Sears Optical

After attempting unsuccessfully to schedule an eye exam online, drove 40 minutes over to the Broadway store, where the Sears Optical receptionist confirmed that the Sears Optical website doesn’t work for appointments. As the Doctor wasn’t in that day, made an appointment for the next day. When mentioning my AARP card, where the Sears Optical website clearly states that «no eye exam will cost more than $ 45», and furthermore that at this location would cost no more than $ 40, the receptionist stated flatly that the minimum eye exam would be $ 55, even presenting my AARP card. So this location is just dishonest, and I immediately cancelled my appointment. BEWARE that the Broadway Chula Vista Sears Optical location does not respect what is advertised on the Sears Optical website.

I’ve been to a few optometrist the last six years. The Dr and ladies who work here are very patient and very helpful! I’ve had past experiences where the Dr rushes you and you get what you get. By far the best experience to date.

No, just… no. The only reason why its even getting stars is because the first appointment went well and the eye doctor did her job and the ladies that were there at the time did great for us. HOWEVER. The day we wanted to pick them up, they weren’t ready on the day it was suppose to be ready AND the following day when it was available for pick up I was informed to come and pick it up at a certain time because there would be nobody down there and I went there AT THE CERTAIN TIME and nobody was there. At all. Tried calling anyone to help and was told they couldn’t help. The assistant manager even said there was nothing they could have done. So, Sears optical I’m sorry to say this but, either hire more people because (on a personal level) you really wasted someone’s lunch for nothing. Already struggling with having to wait 10 days to pick up glasses that was for a person with astigmatism.

Awesome experience! Everyone there was super friendly and incredibly happy to be there! Happy to help with anything! I’ve been in a few times since to get my frames adjusted and the employees were always so happy to help me! Love’em!

The Doctor is very nice but this is the most unprofessional poorly run office I have ever been to. The first box of contacts they ordered me were lost for 2 months. I called them a few days ago for verification of my prescription so I could order them from an outside source, the woman, Martha refused to give me my prescription, she would only permit contacts to be ordered if I ordered them through her right over the phone. I told her I needed them over night she charged me for over night shipping and said I should have them next day or the following at the latest. They never came, come to find out she had them sent to the store which I directly told her not to do 3 times because I do not trust them to not loose them. She then resent the to me requiring a signature for $ 50 box of contacts. Ultimately they were sent back as I work and am not home to sign and here I am 2 weeks later with the same ripped contact and more frustration than ever.

My first visit at the office was enjoyable — I worked with a woman named Dottie, who was extremely helpful! Since I was already up-​to-​date with my eye exam, I ordered my contacts and continued on my merry way.
When I was due for new contacts (but not yet due for an eye exam), I called the office again — to my dismay, Dottie was no longer working there and the woman who did answer the phone was extremely rude. I tried setting up an appointment and this woman told me that I had never been to that location.
Her: «M’am, you have never been here. You are not in the system so it is not possible that you have been here before.»
Me: I definitely have been to this location and have ordered contacts. Can you look it up by my phone number? Maybe if I find my prescription box or something? — this is the location in Chula Vista, right?“
Her: Yes– we are in Chula. I can try by your phone number, but I am not seeing your name in here. I believe you went somewhere else.
… I was extremely aggravated but remained calm. I explained that I had worked with Dottie.
«Oh yes — Dottie. She did work here… but I’m still not seeing your name in the system. Can you check to see if you have records to the location that you went to and call back?»
Um, seriously?!! I just confirmed that I worked with Dottie… who you JUST SAID worked there.
I felt like I was talking to a wall.
Finally — like MAGIC — my name must have appeared. «Ohhhh HERE you are.» Clearly someone is unfamiliar with the company software? — poor training, perhaps?
I thanked the woman, despite her grouchy attitude, and made my appointment.
If that wasn’t bad enough, when I did show up there, I wasn’t greeted with a smile, I wasn’t asked how my day was going — nothing. I was treated as my presence were a burden. Clearly customer service is not a priority at this location.
To top it off, the cost of my contacts had nearly doubled since my last visit, as they stopped matching Costco pricing without a notice.
Will not be returning! Save yourself the bother and go somewhere where your business is appreciated and you are treated with respect!

My goodness. I called all over San Diego trying to find a place to get a prescription for glasses and to see if they offered other eye tests that I needed. This place was the only place that actually asked what I needed. I explained my situation to Dr. White and she told me what she could do at her office and what I would need to see an ophthalmologist for if needed. She even gave me referrals! Other places just said, «Eye exams cost this, yes we check that, ok bye» but the tests they could offer would only tell me what I already knew. I needed to see if they had a test that would show *change* in my eyesight and the other places just weren’t listening. Luckily, I found someone who would help.
I called Sears Optical in Chula Vista because there is a promotion where you can get 2 pairs of glasses for $ 99.99 (certain styles). Sweet! Dr. White listened to what I needed, offered referrals just in case and told me exactly what she could do for me. Today, I moseyed on in for my appointment, gave Dr. White my documentation from my previous ophthalmologist and she did her thing. She checked my vision for the things I was worried about and BAM! Done. She will even check the glasses you buy online to see if they gave you the right prescription. Takes about a couple minutes.
When I came here I was kind of confused on where to stand or who to ask for assistance when I came in, but other than that the actual service I received here was great. Oooh, and if you have AAA show your card and you’ll get about $ 10 off your eye exam!
