Place is awesome. Staff is wonderful and it’s not a singles gym. It’s my favorite gym. The good — Steam room — Sauna — Whirlpool — Cardio — Weights — Towel service — Daily lockers — Clean — Staff is helpful — Free parking(staff provides a pass for your car) — Free coffee — Pool The bad — Dated everything, but everything works — Group shower/pit showers Overall I love my Y-membership. They have a away program that allows me to use other Y’s in the country(I have used a number of times). It discounts our children’s camp visits to Camp Ernst– which is also great. I recently saw they offered a veteran discount and I asked the staff to change my membership. They did so quickly, painlessly. It has been a great experience for me. Yes the equipment is dated. It’s still clean and serviceable. It’s not a singles club. Average age is probably higher than more trendy places. All things considered– it’s my gym. Tip: bring a lock for the daily lockers and(always) shower shoes.

The first floor gym was a little disappointing, but then I found the basement gym. Together: awesome. Cardio and cables upstairs. Hammer and lots of freeweights down. Pool is okay. Class schedule is okay. Spin+Yoga classes were great. Everything is a little old, but very reasonably well maintained(except the racquetball equipment). Racquetball courts are good. Locker room is good. Hours good. Price good($ 10/day for visitor).

Great place. Far superior to my old gym. The equipment, while older, is great. They have exactly what I need. The two locker rooms are convenient. They have a pool, weight room, cardio room, and more. And they’re only a short walk from my apartment. Love it!

I love the downtown YMCA. Staff is awesome. Racquetball courts can get a bit hot since they are on the top floor but hey, I am working out so bring it on! From the outside it does not look like much but there is some serious weight equipment downstairs, an awesome indoor pool, a cardio room, brand new spinning room, classes, etc. No children allowed so personally I don’t mind that. My kids don’t need to be hanging out at the gym with me. Too distracting. They do have family hours on the weekends if you need it. The place is O L D. So don’t look at this like you are joining lifetime fitness or anything. It fits my needs fine and I enjoy it. The locker rooms are nice for women and there is a separate room to work out in within the women’s locker room if you prefer one gender. There are showers, spa, sauna and steam room. Don’t come, I want it all to myself. lol.

I’ve tried the rest, but I had to come back to the best — the Central Parkway YMCA is a great gym for me because of the friendly staff, comfortable amenities, large heated swimming pool, and the best thing of all is that I never feel bad about myself when I work out there due to the supportive and friendly clientele. The Central Parkway YMCA puts the ‘great’ in ‘greater cincinnati.’
