Although I am not a member of the Montgomery Municipal Pool, I have been there several times and think it is a very good pool in a very nice area. The Municipal pool can’t be much more than 12 years old and it still has a new and modern look to it. The pool is located off of Hopewell Road behind the Montgomery Police Department, just down the road from the Montgomery Kroger. It is a 232,000 gallon pool, according to the City of Montgomery’s website, and while it’s smaller than some of the«Olympic-size swimming pools» in town, it’s still a great pool. Although there are two diving boards, there are not a lot of deep water levels. In fact, one part of the pool even starts at one inch and gradually slopes downward before hitting a «normal» shallow end level. This makes it a great pool for families with small children. In addition to the diving boards and the kid-friendly shallow waters and a wading pool, the Municipal Pool also has a 30-foot water slide, as well as two lane lines in the pool for those interested in swimming for exercise. The Municipal Pool also has a concession stand and an area with picnic tables, a basketball court, a small play area, and a Gazebo available for picnic/event rental, while pool rental is also available, including for after hours. The pool is also home to the Montgomery Makos swim team, while swimming lessons are available for $ 35 for members and $ 50 for non-members. Season membership passes are available for Montgomery residents and those who work in Montgomery, while non-residents can become members too but at a higher price. Although the Montgomery Municipal Pool isn’t the largest around, it is still relatively new and definitely very nice, and I’ve had nothing but good experiences at this pool. It can get pretty busy, but it is rather spread(the pool and the chairs/lounge chairs) so you never feel too cramped or anything.
