Sabor y Sazon is a family run business serving the Clifton community delicious and authentic Peruvian cuisine. Our dishes range from traditional plates like Lomo Saltado, a stir-​fry made with sirloin steak over rice and french fries and Chaufa resembling Chinese fried rice. Our specialty is Ceviche, a world class seafood dish made with fresh raw fish cured in citrus juice spiced with ají or chili pepper. In addition to offering friendly and efficient service when you dine in, we also offer catering for businesses, private parties in our cozy dining room, take out, and delivery services.

History

Established in 2014.

Giuliana and Luis Pinto always dreamed of owning their own businesses. Giuliana born in Lima, Peru was raised in the restaurant industry. Her mother owned a restaurant on the shores of Peru specializing in seafood dishes like Ceviche and Jalea. Her father owned a restaurant in Paterson, NJ also serving traditional Peruvian cuisine. At the ripe age of 15 Giuliana left Peru in hopes of a better future in the United States. While she struggled with the language and cultural barriers in her new home she found comfort in cooking plates of her native Peru. Luis was born in Santiago, Chile to a family of eight. As the oldest son he knew he was looked to as the leader and provider for his family. He also emigrated to the United States in his teens with dreams of providing for his family back home. Luis was also a child of restaurant owners and likewise found comfort in cooking Chilean cuisine in the US. The two mashed up their dreams and the result was Sabor y Sazon, est. March 2014.
