I did love to eat at Heart In Hand. It seems to be sliding down hill. We went there last week for lunch and it was very poor. Cold, slow service, we stood for awhile before anyone seated us. It would be nice to have a server not covered in tatoos. It would be nice if it could turn around. At this point, I would not tell someone to go eat there.

I am sad to say this gem has closed its doors. After years of excellent service to the community they will be missed! I wish the owner well in their new business. This quaint restaurant features wonderful down home cooking and country charm. I go with family, friends and clients for celebrations of birthdays, closed deals and anniversaries. The seafood crepes are excellent and the breads are amazing and Sunday brunch is the best! Heart in hand is charming and nested in the heart of Historic Clifton Va. It is beautiful here come and try it, Antique quilts on the walls and mood lighting. If you decide to stay, I am a Realtor I can help you find a house. Seriously though, I have been eating here for 12+years and I love it.

Sometimes they are good and sometimes not as good. I’ve been very happy with lunch items, but once at dinner my food was undercooked(fish). That doesn’t work for me.

Terrible value. Tonight, with tip we spent $ 129. We had garden salads(one poppy seed and one similar fruity dressing), crab stuffed mushroom appetizer, one Charleston Seafood entrée and one crab stuffed flounder special. The salad dressings were good. That’s it. I’m finished with good parts. I think they have special machines in the kitchen that suck out the flavor and nutrition before each meal is served.

I gave up on coming here awhile ago after several bad experiences. The food quality was generally alright – nothing to write home about, but edible. Some dishes were even good, although I can’t remember exactly what. However, the service was generally awful. A question about food ingredients got a sneer, and we waited forever for a table. Meanwhile, a waiter was nowhere to be found during the meal.

We had our rehearsal dinner here in 2007. Very good food and the ambiance under the tent is wonderful.

Heart in Hand have got to be more attentive to their customers if they want to stay in business! I came here for the second time on Saturday. It was close to 12 noon, and we stood in the entrance of the restaurant, expecting to be seated. We wandered around and saw just two people dining. We kept waiting, wondering if we would see a member of staff. I suggested we *call* them and see if we could get some service, so hubby picked up his cell and started dialing their number. The phone rang(we were standing next to it), but no one answered it.(We left, and went to the pub across the road and had some amazing fish and chips instead). I’d been here once before(on a Sunday) and the service was spotty, but at least there *was* some. Well, to quote my dad, «don’t complain about the service if there isn’t any!»

A very cute place that accommodated our kids and us for a nice lunch. Cute ambience but not too cutsie. A nice waitress and fast service. The quiche was terrific and the price was great. It’s nice to feel like you’re a long way away from NOVA.

I visited Heart in Hand for the 2nd time today and was thoroughly pleased, again! This is a quaint little restaurant, perfect for Mother’s Day brunch, a bridal shower, or just a meal with friends. My sister and I took my Mom there today for her birthday. Our meal began with delicious sweet corn bread muffins with butter and raspberry preserves. I had a house salad with vinaigrette(their salad dressings are all home made) and while it is green and looks yucky, it is actually some of the tastiest sweet vinaigrette I’ve ever come across! The salad also had a cute little heart shaped croûton on it. They have awesome crab quiche that comes with cinnamon apples and potatoes — for only $ 9.95 — they have a quiche of the day, so if you want to try a certain kind, you can call ahead and request that they make it that day, which is what I did. They have a large selection of desserts and each ones comes with a cute litle heart shaped shortbread cookie. Yum! Very friendly and courteous waitstaff and a great place to dine for Brunch!

Sunday brunch is amazing! Clifton is a little out of the way for most people, but the brunch really is worth the drive. The place itself is super cute and perfect for a date or a day with the girls… The portions are huge… there is a ton of variety… when they offer fresh berries as a side, they literally mean the berries they bought that morning from the market. I had the creole omelet… I think they used 6 eggs to make this masterpiece… all the dressings are homemade… the wait staff was so pleasant and sweet… my girlfriends and I all had different things, and everyone was very pleased…
