributing to the coloration of these juvenile fish, but truth of the matter its from «the juice» & not an herb!!! Legit color enhancing foods without hormones will not color juvenile fish that would never color naturally until they are roughly 3″ let alone entire tanks including females.
Im done!

Great service and selection here. I drive an hour from temecula for their goldfish. Sometimes when I can’t make it down I look on their Facebook and order from there. The delivery charge is very reasonable.

(I repost this review because I didn’t rate it) Ive been getting fish from here for a while now yesterday I got 2 calico orandas they also have different types of goldfish tropical fish and Betta fish to they quarantine there fish before selling to one time the ONWER of the store gave my son a free betta fish and my sons betta fish is still alive oh yea and did I mention that they have reptiles to I. Also got my son some fire belly newts from there before. There fish are the cheapest price of fish in town. This place is awesome so I recommend to get fish from there

What a great costumer service. The owner showed me how you can tell wether or not the fish is a female or male. The store has many different kinds of fishes imported in Asia. I bought two fish from the store and I’m really satisfied with the price, and the owner gave me a free fish pellets that can help with the fish colors. Also if anyone is looking for a affordable fishing tank stop by and check this store out. The store has a 65 – 70 gallon tank for only 150 $.

Good quality of goldfish here.
Hope they do little better job on email follow up tho.

This guy has the best goldfish I’ve ever seen. Until finding this place, I had only seen fish this amazing at national fish shows and in magazines. He is able to get select fish from overseas where fish are raised in truly cold climates.- This directly equates to fish with brilliant, dark colors that otherwise are impossible to produce. This shop is THE REAL DEAL! You won’t typically see fish this authentic unless you go to China. The customer service is great and you will not be disappointed if you pay this shop a visit. To anyone who is a serious hobbyist– These are the fish you want, if you really want a stunning and exotic display.

This place is great!!! Owned and operated by an older husband and wife… I about 150 miles a way from there but always head down when I get the itch to add to my fish tank. Been a hobbyist for many years and this is the only place you can find with such a wide selection of fancy goldfish. Hundreds of ranchu’s, orandas, hard to find Ginat yuan boa orandas, ryukins, and they also specialize in betas and lizards. But I’m there for the Goldie’s… If your looking for high quality goldfish go there first… Won’t be disappointed for sure!!!
