Paid $ 20 for a wash and flat iron, really nice student, didn’t burned me once (I’ve paid more at reputable salons and been BURNT up… lol) and flat iron came out great! Yuridia did some nice work!!!

Okay I ain’t someone to give a 5 unless it’s amazing, well I went in this morning and Mebal did my hair highlights and lowlights she did the works on my hair, she did an amazing Job I give her 5 plus stars because I’ve paid so much money in the past and had bad jobs done !!! Love my hair and cut Thanks Melba !!!

5 stars for the barbering portion of this school. Although they are all still students, Mr. Gonzalez is clearly an amazing instructor and does a fantastic job of supervising and implementing new techniques for his students. I’ve been following Mr G. For years due to his barbering talents, and am more than happy to offer myself to his students every other week. It may take a few extra minutes longer than your typical barbers, but the school is worth it. Keep up the good job CHDA with the instructor hiring, you have a gem at your CV campus for sure.

I will be stating school soon I am a 40year old mother of too going back to school =) any who for those of you who have had bad customer service I am sorry. Just FYI I was a 3^rd key –Area Manager for 20 plus years in many stores from san ysidro to Wiesbaden Germany. Customer service was my main concern ALWAYS. so please feel free to stop by when I get passed the book section of school. I will be doing barber this time and cosmetology next. I’ve been to CHDA in Chula Vista several times. As a teacher, I like to give students the opportunity to learn and, as someone not too terribly invested in my hair, I feel like I’m a pretty good person to practice on.
I have very short hair, and I like it short. The last few times I’ve gone in, the students haven’t gone exactly as short as I liked in the back, so this time, I brought a picture of what I was looking for. I explicitly asked the receptionist if there was someone who could do a precision cut. She assured me there was. When I met with the student, I showed her what I wanted and she said she definitely could do it. She got the supervisor, who also said they could do it.
They could not.
After sitting for an extraordinarily long time getting my hair cut, mostly by the supervisor, I come home to find that it was not done nearly as short as asked for. Of course, I didn’t catch this at the school, because the student never let me see the back of my head. I only found out when I returned home. I called to talk to the supervisor, and she said that I could come back. It’s already after 9 p.m. — why would I want to return now? I told her that one thing clients expect their hairstylists to do is tell them if the hairstylist doesn’t have the skill-​set o the cut being asked for so that the client can go elsewhere, but that didn’t seem to sink in for her. Given that SHE did the majority of the cutting and SHE directed the student in how to do the minimal cutting that the student did, the responsibility for the mistake clearly fell on her shoulders. She then complained that the front of my hair was too short to do the cut I wanted and, after I explained that the front didn’t matter to me because it was the back that I wanted done correctly, she got very pissed off and told me I could go elsewhere next time.
I certainly will, but I think it’s pretty poor practice for a beauty school to drive away clients who are willing to let students practice their skills on them. Next time, I’ll just pay the extra $ 6.95 and go to Supercuts or something. Or the Paul Mitchell School downtown if I want to continue allowing students to work on my hair. Certainly, I won’t be returning here.

My experience was wonderful fast, efficient, priced well and the staff was great to me and my friend. I looked beautiful for the MC ball and my husband was very pleased. Please check out the pics i posted of my updo with me in the red dress. I will be back, thank you

Horrible !! they charged me $ 70 for a haircut and color of my whole hair. They dyed it the WRONG color and my haircut was horrible !! i was there 5HRS for a bad job !

The day time supervisor is rude and unprofessional, its scary to know that he is in charge of teaching about the business when his customer service «skills» are crap. I give it one star for the girl who does my hair cause she’s awesome and another for the night supervisor, she’s professional. The morning supervisor should take notes from her but even then I doubt he’ll learn anything.

I’ve been here twice. The first time I got a pedicure, manicure and my bangs trimmed. I did not like that on the pedicure the exfoliation was very light she rubbed my feet with a pumice stone a few times and that was it. The manicure and the bang trim were good. The second time I took my 15-​year old brother to get a pedicure, he enjoyed it.
