Had a great experience in the shop. I brought in my daughter’s bike for a brake pad replacement and they fixed it within 20 minutes while after getting a fantastic deal on a 4 bike vehicle rack, my daughter and I attempted to install the rack and the guys came out to help us. No charge! Sweet, soft-​spoken young men that really know what they are doing. Thank you again!

This is my LBC. When I first started going in here it was at their old location on the corner of auburn and old auburn. It was a lot closer to me, but it’s not up to me where they have their shop. The owner’s son used to rub me the wrong way at first. But after going in there for so long I guess I got used to his demeanor. I work on old bikes, and parts can be hard to find. I have been surprised by the amount of times I’ve been able to walk out of Elite with exactly what I need to fix up an old Schwinn. But I don’t rely on them to have everything I need. They have a great selection of parts, bikes, gear, scooters, and my favorite the miscellaneous discount bin. They have always greeted me upon my entry and after a short second of trying to hone in on what I need I have always been asked if I need help finding something. The young guys working there all seem to have a BMX background so they are somewhat knowledgeable. It’s the owner and the older gent working for him that seem to be the walking book of bikes there. Overall a good bike shop to go to, and more then likely they have what your looking for in stock at a reasonable price.

So I went into elite bicycles to check it out. I’ve heard so many things about it, so I wanted to see what it was about. Let’s just say it was very awkward. No greetings or anything and I had to go out of my way to ask questions. Even when I asked, it didn’t really seem like they were that knowledgeable. I’m sure they are, but when I asked a young guy about a bike, he gave me the most basic answer which I had figured out that much. If I’m gonna be buying a bike, I want to know the specs and why it’s priced the way it is rather than him saying it’s last year’s model. It already seemed over price to me, but I thought there would’ve been a special reason. No one asked me if I needed help, but instead asked me if I was ready to pay. They have a huge selection of accessories which I liked but it wasn’t that organized. however, if you are into bmx, there’s probably very little for you that they won’t have.

Good selection but seems every time I go in here all the guys act like someone just killed their dog. Just mopeing around and look all pissed if you have a question. Like they are too good. Smile you weirdos

LOVE Elite Bicycles! The service and the selection is far above any other store I’ve been in. They are more than happy to spend the time with you explaining why one product is better over another or why you should spend less on something than you thought you had to. I can’t recommend them enough.

As embarrassed to say this, I can’t fix a bike if my life depended on it. A year back I moved to the Roseville area and had issues with a mountain bike a friend had given me for my birthday. From flat tires, to replacement brakes, and even a bent tire rim, they did fix everything to my satisfaction. It’s a family run business so they keep the prices down pretty low.

It’s been awhile since I rode a bike, never a bike that you would be proud to own. Last week, at my husband’s suggestion I decided to try riding a bike.
To be honest, I didn’t want to spend half a paycheck for a bike but wanted a quality bike. Walking into the bike shop we were greeted by one of the female employees, sorry forget her name.
She was pleasant, knowledgable and friendly. She chose a bike at several price points, but never tried to push me in one way or the other.
I ended up with a great bike at a very great price. We have returned several times for a helmet and a bike for my daughter.
If I would’ve known it was that easy, I would’ve gone in sooner. Nice shop for beginners and more experienced riders. I would highly recommend this local shop and plan on returning for all my biking needs!

Good shop in terms of product and price but that’s where the good news ends. This is one of those shops that are not customer centric and have a very lackadaisical attitude. Shop opens at 1030? No. More like 11ish so be forewarned.

These guys are great! I was looking at a certain bike for my son’s Christmas gift, and they were listed as one of the dealers. When I called for pricing, they were $ 30 cheaper than my local shop, «on the grid». When I went in to pay for it, I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of fixies, BMX and mountain bikes, not to mention the amazing amount of accessories for kids bikes. They had every color of the fixies, which the other store had two. There are about 8 or more colors, and it was nice to actually see in person, rather than a computer picture. Way more than any of the other bike stores I had visited recently. On top of all this, they were very nice to deal with and Not arrogant like the bike shop who shall remain nameless that’s «on the grid». This is my new «go to» bike store!

I decided to check this place out today, so I rode my mt. bike over to get some opinions on my rear brake issues.
I walked in and after a minute this kid asked if I needed some help. I said yes, even though at first glance I was already hesitant to accept his assistance. He looked like he just woke up, or hadn’t slept in 3 days. (Think droopy the dog). He also walked excruciatingly slow and had an «I don’t care about anything» demeanor. (So you can avoid him, watch for a skinny kid around 5’10″, with a short mop of black hair and Vans).
Anyway, I explained how my lever pulled in pretty far before it added brake pressure, and that the disc made some noise. He mashed the brake lever and said «It needs to be bled.» I asked why it would make brake noise if that was the problem, explaining that if there was excessive air in the system it wouldn’t really change where the lever grabbed or cause noise, it would just be spongy. «Nope, it needs to be bled,» he stated matter-​of-​factly. We briefly went back and forth and he basically acted like I was an idiot and he was THE bike doctor, while giving no reason or back-​up for his supreme diagnosis. He then said he would have his manager take a look at it. When he walked over and asked about my bike, Mr. Mechanic told him to look at the back brake pads and then added, «He says the problem is the pads, but it’s hydraulic.» (What a wonderful way to treat your customers; well done!)
The manager came over and slowly changed my view of the shop. He was helpful all around, providing me with a variety of little tweaks and tricks that he had used on other bikes. He found some brake pads for me after agreeing that air in the system would not cause brake noise. Additionally, he told me to try adjusting the tiny Allen bolts in the levers to move them out (something I had looked for previously, but missed due to how small they were).
I arrived home and put on the new pads; the lever pull improved instantly. I then adjusted the levers and now my rear brake works just fine, with ZERO scraping nastiness coming from the rotor!
I would have given the place 1 star if not for the second interaction, which was good enough to bring it back up to 4. Give this shop a try, but do NOT speak with that kid if you want any helpful information or a pleasant experience.

Best bike shop in town. Great prices from low end part to high end at great prices. Knowledgeable staff and these guys ride so they know what they are talking about. Not pretentious and uppity like some places I have been. Hands down my go to place when I am rebuilding a bike or tuning it.

This is my go to shop in the Sacramento Area. The premier BMX selection and they always have the parts i’m looking for. Glad to see they support the local racing scene as well. Avoid mail order, support your local shops!!!

My husband and I purchased a 2010 DK for our son’s 13^th birthday. We weren’t hip to what the kids are into these days so we really depended on input from the bike shop employee. We worked with the owner’s son and he was very helpful. We chose the color and took our new $ 400+ bike home.
Four months later the rear hub stopped engaging so we took the bike back to Elite to have it looked at. They asked us to leave the bike with them for a couple of days and they would give us a call when it was fixed. We were very surprised when three days later an employee called us to let us know we could pick up the bike and there was a $ 20 labor charge for lubing the rear hub.
When we picked the bike up today we showed our receipt to prove that we just bought the thing and the same kid, the owner’s son, told us that the repair did not fall under warranty issue and that «it was just normal for these kinds of bikes to have these kinds of issues». You can imagine our surprise considering our son hadn’t put a scratch on it and the bike had already needed repair.
As previously mentioned by other reviewers, Elite does have a very nice selection of bikes, parts, and accessories. We had planned to buy our other son and my husband bikes for Christmas, but I refuse to spend that kind of money for products that don’t last at a shop that will recommend them and then not stand behind them.

These guys really helped me out. Very knowledgable if you can get past the social disorder. Not the most talkative. But not rude a all. They have a lot of parts and they do repairs too.

If you’re looking for anything to do with BMX, this is the only bike shop you need to go to!
My 4 year old recently started racing BMX and we went to several bike shops looking for a race bike. Couldn’t find one anywhere. Had a few people tell me about Elite, so we checked it out. They have TONS of bikes and really know their stuff.
One of the guys at the shop, Nick, even met me down at the track to see how my son’s bike fit, and he even rode with him for a bit to help him get started!
Service like that is RARE! We won’t be shopping anywhere else!

I always try to support the ‘mom and pop’ type stores when I can BUT… I won’t patronize this one again.
My bike tire went flat so I went here and had it repaired. I paid an ‘upcharge’ for a ‘heavy duty’ tube. I paid nearly 20 dollars for the tube and repair. I took the bike home, got on it to ride and the tire went flat.
I returned to the store. They said it was a faulty stem. BUT ‘we don’t warranty tubes. Yes, but I bought it here, paid you to install it and (you admitted) it was a faulty part. They agreed that most stores would warranty or return it, but ’”because we are not big-​we are a ‘mom and pop’ shop, we can’t do that“
Wow.
In the end, they replaced my tube and tightened my handlebars.
Oh well. So much for trying to support these types of businesses. I am forced to go elsewhere next time. Bummer.

Best Bike Shop in town! These guys really know their stuff! They can also order nearly anything! Also very familar with BMX racing gear/​parts, etc!

Great Shop! If you are a BMXer of any sort, this is the shop for you! They have a great selection of BMX race bikes and a ton of freestyle/​dirt jumpers too! Their inventory of parts and accessories can’t be beat either. Even if you aren’t into the BMX scene, they offer up a great line up of mountain bikes and cruisers too. Truly the place to be in Citrus Heights!
