What a dump! Don’t stay here! Carpet is filthy with cigarette burns. Bathroom was god awful. Shower head had a leak and sprayed the entire bathroom and flooded the floor, the shower was dirty with hair all over the place, not to mention the spider I discovered half way through my shower. I was almost done with my shower when the shower head fell off! To top it all off the sliding door to the bathroom would not open. I had to yell for help. Thank god I wasn’t there alone. There was a pitchfork on the wall, a decoration I assume, so you could end your misery. Thumbs down!

On the plus side, the downtown location is great. Close to restaurants and businesses. But… No A/C, clock/radio didn’t work, and the bathroom is hideous! For $ 20 more I could have stayed at a much nicer place.

Stayed here a few times when wine tasting nearby. Great quaint town and a decent place to stay. Friendly staff and a friendly dog. Although the rooms may need an update, they are very clean. Also the rooms are actually made of real oak, like the name of the inn! And when you stay here don’t forget to walk over to the burger joint nearby — great root beer floats!

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and had free wifi, cable and coffee. the shower was warm and good pressure. were visiting mom in laws house here in cloverdale fron san jose for thanksgiving. the price for 2 nights on short notice was fair. this place has a country bunkhouse vibe to it and beats having to sleep on a couch. If your looking for a hilton type place this is not for you.

I should have checked Unilocal before booking! I booked site unseen on the day of our stay for $ 200, thinking at that price it would be a pretty nice hotel. I passed on a couple other hotels in the $ 90-$ 120 range thinking that those would be too dumpy. This place was dumpy, and expensive. Check to hole punched in bathroom door, check to reeking cigarette smell, check to removeable toilet seat(i.e. broken), check to grey bedsheets and pillow cases, check to brown smears on bathroom wall and antiquated everything. As another Unilocaler pointed out, the only thing this hotel has going for it is the impulse to leave as soon as possible and return to the gorgeous countryside surrounding. Total bummer and baffled at the price. Hopefully they’ll put some of my overpayment towards upkeep.

i stayed here 2 night during the last week of june 2013 first room was 307($ 82) that was decent — large — but shower looked somewhat tacky and bed covers had cigarette burns and discolorations — how expensive is it to put on a new linen??? next night was $ 89 a smaller room and shower worse — didn’t want to touch anything but the . i think — yes– for that price you can get better things

We know someone whose parents often stay here, so we thought it would be acceptable. We weren’t looking for any special amenities, and were tired after a long day of bicycle touring. After calling around, we found many local motels were booked. We made our reservation at this place by phone a few minutes before arriving. When we arrived, the desk person was not expecting us and said there was no room. When we protested, she went into a back room and talked with a man, then returned and said we could stay in the«overflow» room. They only charged $ 99, and it included a kitchenette with a queen bed. It looked like a drunk had punched holes in all the walls and doors. The wastebasket had trash in it. The«nonsmoking» room smelled like cigarette smoke. It was dark and dingy, and felt dirty. At 2:00AM, we were awakened by a call on our cell phone. It was the motel staff, asking if we were still planning on arriving that night!

Did not even have to stay there because and employee helped me pick another hotel. I just googled the website and looked for local hotels in Cloverdale. It looked nice so I checked out the website. Prices where posted and very clear, but when I called to book it they said the price was higher. I understood there was a higher rate for the summer but it still did not match and when I said I would call back the guy decided to say that I was too stupid to read the website and I was a F’n Idiot. When I called back to speak to manager or owner another person answered and told me that they don’t care and never got to speak with them. So unless you want to be abused by very rude and unprofessional people avoid this place at all costs. There are two chain hotels just down the street for $ 5.00 more or stay at a bed and breakfast for $ 50 more.

We looked around for a place to stay because it was late and I was dead-tired and not prepared to make the trek over the mountains to get home. This place was one of the cheapest in the area($ 65 for a single-bed for one night) and the management was VERY nice and accommodating with my questions about the room. I’d prefer if they had more amenities(I don’t think there was a microwave), and a larger shower, but it more than fit our needs, and it was a very quiet night’s rest as well. The room was clean and the tv was pleasant… not sure what else to say.

And my first one-star review goes to… The Cloverdale Oaks Inn! I don’t mind cheap motels, and that’s why I booked two nights here. It was for Friday and Saturday nights, and every semi-respectable hotel in the region was charging $ 150+ a night, and this place was only $ 99 a night. We didn’t think we’d be in the room much, so it wouldn’t matter if we were in a crappy motel. Well, this place looks like it was built in the 1960’s, and it hasn’t been updated much since then. Our room smelled like an ashtray, and I don’t think there are any rooms at the inn that are currently designated for smoking. This was OLD smoke, and it made it pretty obvious that the bed, the pillows, and all of the furniture have been around for a really long time. Between our first and second nights, there was no housekeeping visit to «freshen up» the room. Not normally a big deal, but it’s obvious that these people aren’t even trying. When we checked in, the owner/manager/whatever seemed like a really nice guy, so I hate to bash the place, but I have to be fair. One nice thing was that the overall crappiness of the room really did cause us to get out and do things. But seriously, even if every other place nearby costs $ 50 more than this place, you should really think long and hard about booking a room here.
