I don’t even like donuts and their donuts are awesome… on the rare occasion I get a donut craving — I always go here.

A Chula Vista landmark! I remember the sign being a little«off» since about my Junior year in high school. I would get a little chuckle out of the K and DO missing. Yes they have nice fresh ‘nuts early in the morning. I remember a dozen being about $ 5 and sometimes bringing them into the office. I’m actually pretty sad the fixed the sign after over 10 years but we’ll always have the memories!

Great tasting donuts! Must be due to the hidden protein I found in the regular glazed. Sounds like they have a FLOURBEETLEINFESTATION. AVOIDTHISDONUTSHOPATALLCOSTS! Poor customer service as well. The lady behind the counter was on her phone the whole time during my transaction.

Great donuts at a great price! This is a must! Great costumer service and atmosphere. Their coffee is always freshh and their donuts are even better! If rather go here than company owned donuts store because it all about quality NOT quantity! Support our local shops!!!

The owner lady was extremely rude to us today. Slamming things down and what not. I’ve been a customer there for years and have never recieved service like that. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

I am not much of a donut person, but I have tried them in many places like yum yum, Krispy Kreme, Duncan, Donut Bar, Vons, Sunny donuts and 7’11. I have to say this is one of the best places. They make really good donuts, the dough is good and the glazed they put on their donuts its just perfect you just have to try them for yourself.

Gross nasty donuts, i had a dead fly in my donut. they also advertise 6.50 a dozen which is a lie. they charge you extra later. 8.99? methinks not

Donuts here are sometimes fresh or sometimes stale. I don’t plan to buy anything from here anymore because every time I have been here the price of the donuts change. The price for a donut has risen 3 separate times in less than 1 month time. One day a donut is 75 cents, next week it is 85 cents, then on a slow Tuesday morning it now cost $ 1.00 for a donut. I never trust a business when they can’t keep the price constant for a normal period of time. I won’t even waste my time returning to KD’s because of the huge uncertainty of their prices and the event I don’t have enough coins on me if the donuts will cost more than a $ 1 on the next visit. Also, one time I bought milk that was like 1 or 2 days from expiring and it was not worth the money since it tasted as if it was already expired, I couldn’t finish drinking it. Lesson learned not to buy milk again here. Huge pigeon problem outside this shop which is really disgusting. I absolutely love the sign saying D’S NUTS. LOL

Was craving some donuts so I stopped by. The sign outside always makes me laugh D’s Nuts. So I decided to ask the owner why they haven’t changed their sign. I guess the sign is not part of their property and they requested to have it repaired my the owner of the lot. I guess the lot owner refuses to remake the sign. So going on to their donuts u can tell its owned by a mom and her daughters. The lady is always there. I am from the east coast and was looking to find some French crullers and they made them their. So happy cause west coast seems to not make them. They were airy, soft and fluffy. Exactly how the easy coast makes them, well Dunkin donuts. Defiantly coming back here.

I was sniffing around the office the other day and my donut radar went beeep beeep beeep!!! I wanted to make sure the people on diets weren’t gonna cheat so i decided to take a couple out of the temptation zone. I’m a sucker for jelly/jam/fruit spread whatever you want to call it… and having it stuffed inside a donut makes me a very happy girl. The strawberry jelly filled donut from KD’s i had was outstanding. The right amount of filling oozed out perfectly from the rounded dough mound and sent my taste buds over the edge! Later on in the day I had a cup of coffee and figured you can’t have coffee without donuts its just wrong! So I got a chocolate cake donut. Not usually on my radar but the pickins were slim late in the day. Let me tell you this donut was so soft and sugary and cake like I couldn’t believe it. Just one bite I told myself, turned into barely a crumb on my plate licked clean. Ofcourse, I had to find out where these came from so I could express my gratitude appropriately. KD, thanks for the donuts!

Seems like Southeast Asians have a monopoly on Donut shops. I had their strawberry cake and chocolate twist donut. The donuts tasted fresh and satisfied my sweet tooth. I received great service and the establishment was very clean. The only gripe I have is with the way the shop is decorated. The walls are lined with completed jigsaw puzzles such as killer whales and unicorns. Who does that??? That shit is tacky as hell.

I love apple fritters with no hariy critters! I’ve been going here for the past 6 months and no other Unilocal review of this place yet!!! I suppose I’ll be the first! Okay, I might be considered crazy for giving this place a Unilocal 5-star rating! However, let me digress: 1.) Fresh, delicious apple fritters! 80 cents for the small one, or a LARGE one for $ 1.50! One can see and taste the real apples! 2.) Family-owned and operated always gets a star from me. 3.) Friendly and fast service also deserves a star! I went to another Asian-owned place on Broadway and got curt service. This place greets you with a smile and a genuine«hello.» 4.) Fresh selection of donuts every morning. 5.) Cleanliness and display of items. That’s important in a donut shop. Have you ever wandered into one of those ‘hole-in-the-wall’ donut shops with selections all over the place which just adds to sheer mass confusion? This place keeps it simple and well organized. If I could give KD’s another star it would be considered a bonus star for the actual location! This place is located on the corner of Palomar and 3rd — a very busy intersection in South Chula. There is a bus stop directly in front KD’s — perfect when you have the munchies during a long bus ride. The Seafood City market and the Auto-Zone are located across from this place. As you can imagine, shopping for groceries and auto parts can bring on an appetite! La Migra offices are located conveniently across the street for those that need to take care of their immigration«papales.» Various other business establishments(laundry and computer repair) are located within a short walk and you have other various medical and law practices nearby. Parking is a major problem here — that is my only issue! Other than that, I wish they had wi-fi and a larger sit-down lounge, or even a patio! Sorry, maybe I’m asking for too much. I ordered their coffee this morning, and it was $ 1.00 in a Styrofoam Dixie cup with only about 8 ounces of coffee — it was small and tasted fairly okay and was strong. I would suggest to the owners to use paper and maybe serve them in larger sized cups. The Burger King across charges a buck for their small Seattle’s Best coffee; you also get 12 ounces, and it taste much better! NOTE: Bring your dollars and coins, as this is an all cash business operation! Duece-out! PS I plan to get some Apple bottom fritters for my two BFF co-workers! This is dedicated to you: «Mandy and Freddie»! XoXoXo
