Specialties

Auberge On The Vineyard is a newly remodeled bed and breakfast that sits directly on Alexander Valley Vineyards. Our expansive windows showcase the exquisite scenery that surrounds us, and our guests are often found relaxing on our decks and verandahs, sipping a glass of wine and admiring the gorgeous landscapes and weather. We cater to discriminating adults who enjoy visiting the many artisan wineries in the area, and who also appreciate classic French inspired cuisine. We serve Julia Child omelettes, crème brûlée French Toast, crepes, galettes, tarte tatin, etc. C’est magnifique!

History

Established in 1984.

Auberge on the Vineyard opened for business in 1984 and was the very first bed and breakfast inn Cloverdale, operating under the name Ye Old Shelford House. The Queen Anne Victorian style building was built in 1910, and the carriage house was added in the early 1980’s. In 2010, the property underwent a remodel, and now caters to a younger more hip crowd that chooses understated French styling to the lace and doilies most often found in classic Victorian inns.

Susan Ondack and Roxanne Kolbe purchased the inn in late 2009, and intend to reside in the main house when retired (if we don’t kill each other first – well, just kidding – at least one of us will remain standing.)

We do our very best to make sure that our guests enjoy themselves immensely; our breakfast table is entertaining, our cuisine yummy and plentiful. We offer free tasting passes to most of the many wineries in the area. Northern Sonoma is WAY less crowded than Napa, and our artisan wineries are fantastic!

Meet the Business Owner

Roxanne K.

Business Owner

Roxanne Kolbe and Susan Ondack are the owners of Auberge on the Vineyard. Susan provides the morning entertainment (we try to keep her out of the kitchen). She takes her concierge skills very seriously, and always tries to help guests find the wineries in the area that suit their particular tastes. With over 100 wineries to choose from, there’s always something for everyone here.

Roxanne spends her time in the kitchen, usually whipping up three course gourmet breakfasts that have a French flair. You will not leave here hungry, that’s for sure!
