Pete’s is a family-​owned and operated automotive maintenance and repair station, serving the Southbay San Diego area since 1990. We specialize in Honda, Acura, Toyota and Lexus but can perform most service and repairs on other manufactures as well!

I had hit my 125,000 mark, light had came on, plus she was making a lot of noise. Talked to Lori over the phone she advised to bring her in and I was glad I did, I was super satisfied with the work I got done and I didn’t leave feeling ripped off. I was kept abreast of the work being done, paid what I was quoted at and loved the baby and that she was running just perfect, so job well done! Recommended

Excellent Customer Service!
I called ahead and made an appointment for service. I was informed of all possible charges over the phone, prior to my arrival. I was again informed of all possible charges once I arrived to drop off my vehicle. Lori kept me informed throughout the day as my vehicle was serviced. Honest, fair-​priced, local business… what could be better?

I went in to get my headlight bulbs replaced and was taken care of very well by Lori! My headlights were replaced for just under $ 15 and I was in and out of there in just about 5 minutes! They offer fantastic, friendly, and efficient service. They also tell you the prices in a straightforward way which is great. I would definitely go back again.

Brake & tail lights were constantly on and draining my battery. Found Pete’s on Google with some excellent reviews and wanted to give them a shot. Glad I did. They were very personable and knowledgeable, listened to my problem, and fixed my problem immediately. Mechanic dropped he was doing to work on my car, and I was only there maybe 20 minutes tops, and this was without an appointment. Granted it was a quick replacement of a small plastic piece. But they practice the definitive meaning of customer service. Now my dad wants to take his Lexus there. If I have anymore problems with my Honda, I’m going here.

I’ve been going to Pete ’ s since 1992 as long as I’ve had my Integra. The quality of work is beyond expectation. I trust them totaly with my car. The most important part of the 23 years I have been with them is the trust I have with them and that’s hard to find in a good mechanic.

We have been going to this auto shop for over 20 years! I’ve been meaning to leave a Unilocal post for quite some time, so here goes. Pete is very trust worthy. They will tell you what your car needs done to get fixed. They won’t try to pull a fast one over you. Pete has always been straight with me. They do excellent work. They get the job done in a timely manner. We’ve stuck with buying Honda, Acura, and Toyota because that is Pete’s specialty. Lori who works the front desk has always provided great customer service. We’re glad to have Pete as our go to automotive guy! Btw, my brother and his family have also been going to Pete’s for over 20 years too!

My husband had been taking his civic here for years and now it’s our family mechanic for all of our cars. The service is excellent, we really trust Pete and his team. They are very transparent and communicative. Lori at the front desk is so friendly. And the loaner car (when available) is a very helpful benefit! I highly recommend Pete’s.

I have always found the service to be excellent, the advice and prices fair and trustworthy, and they’ve kept my cars running years longer than I expected. For the longest time, I was taking my 2000 Civic to Honda for maintenance, don’t laugh, I want my car to last forever. But the last time I was there, they wanted to do some job that seemed insanely expensive. So when I was looking for somewhere to take care of my car, I found Pete’s. When you call, Lori will take great care of you!
My first time in, oil change and some other maintenance services and I didn’t have to sell a kidney. Mentioned a small leak, but could wait till next time. 2nd time in, just an oil change, nothing major. It’s hard to find a mechanic you can trust. Honestly, I’m not mechanically inclined, so I have to trust who is working on my car. My dad would tell me, «You don’t need that right now, that can wait,» when he’d look at my car. I kinda feel the same way with Pete’s.
Oh, and when I got into my car when it was done, there was a pack of popcorn waiting for me. Nice touch! I believe my car will last for another 6 years, maybe more!

Dropped off my car here after experiencing stalling issues. They kept my car all day testing it on the road to duplicate the issue but were unable to get it to stall out to figure out what was wrong so I got my car back with no charge. I think most shops would try to find a reason to charge you for something in this situation but Pete’s did not. Something about them seems honest and that they wouldn’t charge you for something you don’t need. Their prices seem fair enough. Don’t think they’re the cheapest place but as others say you get what you pay for. If and when my car stalls out again I am most likely taking it here. Oh yeah they gave me a complimentary bag of pop corn in my car after testing it.

This is place overcharges a ridiculous amount for just changing my spark plugs and routine oil change came to be over $ 600 dollars (as per Lori the secretary). I have had this maintenance done on my vehicle else where for $ 180. They’re ripping people off there.

I have been bringing my cars to Petes Precision since the late 90’s. I have a 1994 Honda accord, 2002 Acura TL and a Honda Odessey 2003. All three cars have never had any major problems because Pete and the rest of the gang have really been on top of maintaining our cars. They are honest, reliable and have reasonable fees. The waiting room is pretty nice. They have a Kurig coffee maker, the latest magazines of Vogue, People, ESPN and Sports Illustrated. They also have Dish network on a 32 inch flat screen. They also let you use one of their 3 – 4 cars for the day if you will be leaving your car.

Lori at the front desk is very helpful and very knowledgeable. Pete is also very helpful and quick. I was very pleased with the service. I came in for an oil change and to have my brake pads and brake rotors replaced. Lori explained exactly what the problem was and showed me my severely worn down brake pads. I would definitely come back for my next car problem.

So glad I found Pete’s Precision, I was getting pretty hot. My air conditioning had stopped working a couple of months ago and I was scared to take it in to a garage because I have always heard how they take advantage of people needing cool air. Well was I surprised with Pete’s, they found the problem just like that and I was back on the road with 45 degree temp (capability) was I happy,.great job reasonable price. Clean and friendly place… so glad they are in chula vista.

Pete’s is the best! It’s hard to find an auto repair shop where everyone truly knows their stuff in this town but here they are! If you’re going for cheap, well, you get what you pay for. Pete’s is still reasonable and a steal if you consider that the work will be done right the first time and you can trust the whole staff through and through. What more can I say? Just go there!

I have had shady people work on my cars in the past and have always seemed to have a recurring problem. I am pretty loyal to Hondas and Toyotas and it seemed like a natural progression to patronize Pete’s.
I am always late to my appointments and I don’t get chastised too much. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, especially Lori at the front. Pete’s got the George Clooney look going, of course that doesn’t influence his skill with the cars he works on, but they know their craft backwards and forwards. And because of that I will shout from the mountain tops that if you own a HONDA/​ACURA, TOYOTA/​SCION/​LEX to go to Pete’s because they are legit.
They also have K — cups. Although, don’t go when I do because I have a tendency of hogging the desk as my little makeshift office.
The good: very reliable mechanics, do not expect to be led astray. You get a popcorn at the end, you’ll see. Super nice folks.
The bad: waiting for your car especially after reading all the national geographics and doing all the word puzzles. I guess that really isn’t their fault.
verdict. If you couldn’t tell, I like this place a lot.

Great customer service!!!
You need to be able to trust your mechanics and here you do. They are good people, doing a good job. They are honest and will talk to you about all your choices instead of just trying to up sell you the most expensive choice. They are not pushy, and it doesn’t feel like its a salesman talking.
The women at the front counter (Lori) is awesome! She is friendly and makes your feel comfortable when leaving your car. Pete and Keno are knowledgeable and are great at what they do! We have been going here for over 15 years!
I would recommend them to anyone who wants a honest hard working mechanic. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with our cars.
