Karoli Makup School

Please, disregard my original review as I have now found out what this place really is about…
When I signed up, I had asked if it was okay if they took what I had for the deposit which was lower than they usually take, which I was told that it was fine. We agreed that i’d pay the remaining balance before the first day of class and that was that. Well, about 2 weeks ago I get a call from Karen, the same «really nice and welcoming» employee that had helped me sign up, and this time she is not so «nice and welcoming». She was extremely rude, unethical, and unprofessional over the phone with me. As soon as I answered my phone, I was harassed about when I was going to pay them for my class. Karen’s exact words were, «We have 2 other girls who have their money already and want your seat. Are you going to pay or not? The deposit you made wasn’t even enough, we take more than $ 300+ for deposits. You paid less than that.» Well, excuse me… From my understanding, we agreed that I would pay the remaining balance the day before the class starts, in FULL. Also, I had asked if they’d accept my small deposit because that’s all the cash I had on me that day, in which I was told ‘yes’. I felt extremely pressured during the phone call and this raised a red flag.
After hanging up, I started trying to research more about this program. After what must’ve been a couple hours, I found 2 people who BOTH WARNED ME ABOUT THIS PLACE. One was a previous employee who said that the class is not worth a penny. She said that the students wouldn’t learn anything of value, and it was a complete waste. I am very glad that I found this information out, as I would’ve paid this terrible «school» atleast $ 2000.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! If you want to be a makeup artist or just learn a bit more about makeup, do your research and really dig for information. There are many other great schools out there who have staff who have REAL experience in the makeup industry. Anyone can start a makeup line, don’t let the fact that the owner has a makeup line persuade you into anything. Do not waste your money here. I am glad I didn’t pay them a penny more, I have found a much better school with a great reputation that can live up to it’s promises to it’s students.

DO NOT TAKE THIS MAKEUP COURSE! The Karoli makeup instructor by the name of Rosie Delgado is a scam artist. She just wants your money charging over $ 1,000 for a 6 week course. My step daughter & a friend took this makeup course & learned absolutely nothing! The instructor promises all her new students work after you complete her course but does not deliver. She also pushes her students to purchase her expensive makeup kit charging over $ 1,000 by promising work after completion of her course. She then selects her best students, sends them off on a few gigs & dumps them when she finds new students to enroll & take advantage of. My daughter learned nothing taking this course, she just wasted her time & money spending a total of over $ 2,000. She & her friend purchased the entire makeup kit & after an entire year they still have not been able to find work. They did not learn a thing taking this course & do not feel confident enough working in the industry as professional makeup artists. This was a waste of money & time. DO NOT TAKE KAROLIS MAKEUP COURSE! The instructor is a con artist & you will regret it!
