This Vons is in a large shopping center that I do my regular weekly errands. It has many things that I also use inside of the store. Other vendors and machines that usually you can’t find at other places. Lotto machine, redbox and coin machine. The store is pretty organized and the staff is friendly. The selection is excellent. Pricing is a little high, but worth the price when you are in a rush.

This vons is a little trashy… if you need to go to vons go to the other one, it’s about a mile away and it’s clean. Also this vons doesn’t employ enough workers so you need to expect to wait in a long line. Takes longer to check out than to do the shopping

I am compelled to write a review for this branch because they have done me a solid twice now. The first was when I tried to return an item I bought from another Vons branch. The lady, named Ana, helped me out(she did lecture me that next time, I should return to the proper branch because the stores carry different items and they are losing money on this). Today, I had several coupons and missed one. Even after I paid already, the lady helped me with redeeming the coupon value even if she had to spend a few minutes doing it. The name on the receipt says Chiqui. So thank you to both. Other than the above, I’ve had a fairly good experience overall with this branch. Parking is easy. Place is clean. The prices are usually higher than Ralph’s but it depends on the promotions going on. I have to be very diligent with checking out ads and coupons to get the best value. Today, my total would have been around $ 200…but after coupons and mix and match promotions, it was down to $ 126. Vons should consider lowering their prices now that there’s more competition popping up in Chula Vista.

I had to make a stop at this location since it was the closest to my doctors office. The Vons here is very similar to the one near my home and it’s very clean and tidy.

The pharmacy here is total bs. There are 3 workers and they should all be fired. One male is talking on the phone and it is clearly not a business/pharmacy related call. The second worker, a blonde female, looks over at me and does not even acknowledge that I need help. Finally I got help from the third worker, an Asian woman. She walked towards me slowly while stuffing her face. So unprofessional and quite unsanitary. 2⁄3 workers clearly doing something that they should be doing during work and the blonde lady was just an unhelpful b****. :-)

Live close to Ralphs and Vons. I shop at both depending on what I need and what’s on special. However, at least three times Vons ran out of items advertised in the weekly circular I specifically went to purchase. Feel like I wasted time. I’m just going to avoid Vons and shop a Ralph’s from now on.

Love this Von’s, our old Von’s is on L street but was taken by Haggens and now they closed and it’s an empty space. We always come to this location in east lake and we never have problems with getting everything we need. Today one of the supervisors Madison gave our son a cool Halloween bag at the checkout stand. Kudos Madison! Customer service is always good. The Starbucks employees though can use some work. But besides that the place is always stocked up and the employees are always happy to help us find things when we need them! One of the cool things about this Von’s in particular is that they are never under staffed when it gets busy, they open up registers to eliminate lines which is a plus also! Milk was one of the huge problems we had at the old location on L street, they never had enough on the shelfs and they always ran out, but this store hasn’t had that problem with us yet. They always have fully stocked milk at all times! Keep up the great work! Love this one!

Been going to this Vons since it opened. My family was one of the first to move into the Eastlake community and I can still remember like yesterday how excited everyone was when it was first built. Times have changed. I have given this location many chances since moving back to the area in May, yet every time I regret it. Yesterday, the women at the Deli in the evening(around 7pm) were obnoxiously loud and unprofessional with their personal conversation while slicing product. Not that big of a deal, but when I saw the cheese slices they had cut when I got home, more than half were broken into small pieces or completely crumbled instead of cleanly sliced. The cashier at register 7(on 9÷27÷15 @ 7:30pm) was a total jerk. He was standing weirdly in front of where the line should form instead of behind his register. There was no one in line, so I guess that is his chill spot when there’s nothing to do? Anyway, it was odd, especially since the dude looked annoyed to have to do actual«work» when we approached with groceries. We started putting our stuff down to pay and the guy didn’t greet us or even tell us the total. He just said have a good day, gave us the receipt, and stuffed 30lbs of heavy stuff into a single plastic bag. Terrible attitude. Then there was the seemingly lost dude just roaming around the store with a push broom. My bad for getting in the way of your sweeping duties while I attempt to spend my money in your establishment, but an «excuse me» would be nice when you cut off customers who are looking to buy product. Avoid this place like the plague. Unlike the early days of Eastlake, there are other options in the area now. I won’t be back

I just have to give high marks for the Starbucks kiosk inside this Von’s. Especially if you have to pick up some groceries at the end of the day. Every Barista is welcoming and knowledgeable. At the risk of forgetting some names… go see Hayden, Jacob, Jorden, Jose or Alex for a well crafted Starbucks drink and great service.

I’ve been an Eastlake resident for the last 6 years and this Vons was my home store. Their prices were the best out of every grocery store around Eastlake. So when we found out Haggens took over most of the Vons in SD, I was so happy that this Eastlake Vons remained. Buuut, it didn’t take this Vons long to capitalize on the Haggens backlash. When they realized everyone in the Rancho Del Rey and Terra Nova area were boycotting Haggens and their ridiculous prices and were driving out of their way to this Vons, they quickly raised their prices as well. It seemed like within a month, everything was $ 1 more. I shopped there every Sunday for our groceries so trust me, I noticed it right away. Greed. Plain and simple. Here I thought this Vons would do right by their loyal customers by keeping their great low prices but they did the complete opposite. Well, Vons on Otay Lakes Road, bye Felicia. This is where we cut ties. We recently moved to Rancho Del Rey and we were also boycotting Haggens that was just a few blocks away from us. We continued to drive to this Vons… that is until their price hikes. After that, I said, «Screw this.» and I tried out Ralph’s on East Palomar. I am now a happy, regular customer! They EASILY beat this Vons’ prices by a longshot! Seedless grapes: .99¢ a lb. at Ralph’s…$ 1.99 lb. at Vons 24 oz. store brand flavored sparkling water: .99¢ ea. at Ralph’s…$ 1.99 ea. at Vons Gallon of milk: $ 2.69 at Ralph’s…$ 3.69 at Vons Basic bread: $ 1.99 at Ralph’s…$ 2.99 at Vons I can go on and on but you get the picture. Give Ralph’s on East Palomar a chance you guys! GREAT prices, they were super helpful and friendly, and they have a great coupon app just like Vons. I’m more than happy to call them my new home grocery store. :)

I like this Vons better than the one by Otay Ranch Mall. It seems bigger and seems to have a bigger selection. I’m glad this one isn’t turning into Haggens & this one has a Starbucks.

I came in only because I needed some breakfast items and I was in the area. The store is clean and well stocked on a variety of items. The only thing is that everything is over priced and the club members price is the normal price.

Oh, FML! I checked into the wrong Von’s! I don’t normally go to this Von’s because I like self-serve checkout stands and I hate long lines or waiting in lines. But, this is the only Von’s in my area that carries Dudley’s Famous Breads! ~Deuce out(the roof)!

My problem lies with management and customer service. Went to the restroom in the middle of shopping there. There was no lock but I went anyway. In the middle of my business a man that worked there, possibly a manager, opens the bathroom door as wide as it would go and leaves it open for all to see. No knock, no explanation, nothing. People were laughing and I was humiliated. He gave no apology even when I saw him again in an aisle there. I contacted customer service Corporate office but as of yet I have not heard anything back from them. My wife who was shopping with me was shocked when I told her. We will never go back there. Maybe time to step up to a better market like Sprouts or Trader Joes. Karma will indeed get this guy if Corporate doesn’t.

I have been coming to this Von’s for 8 years and for the first time the counter at Starbucks told me that I have to purchase coffee if I want to pay for any other items from the store. WtF kind of customer service is that?! It’s not like he was busy making coffee or had a line to take care of! To make it worst, the staff name«Hayden» says sorry in such a provoking tone! Taking my business to Ralph’s on H St. or anywhere else but this store! This wasn’t the first ugly service I encountered from this store, so save yourself time and your eyes from rolling back… waaaay back! lol!

Don’t even come in here if you are in a hurry. The only reason I come here is for minimal stuff.

Lines always seem to be long when I come here. A cashier was helping a customer for 25 mins and I only needed to buy one thing. Other customers looked very annoyed as well.

Twice now I get charged the regular price for the sale items on Friday. Twice now I cannot find the items that are supposed to be on sale for Friday. Once I had to wait forever to get the item because it was buried in the back freezer. The second time I just walked away. But if you have an advertised sale for one day out of the week for a very limited number of items, wouldn’t it make sense for the person in charge to have those items readily available and more importantly priced correctly? For some reason this seems to be a common occurrence at this store. In addition to that, customer service is kind of hit and miss depending on who you deal with. I think it’s time to explore other options. It almost makes you wish that Walmart and Target super stores would have a stronger presence here in California. At least they get their prices programmed correctly so that customers are not overcharged«by mistake»…

Bad experience today. Typically Busy Sunday afternoon, store is somewhat crowded. EVERY checkout line is at least 8 people deep when I all in. 15 minutes later when I go to check out SAMETHING. Express lanes have 15 people in them and no new registers being opened. Everyone in line looks missable. I get in line half way down the ice cream aisle. 10 minutes later I get to the front and they call out for more cashiers. Whatever. Very poor management of this situation.
