I think it’s overrated it’s not as good as it used to be the food is always cold and the people at the register and not friendly probably will never go back

I love the food, I’ve probably never complained. But today, I came in and noticed that I forgot my debit card, so I just asked the clerk, Brianna, if by any chance they accepted Apple Pay. She stayed quiet for a moment and looked at me with an attitude and said No! We went on to order my friend orders a Cali Burrito with no sour cream and no pico, then I said I’d take the same but with sour cream and no pico. Then she quickly replied, again with attitude, ‘ours don’t have any’ looking at me with her mean bitch face! So of course I gave her attitude back! She ruined my meal and experience.

Cheap food? Nope. Large portions? Nope. Fast service? Nope. In all seriousness, this location is probably one of the worst Lolita’s. Every single time I come here, I remember why I stopped going and regret it every time. But that’s my fault. Ordered a California burrito that costs twice as much as any taco shop, mostly tortilla you’re eating, hardly any substance. Ordered carne Asada chips, mostly chips with a sprinkle of meat. It’s ridiculous the amount of money they charge and you’re still hungry after eating there. This isn’t fine Mexican cuisine. It’s basically overpriced appetizers. If you do need your«Lolita’s fix» make the drive to the ball park. You’ll probably get your food faster anyways.

To start off the size of the portion of food isn’t very impressive for a 8 dollar burrito(California burrito) so I bought two California burritos and after seeing the size I was a little dissapointed but then I opened it up to put salsa in it and realized about 90% of my burrito was french fries. Most of the other places I go have mostly meat with some french fries. Then my sister went the other day and ordered rolled tacos to go then got home and received Carne asada fries. The employees seem to not care very much or put much attention to the work and orders and it seems the owners really try to take the cheap side and cut corners to save wherever they can rather than having better reviews and happier and content costumers.

What’s going on? I’ve been going to lolitas since 2005 and for some reason the food quality is going down. Just bought carne asada fries and California burrito today and it barely has any meat, all French fries and it’s salt and dry. Very disappointed.

Always a joy to eat at this Lolita’s after they opened in this area. For some reason, their Torta are a lot better here. Their bread is softly toasted, opposed to the other branches, where their Torta breads are toasted crispier. Still great tastingting and due to extensive research of eating at the three Chula Vista’s Lolita’s, I now prefer the Eastlake Lolita’s. The water fountain, TVs’, and spacious seating helps too. I have been a dedicated customer of Lolita’s for over 25 years now.

They open at 8a so if you’re up for a delicious Mexican breakfast, come down. Parking can be tricky during lunch/dinner. There’s a Starbucks next door so you can imagine how crowded it’ll get. I grew up eating Mexican food so I can tell what’s good and what’s not worth your time or money. This place is as close to homemade as you can get. Their service is great. Very nice and respectful. They greet you as you walk in. They have a lot of options to choose from so you don’t have to feel like you’re trying the same thing over and over. They will make an order special for you. They don’t advertise a Machaca plate but I asked if they can accommodate that with double beans instead of beans and rice and they obliged.($ 8.25). They’re very patient. Even with a line, they don’t rush you at all. I understand how difficult it can be to order at a taco shop. If you’re like me, you want one of everything. Price is reasonable for what you’re getting. Delicious & tasty food and a nice portion. They cook everything fresh so it may take over 10 minutes to get your food. Don’t worry, it’s worth the wait. Overall this is definitely one of my top choices for breakfast. Two thumbs up!

Used to love this chain now disappointed with what looks and tastes like frozen to fried food. Disappointing taquitos… You can have them dripping with oil from the fryer or pay another $ 1.25 for them to place a teaspoon of what might be guacamole on top. Used to get taquitos with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and some shredded cheese… I do hope they can return to what made Lolita’s a must have at least once a week.

When I was in high school this was the taco shop to go to. It wasn’t really well known like it is today. It was just an ordinary taco shop that sold quality mexican food and for a great price. Fast forward ten years and Lolita’s now has 4 shops and you would think you would still get the same quality of food and reasonable prices like people used to. Well that sadly just isn’t true. Their quality of food has really gone way downhill and their prices only seem to climb higher and higher. I hadn’t gone to Lolita’s for the better part of two years, but I decided to give it a try recently. Went to this location with a buddy and he ordered a California burrito which used to be the burrito to get from Lolita’s and I ordered the carne asada fries. The Cali burrito was a hefty sized burrito as you will see in many of the photos on Unilocal, but it comprises of about 80% fries and 20% meat and sour cream. The problem with all those fries is it makes the burrito really dry since there isn’t enough meat and sour cream to balance it out. Make you sure you have a drink when you eat one. The carne asada fries were okay… not great, but okay. If you’re going to ask $ 10 for a dish then it better taste pretty amazing. The meat was tasteless and the fries were undercooked which made the dish a soggy mess. Their hot sauces are not much better either. Really watered down and mild taste. The staff are are alright. I personally have never had a problem with them. I give Lolita’s two stars because the food is edible, but for the hype that this place gets I expected to be blown away by the food. Also the prices they charge are simply ridiculous. This place got really popular, but the more popular they got their quality of food began to decline. I would much rather drive the extra distance and go to Alberto’s or Los Pancho’s. There are far better taco shops in Chula Vista. Both in quality of food and in the prices they charge.

Lolita’s Taco Shop is always a great place to come for authentic Mexican food. Every time we visit San Diego this is one of our first places to stop by. Their carne asada fries are my favorite!

There’s about 4 taco shops within 2 miles of where I live. I have a go-to taco shop which I go to 90% of the time due to the convenience of being on the way home. This time I decided to try Lolitas which is in the opposite direction. For the sake of time, we called in our order and was told it will be ready in 15 minutes. By the time we got ready and left the house, it was precisely 15 minutes. We still ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes to get our food. But being busy is a good sign so now I had good expectations of the food. We ordered carne asada fries, a carnitas plate and a potato taco. The carne asada fries was average. The meat had some flavor but the ratio of meat to fries was off. At first glance it looks like plenty of meat, but it really isn’t. The carnitas plate had overcooked carnitas and the beans were not what I expected as well. Although it did not taste bad, it’s just that the carnitas was overcooked. The potato taco was good. The average customer ratings seems to be accurate.

I’ve started working nearby, and Lolita’s burritos have gotten me through several long days already. They’re nothing extravagant, but exactly what I need when I’m craving a simple burrito. I like my burritos with a) lots of meat, and b) not much else in the way. This place definitely satisfies! The carnitas are tasty and plentiful, and I add rice and nix the guac to make it fit my liking even better. That’s pretty much all there is to it. If you like simple, meaty burritos, this place should fulfill that craving.

I have to admit that i have my doubts about this place. I mean it has 3 stars over all. There are people that hate it others that love the place so I had mix feelings. I came in her during lunch hour so it was kind of busy and waited a few minutes for a table.(7 available inside) I order a California burrito with no sour cream and I added pinto beans. I only had to wait about 10min for my order to be ready. The size of the burrito was huge!($ 8.75) As soon as I grabbed the burrito I noticed the french fries. The flavor was great on the meat, the french fries were crunchy and the beans gave it more flavor. Their green salsa from the salsa bar was the cheery on top for the burrito. Great customer service with three registers open and like 8 people in the kitchen. Super fast service and great quality food. I will definitely come back!

This is based on two visits to this Lolitas. The customer service I’ve received here are both friendly and professional. First time I dined in on a busy day but luckily didn’t have to wait to long at all. The patio area is very clean, spacious and scenic however the cheese enchiladas weren’t great. Today I called in my order(4 times cause the phone line was busy) and the young man had a very professional phone etiquette. I had the 2 in 1 and it was very good then I added some pico guac… BOMB! My son & husband said their food was on point as well. I do think their slightly pricy though, but I’d go again.

One of our favorite spots! We know the Owners and played softball with him, when we were younger. Haven’t seen the family in a long time but we still stay loyal when it comes to our mexican food. Good to see a family owned business still running strong and staying busy!

I’ve eaten at this Lolita’s a few times, but yesterday was my first time trying their Machata Breakfast Burrito. It was a delicious blend of tender shredded beef and scrambled eggs, nestled inside a hot flour tortilla. I ordered mine with cheese, which made it extra good! What made it even better, was adding some of their delicious green salsa, which you can find at the condiments station. One bite reminded me of what it feels like being wrapped up in a warm, cozy blanket, on a cold winter’s day. Warms you up on the inside! Another thing I love about this restaurant is the wide selection of food items on the menu. Whether you’re super hungry, or just in the mood for a little snack, there’s something for everyone. Larger appetites can be satisfied with one of their many choices of combo plates. Not so hungry? Order a la carte. I’ve had both combo plates and single items, and my appetite, as well as my tastebuds, were satisfied each time. Now there’s one drawback to this establishment, and that’s the wait. Also, I was looking at the layout of the restaurant, and it seems like they could possibly reconfigure to add more tables, but that’s just my opinion. It would definitely be nice having a place to sit without waiting for another one of their customers to leave. Hey, if you’re hungry enough, the wait will be worth it, because the food is just so delicious! In the mood for some fast food Mexican? I recommend Lolita’s.

I don’t know how I haven’t left a review here before, nor even checked in; this is my favorite Mexican restaurant, and I come in a couple times a month. My most-ordered item is probably the Super Rolled Tacos — 5 rolled tacos with guacamole, sour cream(which I ask them to leave off), shredded cheddar cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese. I normally don’t like iceberg lettuce, but with the pico and the addition of Lolita’s’ salsa roja from their self-serve salsa bar, it tastes good, and I completely clean my plate. Lolita’s has my favorite rolled tacos in town, and I’ve yet to find any other restaurants that compare. Other than the rolled tacos, I’ve enjoyed the California Burrito and the Carne Asada Fries. The California Burrito is large and has good flavor, but I recommend having them add guacamole to it. The Carne Asada Fries here are delicious, but pricey. I prefer to go elsewhere for those, since my go-to place for fries gives a huge container of them for about $ 7, versus Lolita’s’ comparatively smaller«large» for $ 10. One of the best things about Lolita’s is their self-serve salsa bar; both the salsa roja and salsa verde have good flavor, and taste good mixed together as well. I prefer the salsa roja though, as it is relatively spicy, and flavorful, but not overpoweringly so. Some days it’s much spicier than normal, though, so sample a little before adding it to your food if you don’t have a high spice tolerance.

I was craving fish tacos and my boyfriend was craving carne asada fries. So we decided to come here. Fish taco($ 3.25) it came with a very small batter fried fish, salsa, tons of cabbage, and barely any tartar sauce. I was not impress. The fish was dry, too much cabbage and they put too much salsa and it made the tortilla soft and soggy. Carne asada fries($ 9) fries where extra crispy. The meat was good. It was juicy and not overly cooked. Also it came with sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. Definitely sharing size. Overall, we only go here if we’re too lazy to drive to other places. Food here are pricer than other places. Service here is just ok. Don’t expect much from here. Also there’s a salsa bar to the left of the register. And in there is green sauce, red sauce, green onion

Lolita’s has gone down in quality over the past few years. At first, I gave this place 5 stars, but after my recent visits in the past year or so, I think it deserves 3 stars now. I hate to do this because I love Lolita’s, but I’m just never satisfied anymore. Whenever I go here, I stick to their California burritos, carne asada fries, or tsunami burrito/fries(which is new as of the past year!) I think the only thing I’ll get from here if I ever decide I want Lolita’s is the California burrito – it’s always consistent. As for the tsunami burrito/fries, there’s barely any shrimp both times I’ve gotten it. The carne asada fries will have its own paragraph because I have strong feelings about this. Lolita’s is one of the first – if not the first – places I’ve had carne asada fries. The fries always crispy, evenly distributed meat, topped off with guacamole, cheese, and sour cream. It was the epitome of perfection. Nowadays, you have to ASK for crispy fries. Even then, they don’t give you crispy fries. They’re still soggy, what the heck? I give up. The cashiers are rude sometimes too. It can be overbearing because there are so many people, I understand, but don’t take it out on us. Try smiling once in a while!

They need to take control of the SALSABAR! Too many people take advantage of the salsa bar! I go there only for Chix tacos now. But every time I go I see a person or 2 get like 20 damn SALSAS! Are you F’N serious & they only get like 2 or 3 items! I guess a lot of people(Un Latin people) don’t know how to use salsas! And the worst part is they hold up & create a line at the bar & make a mess & don’t care that were waiting. It’s frustrating & they probably only use like half the salsas they take. SMH. I’ve seen other taco shops fix this & they should do it too, they let you get 2 salsas per item & charge you 25¢ or 50¢ for extra salsa. They should do this. I know they do this with the limes now cuz they have them in the back in little bags well they should do it with the salsa as well. As far as there food goes, I don’t get it, I’m not a fan of it. I come here cuz my girl likes it & even then lately she has said it ain’t that good anymore. I think it’s sort of whitewash Mexican food then real Mexican food. And there service is really slow. It’s better if you order it & wait 20 min to go pick it up. The roll tacos here are not good and there menudo here is from the can of Juanita’s, it taste the same. There beans are over cooked a lot of the times. Bout 10 years ago this was the spot to go too but now I rather go to Hermanos Taco shop.
