I visited this carry out Chinese restaurant today on my way home from work. I read the views on Unilocal and they were so so so I was a bit oleary to purchase food from this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised after I tasted it. I ordered almond boneless chicken, egg rolls and wonton soup and everything was pretty good. Make sure you ask for the sauce on the side for your almond boneless chicken. The prices are extremely reasonable and the quantity of food is amazing. You get a lot of bang for your buck.

Love this place! My «go to» dishes are the Almond Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Szechuan Beef. The portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. I found this place when I lived a couple miles away in Royal Oak. I have since moved to Ferndale and I still make the drive to Mui’s when I’m craving Chinese food(which is pretty often). Highly recommend!

Wonton soup was good, but when have you ever had bad wonton soup? Over all I was rather dissapointed with everything we ordered. General Tso’s chicken — hott; chicken was soggy and bland and by no means hott. Sesame chicken;also bland and soggy. Crab Rangoons; more like fried crab wontons, small and nothing special. I’ll stick with far east down the road, I’m never dissapointed with their food or service.

It’s Chinese take out, nothing too fancy. But good Chinese take out when you’re in the mood for some general tso chicken, the emperors garlic chicken it’s pretty good as well. Prices ate very reasonable and they give you plenty of food, you could literally split a dinner combo portion into 3 meals for the day

The last time my husband and I ate here we couldn’t distinguish between his orange chicken and my honey chicken. I thought to give it another try last night and it was probably our last. Sweet and sour chicken is possibly the easiest Chinese food to make at home, let alone a restaurant. So I thought I may as well get that, who can screw it up? The chicken was fine, the portion was good, the rice was same as usual. The sauce did not in any way resemble any sweet and sour I’ve ever had. It tasted vaguely sweet but was mainly a gloopy sad mess. And hubby’s Orange chicken didn’t taste remotely like orange chicken. Only reason they got two stars is because they have great spring rolls. It makes me sad because they are nice people, but there are plenty of other places around to get good Chinese food.

I tried this place yesterday — need to find a local Chinese place that’s pretty good! Overall I liked it. Wonton soup — good, lots of wontons and soup had a good flavor, not too salty or bland. I ordered the almond chicken — also good, but the sauce was lacking some chicken-y flavor, but not bad… portion was huge though, so a good value. My favorite is the warm yeast roll it comes with — reminds me of the place I used to go when I was little(long since closed). I will definitely be returning

Pros: fast and cheap Cons: taste. Food is your basic dumpy Asian take out. Soggy breading and sauces that are sugar and orange flavoring. There is no creativity to the dishes and most are just swimming in a puddle of sauce

I’ve never written a review before… but the food was sooo bad that I had to say something. I’m not a picky guy but the General Tso Chicken that I ordered was terrible at best. The sauce was decent I guess… but the breading was really, really soggy. Plus the rice was really bad. I mean I’ve had bad fried rice before at other establishments… but at least the rice was cooked properly. The rice here was a bit mushy. I feel bad about writing this terrible review. The people who work there seem very nice. However, the food was so bad that it compelled me to post this. P. S. I ended up throwing out the food. Something I’ve only done one other time in my entire life!!!

The egg rolls were really good. I liked that the sauce came in little cups like years gone by rather than little plastic packets like ketchup comes in plus it was really good sauce. the wonton soup was also good with big dumplngs and kind of sweet crispy wontons. yummy! For the meal we got sweet & sour shimp… it looked great and the portion was huge but I wasn’t a fan if the taste… also got Genera Tso but too much like the sweet & sour I will go back for egg tolls & soup but probably not an entire meal.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the area! They’re fast, consistent, inexpensive, and friendly. My favorites are the curry shrimp and shrimp and lobster sauce. I have also had several other items from their menu and never had a bad meal. This is my go to place for Chinese!

I usually do Far East across the street(the two times I’ve done Chinese carryout since I moved to Troy, anyway), but wanted to try someplace new. I got the cashew chicken with wonton soup. Both were good and came with their(sweet bread, I guess?) and crispy wontons. Only thing I don’t really like is that the sauce was a white sauce — is brown sauce with cashew chicken more of an American thing, I guess? I prefer it but haven’t found it yet with takeout. Big portions too, I will have enough for two meals. I didn’t know they have dinner specials so I’ll try that next time, comes with an egg roll. [edit, the next day: OMG. THECRISPYWONTONS. Do they BAKE duck sauce into it?! They’re sweet wontons which I have never had before. Came with the wonton soup. Delicious.]

Well I can say that I am very happy with Mui’s. The food tastes fresh(or as fresh as carry out chinese food can be), and i was very happy with the friendly service. Lets start first with the service: the man at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful when it came to deciding on what to order. Most places will rush you, but not this one. As I was waiting for my food I noticed that when other customers came in the Mui’s crew seemed to know everyone. Return customers are great to see. The food was yummy. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and Mushrooms and it was perfect. The gravy had a great consistancy to it, and the veggies were cooked just right. The rice didn’t have that rust taste to it like most carry out places do. The egg roll was nice and crisp with a small hint of peanut butter or something sugary like that. The portion size was huge and I was able to make two meals out of it. Then they give you a yummy sweet dinner roll. Only problem I had was the fact that my egg roll had been soaked with the gravy from the chicken. I also like their Almond chicken with gravy.

I am not your typical ABC girl, but their almond boneless chicken is incredible. Maybe its the MSG… maybe its their light, fried rice that accompanies the crispy crispy breading encrusting juicy chicken and warm, smooth gravy… I don’t know and I don’t care. This place is always delicious. Mui’s is hands down the best Chinese takeout in the area. Completely amazing every time. I opt for the spring rolls instead of the included egg roll, but both are very good. I usually get three meals out of one lunch combination. Their rolls are heavenly… soft yet dense, somewhat sweet and always perfect with butter, ready to dip in the ABC gravy. And they come with every combination. I have tried other options from there… The Emperor’s Garlic Chicken is good, the Honey Chicken is pretty good too. General Tso’s is excellent, but with all of these I would recommend getting the sauce on the side(I am not a big fan of soggy breaded chicken). As my grandma always says, «Try it, you like it.»
