Best Mexican food! I was on vacation and the restaurant is so nice and servers so friendly and the menu has a large selection and then the best part! The food arrives and it is Huge! And it looks awesome! The presentation of the food was so beautiful I had to take a picture! My son’s garden green salad was so pretty it actually looked like art! The way the cucumber and avocados were sliced and placed around the plate like they were all fanned out and in between those were the tomatoes. I’ve never seen a plain old garden salad look so amazing! Definitely gonna eat there every time I come back for vacation.

I Super Love this place. I was introduced by a friend and loved it. Live Spanish rock music was playing when I came. My type of music. I just love sitting listening to good live music, having a drink and a good conversation. Good vibes! The drinks are good. I love the Sangria they make. Gotta try this place. Had so much fun

Fridays of Radio Semefo… I went out to have a good time and the singer was soooo boring… he was putting me to sleep. Got the worse table in the house as well.

Neighbor and I had lunch today at the E. street, location. my opinion? GREAT. I had enchilada, chili rellano, rice/beans…the 2 main items were good, so were rice/beans, and I’m Picky when it comes to Mexican food, growing up in Arizona, most mexican food in Calif. is so-so. This is a keeper. Sorry it’s 35 miles away, but freeway close! Can’t wait for a Sunday w/mariachi~~~~

If you want to enjoy authentic Mexican food, great service, and good music, this is the place for you. Jesus, Emmanuel, and Gustavo are the best! They always provide excellent customer service. They go above and beyond! The food is delicious, too. Traditional dishes like: Ceviche, Menudo, Carne Asada or Quesadillas they are all excellent. If you want to listen to Mariachis Sunday Brunch or early dinner are accompanied by their great music. If you like something a little more mellow then Saturday’s they have a Trio. If you prefer something more modern they have a live band and a DJ on Saturday evenings at the bar This is a great place for family birthday celebrations or a family New Year’s celebration. We have enjoyed several different events there from birthdays, to retirement parties and they have always done a very good job. Their strawberry margaritas are Yummy! Definitely a five star experience.

Really great taco Tuesday! There are 5 different meats to pick from and they are only 1.50 each. Music is a little loud but worth the quality and the great deal!

Came here with my husband when visiting San Diego. My husband enjoyed their horchata and the margarita was pretty good. We both ordered chimichangas, they brought me beef instead of chicken but it was actually really tasty so I didn’t say anything. Overall we both really enjoyed our dinner and would consider returning on another trip.

To be fair I visited the bar and didn’t eat so this review is about the bar area and the service. The bar area is way too small for a live band, you feel like your ears are going to bleed it’s so loud. Forget about having a conversation with your peeps. Plus, unless you’re a regular in their inner circle, the waiters/waitresses will ignore you.

I also love to go on Tuesday nights for taco tuesday the tacos are really good and the lady serving the tacos is really nice, and i can’t forget my usual drink the cadillac margarita! always a good time at La Quinta!

I give it two stars because the music was okay. It was live which is always cool. We had the appetizer platter and food was basic like something you’d microwave at home. The two drinks(Tamarindo martinis) I ordered had to be returned. Won’t return.

Pros: When it comes to Chula Vista nightlife, this spot has an excellent bar, live music is always awesome and the waitresses are gorgeous. Cons: It get’s packed on the weekend, parking is limited, $ 5-cover charge, food is hit and miss and sometimes you have to wait 30 – 45 minutes unless you arrive early or worst, sometimes your turned away. Still love this spot and have been going back since 2008.

On a recent outing here, I was pleasantly surprised to see they have live music. Didn’t try any food so this review is of the bar area only which got pretty packed and the music was to our liking. Radio Karma, not sure if they are a house band or not, was killing it. My only complaint tho is that the area is pretty small so the loudness was also killing my hearing. I’m not much one for dancing, but dammit, I couldn’t contain myself. Maybe it was the six pack of Modelo’s that I had that loosened me up. The waitress was very attentive and even tho we were a large group, she managed to get my tab spot on. My friends come here pretty regularly, and I wouldn’t mind joining them again.

Depending on what time of day you arrive you can either encounter music videos on the tv’s, lively music or sometimes mariachi. I’ve tried a number of their breakfast, lunch and dinner items and all were Good. The one Great that has never let me down is the Chile Verde plate. One of the best plates I’ve had in the south bay. The OK has to go to service, I’ve had a couple great servers but most are mediocre. The menu is broad so you will find something within your price range.

I’m giving a 5 star not to the restaurant but to our waitress that handled our large group(41) by herself; even though she had her baby 3 weeks ago she worked so hard to make our stayed pleasant she never stopped smiling while giving she was serving us; the food is always good but to my surprise the rest of the waiters/waitresses or even the hostess did not even tried to help her, we did make the reservation n advanced sadly they did not prepared scheduling heavier for the morning shift

We were down in Chula Vista for our daughter’s gymnastics meet and are not familiar with the restaurants in the area. My husband went on Unilocal and looked for a good Mexican restaurant and came across La Quinta. The reviews were good so we invited our friends to join us and we tried it out. When we pulled up, I was a little hesitant, but I figured it would probably be very authentic. We were waited on immediately and our drinks came very quickly. Our daughter and her friend had their competition warm-ups on and the waiter asked if they were coming from sports event. We explained that they had just come from a meet and had placed very well and were satisfied with their performance and he congratulated them. We ordered from the very extensive menu and they were willing to accommodate our special requests. We ordered skinny margaritas which they made from scratch and they were great! We were all satisfied with our meals and our waiter was very attentive. Once we were done eating, our waiter brought out a lovely dessert of a chocolate brownie with ice cream with a big dollop of whipped cream and two candles for our girls as a celebration for their success at their competition. Throughout our meal, there was live music playing in the bar area which was fun and entertaining. I’m sorry that this restaurant is so far from our house, but We’ll definitely return!

Live music man is quite impressive. He’ll lay down songs from both genders and sing them quite flawlessly. The songs during his break times are a little eclectic, but all in good fun and energy. If in the area, it doesn’t hurt to stope by and enjoy a few drinks.

I like this place because they have very authentic Mexican food just like home. But the only thing I didn’t like about this place was that they don’t take«reservations» but then I saw that 3 ppl were going in right away to sit at the Bar which we were told to wait 40 min. We asked how come they get to sit at the Bar before us and their answer was they had reservations. I’m very disappointed because of this.

Perhaps the menu is a bit pricey… where I’m from anyway most would think it so. But 8pm on a Thursday night after a hard days work, this place gave me the 5star experience I needed. Great service from a friendly and attentive waitress(Sara was an absolute perfect waitress… sweet and kept the drinks coming) Dos Cadillac margaritas was my drink tonight and fajitas was the food. Everything on point and delicious. I didn’t eat any of the beans or rice so not sure how they rate(watching carbs don’t ya know) The bar was acting a great mix of current and 80’s upbeat music that worked great for me.

This place is half-assed, backwards. The only reason I have time to write this is because I am still waiting for the drink I ordered with my food, even though my food is here. They brought the adults before the kids pancakes. All plates were hot but the food was barely warm. We asked for chocolate milk for the kids & got scorching hot chocolate. We had to add ice so they could drink it. This always happens when we come in a group. I officially will not being coming with my whole family ever again. We’ll find some place that can handle large mexican families. They suck.

SO disappointed! We had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, especially after reading about their previous location. The salsa was great, as were the chips. We waited for more than a few minutes to order only to be told by the manager that our certificate was«Expired». We tried to show him that it said on it that it never expires. Then he told us that they were under new ownership and therefore would not accept it. Interesting since didn’t know about the change. I wish I could have tried the food, but between the wait for the wait person and the attitude of the manager, we didn’t stay.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants to eat at! This place serves authentic Mexican food plates unlike those other restaurants that claim they’re Mexican food but come nowhere close to it. As you walk in the first thing you’ll see is the hostess ready to take your party. Not a lot of lighting inside but the right amount. The décor is perfect for the place, not too colorful and not too dull. the wait time for anytime that I go is always no more than 15 minutes, which is and huge plus when you’re walking in there with a hulk kinda hunger. The waitress’s/waiters are also very attentive and each one has their friendly and funny personality but service is always on point. Plates are always served hot and fresh and orders made as requested. The margaritas though, whew they satisfy that quench when you’re in the mood for one. Overall the ingridients and food they use taste fresh and delicious. If you ever have family visiting and are in the mood for authentic Mexican food this would DEFINTELY be one of those places.

I live very close to this place, and for years I’ve watched cars circle around a packed parking lot, so I knew it must be good. Last night my mom, an out of town guest, and I were looking for someplace new for dinner, and I thought of this place. Upon entry there was a large fountain and the décor was tasteful. We were seated immediately and ordered a Fiesta Platter and margaritas to start. The quesadillas, mini burritos, and rolled tacos were delightful, as was my perfect strawberry margarita. For dinner I ordered the Carne Asada Plate. The beans were perfect, not runny like so many other places I have been to. However, the carne asada was too thin. Any thinner and I would be calling it the Beef Jerky Plate. For dessert we all shared the fried ice cream, which was delicious and presented with strawberries and chocolate sauce. Aside from the carne asada and the rather silly karaōke going on, the only other negative here was the poor lighting. I saw two other tables besides ours using the light from their phone to read the menu. Overall, this is a very nice place with well-presented food and attentive service that is reminiscent of the better sit-down establishments I have been to in Mexico.

La Quinta restaurant is my favorite Mexican food in Chula Vista area !!! They have live Mariachi band that plays in the afternoon/evenings including a trumpet player in the group. Everything here speaks to an authentic Mexican dining experience. The food is incredible as everything is made fresh and the flavors are brilliant. I ordered a Chile Relleno and cheese Enchilada which had a beautiful presentation. For desert we ordered fried ice cream and tres leche cake, both of which were fantastic. Every time I am in the area I stop by for authentic Mexican !!!
