Toyota of Clovis

Had problems in the past, with the service department not returning my phone calls. Had the same problem again, when I received no return calls after phoning 6 times, regarding a issue with my Prius. I called the general manager, and he made it right. I got a free car rental, 500.00 cash towards any repairs, and a genuine apology. I guess I am back to being a fan. However, the service department needs better communication and less excuses. Have a feeling upper management sees the service department as the weak link, for me,
in an other wise good experience with Toyota of Clovis. Buying a car is real painless and the sales folks are very nice, as well as the front desk team.

This was probably the best car buying experience we have ever had. Great staff, the exact car we were looking for at the price we expected. Would only go back to them in the future

Purchased my used 2007 Toyota Corolla S (manual) vehicle from here over a year ago. When i purchased the vehicle I was offered the 3 year/​30,000 mile warranty. Before purchasing i did ask the finance representitive if the clutch would be a part of it. His response was that it should be covered with transmission. I remember the conversation because he also went on to say i barely met the requirements due to the vehicle almost at/​exceeding 120,000 miles. I trusted this guy when he said it would be covered. Over a year later I return and of course it is not covered. Made a phone call this morning to service department and was passed around from there to talk to finance. He was busy gave myna me and number and did not receive a call back after an hour. So I. Went in. Met Brittany, nice girl very apologetic for the trouble. Was told that finance didn’t call back because the service department should know how to deal with it. So I went on to the service department, only to be sent back to meet with someone in financing. Met one guy then he turbed me over to the original guy who initially sold me the warranty. Of course denies ever saying that and only showing what is in the brochure on top of that he did not seem to know that theres a clause in the contact that states what is not covered and did not remember me. Did not offer me anything just asked if I spoke to the service department. I ended the warranty not knowing how much will be credited back. Yes, I am a victim. I trusted this guy, I trusted Toyota of Clovis. Will never go back nor recommend this location, I will be losing out on more than just a couple of grand.

Thus far, I am NOT impressed by my 2 visits to the parts counter. First encounter was over the phone when I inquired about parts. They said they do not accept credit cards over the phone for parts so I had to drive 25 minutes away to order my $ 9.00 worth of special order parts and then drive another 25 minutes to pick them up. When I got to the Toyota of Clovis parts department, I was not told (over the phone) that I needed to be over there by 12 noon to meet their deadline for ordering parts that day. Over the phone, I had told them that I needed these parts ASAP and they failed to mention that 12 noon deadline so I had to wait an extra day to get the parts. When I did pick up the parts, the parts guy had a hard time finding the 2 parts and took a long time because of that reason. Second time around, I ran over to the parts counter just BEFORE 12 and NO ONE was at the parts counter. Nobody could tell me when someone from parts would show up. I waited and waited a minimum of 5 minutes. The Toyota of Clovis Parts Dept. deadline of 12 noon came and went so I just blew that place and will now order at another Toyota dealer online. I can buy parts at another Toyota dealer for less money. Toyota of Clovis should at least have a parts person at their parts counter during business hours and should accept credit cards for some low $ special order purchases. Is that really too hard to ask?

Back in 2013, when I went to purchase a new 2013 white Tundra Truck with a factory sunroof, they hardly had any inventory. I don’t like buying when they have to bring in a vehicle because it cost the consumer more money. I buy from the dealer who has the vehicle as I already know the features that I want. Ended up buying exactly what I wanted elsewhere from the dealer who had in stock. They do have friendly sales people who are ready to sale a vehicle.

Where do I begin?! I was recently out shopping for a used car and stumbled upon this GEM of a business. Juaquin was my sales guy and he was so knowledgeable and honest and just a nice guy. I told him what I was looking for and he took me to my dream car, (within my budget lol) I came back the next day to purchase but Juaquin was ill and wasn’t in the office, no problem they set me up with Michael who was a rock star! Honest and personable, he made sure our every question was answered and worked hard to make us happy and ready to buy. Michael filled my tank and even pulled my new car into the showroom and detailed it for me!!! So impressive. The front desk women are so sweet and greet you with a smile and conversation, just phenomenal customer service here. The next day Juaquin called to see if I was happy with my purchase, that’s just awesome! A week later Toyota called to say there was a signature missing and wanted me to come back to sign. Taking into consideration, I live 45 minutes away, they offered to fill my tank AGAIN! Once there they again showed off their incredibly impressive customer service skills, offering coffee and cookies while we wait. I couldn’t be happier and I HIGHLY recommend Toyota of Clovis. Thanks guys!

This is the second car we have purchased at Toyota of Clovis, both times it was a great experience. Gregg did a great job of letting us explore options on our purchase and provided information as asked, he was not pressuring us.
When it came to finance options they explored the best options for us and our payment came in lower than quoted originally. When was the last time that happened to you? I can not recommend Toyota of Clovis more.

Just took 4Runner to get services today. I called in this morning and was told that it was to late today to drop in, but that Toyota of Clovis did offer a «twilight service.» Twilight service, what the heck is that???
The lady on the phone proceeded to tell me that upon request, you can drop your car off between 2pm to 430pm and get a rental car from Enterprise at the expense of Toyota of Clovis. Your car will remain overnight with them and get serviced by around 12pm the next day.
My jaw nearly dropped that this service was even offered! Yes you have the hassle of getting the car from enterprise and you have to bring the invoice d back to Toyota, but still I was surprised that they would even consider doing this!
I ended up not going through with it since the service advisor told me the car would be ready by 4pm (dropped it off at 2:15pm). Got a call around 3:30pm and car was ready. They even washed it!
Great service in my book!
Keep up the good work Toyota of Clovis! Can’t say that other dealers including BMW of Fresno can top this service!

Just made my 5^th purchase from Toyota of Clovis. (16 Tacoma 4×4). These guys have always been friendly, professional and strait up with me, no dealership BS. I only deal with Roger Vann (internet sales) and Raj (financing). I’ve always shopped around before buying each vehicle just to explore my options. But I always come back to this place for the excellent service and great inventory. Come here for your next car.

I can not stress enough what a wonderful experience we had buying a new Highlander from this dealership.
I spoke with Michelle over the phone, she contacted me less than 15 minutes after I emailed for more info and was very helpful. George was my salesperson and he was awesome, low pressure but knowledgable. Raj and KK made the whole financial part simple and painless. My husband has taken his car to the service dept many times as well and been pleased. This is the second car we’ve purchased there & I don’t see myself dealing with anyone else after seeing the way car buying should be done.

this was stop one in the big vehicle search weekend (parentals included). Had stopped in in my past truck searches, and those (multiple visits, though this may have been before Penske took the reins) all went pretty poorly, but we figured with the parents along, things might go a bit better.

as a couple close friends have had pretty negative experiences with this place (at least one has posted a review), i’ll open with the caveat that we only went as far as test drives and talking numbers.

that out of the way, i regret i didn’t get the sales rep’s name to give him credit for his help. took test drives in a corolla and a camry. liked the camry, not so much for the corolla. as far as we went in the process, the rep was very willing to help, running numbers for us and giving us food for thought.
in the end, we went with a lower priced option, though i can’t place any fault of that on their rep; he was super helpful and informative, and not at all pushy. when we finished our visit, the manager even stopped by to ask us what we thought of the experience, and we had no complaints. i can’t speak to how things are handled in finance or after the sale, but at least on the face of it, it seems like they’re trying to improve over how things have been in the past.

Review for buying of car:
I wanted to buy a 2015 Corolla, and I was impressed with the selection that was present at Toyota of Clovis. The salesperson was very informative and honest when explaining the car and the pricing. I was very pleased with the entire process and felt comfortable that the salesperson was not trying to screw me on a car. I spent less on a 2015 car than I did on my 2007 car! Yay!
Review for recall of older car:
I had a recall on my Corolla that needed to be addressed ASAP. I dropped my car off, and it was done relatively quickly.
At another dealership in town, when I had a recall, it would take DAYS and/​or WEEKS to become completed, I appreciated the quickness greatly.
I would not say service is overly friendly, but it gets the job done. It is efficient without being fake.

This review is long overdue. My apologies to the business for dragging my ass on posting this review.
Late March 2015: I got a new job and was planning on traveling to Sacramento for an orientation. 2 days before starting my new job my hybrid started acting strange. I drove (limped) into their business around 10am and left the vehicle with them. They purchased a 2 day rental vehicle for me while they inspected mine. Turns out the hybrid battery went bad. They ordered the battery and replaced it before 5pm the very next day. The whole experience was so timely; to this day I’m still impressed. The customer service throughout the experience was top notch, stellar and just freakin’ awesome. Free cookies too.
I made it to Sacramento that Monday morning with no problem whatsoever. To this day it’s like I have a brand new hybrid. I’m so stoked.
The thing about the whole experience is that the vehicle was still under warranty. So cost of parts and labor was zero dollars.
I can keep writing and still not be able to articulate how awesome that team performed. They really took care of me, and I’m eternally grateful.

I have to let everyone know just how awesome this dealership is because they have taken very good care of us this last five weeks. Five weeks ago, I went shopping for a new truck, and what I needed was a tall order. I needed something that would effectively tow my new food trailer, but also needed something that we could pile all three car seats into. Originally, I was going to buy a work truck as well as a separate small SUV, but after dealing with some other high-​pressure dealerships who really weren’t at all helpful, I ended up at Toyota of Clovis.
My salesperson, George, developed my trust quickly, and went out of his way to explore some options with me. Whereas some of the other lots were quick to try to sell me on a brand new loaded extended cab truck (I didn’t want that because three car seats wouldn’t work well), George listened to my requirements and suggested I look at a used Sequoia. He pointed out that it has the same motor as the powerful Tundra, as well as all the creature comforts of a large SUV. He showed me a handful of Sequoias that were on the lot, and I decided that this car would indeed work well for us. Took a test drive, and went home that day with exactly what I needed.
Fast forward to three weeks ago… Driving down Herndon Ave. and ran right over an open manhole (I’m pointing at YOU, City of Clovis). Long story short, completely destroyed my rear right arm assembly and needed $ 2600 worth of repairs. The truck still has on paper plates! Had it towed back to Toyota, and they got the ball rolling with my insurance AND set me up in a loaner vehicle. Took about a week for the repairs to get done, but everything is back to 100% with my Sequoia. Our service writer, Mike, was very cool about the whole thing, and communicated very well every step of the way. They really put our minds at ease.
Flash forward to last weekend… We went back to Toyota of Clovis and asked for George. He was very happy to see us back and again helped us choose my wife’s new commuter. He told us about THE best deal on the lot that had just been traded in the day prior — a 2010 Camry with one owner and only 30,000 miles. Only thing was that it’s an «as-​is» vehicle, so no warranty. I expressed my concern over this, so he ran our figures both with an extended warranty, and without. Unfortunately, «with» the extended warranty bumped up the monthly payment just a tad too high, so we opted to purchase the vehicle without the warranty. When he sat us down with our loan officer though, we were pleasantly surprised when they threw in a «loyalty» perk and included a four year bumper-​to-​bumper warranty. Our monthly payment stayed comfortably low, we got a great deal on a single-​owner low-​mileage vehicle PLUS we have peace of mind for the next four years!
I’ve always loved Toyotas anyways, but that said, I can honestly say that Toyota of Clovis has been an overwhelmingly positive experience for us. We really felt valued at every turn, and I truly appreciate the great customer service we’ve had. I will gladly recommend this dealership to any of my friends, family and associates from here on out.

I bought a 2015 Prius from Toyota of Clovis. The salesman, Roger, made the process seem less. The finance representative, KK, was extremely easy to work with. Neither individuals were pushy and everyone was straight-​forward. There was a big sale on new cars with 0% interest for the life of the loan and a $ 1000 rebate. The experience was overall good. I’m only giving a 4 because initially when we arrived they seemed a little disorganized and confused about what used cars were in the lot and they couldn’t locate the keys of one of the cars I wanted to look at.

Sales department was good with me when I traded my f150 in for a 2013 tacoma.
The transmission on the new truck went out on me under 5000 miles. Service department put me in a dodge ram 2500 4 wheel drive super duty rental while they put in a new transmission, which was ridiculous. I didn’t buy a tacoma to drive a huge truck for 2 weeks. I had clovis toyota doing my maintenance that I paid for when I bought the truck. The last time I picked it up it was knocking like a freaking diesel motor, I called in to let them know and couldn’t schedule me for an appointment any sooner than a week out! I checked the fluids and the oil was over filled by a quart. One of the service advisors told me that they put a filter on with a tear in the gasket and didn’t notice an issue until it was running and spraying oil… they put on a new filter and basically over filled my truck. When I took it back in they told me there was a tsb out for my truck making knocking noises and the computer needed to be updated. Why they didn’t take care of it before it was an issue is a good question. Basically, I don’t trust them at all. They tried to sell me on extending my service plan… not going to happen

Won’t return to this dealership any longer. They used to be honest and courteous but that is all gone now. I’ve taken my car here for 3 years for all maintenance because I thought they were trustworthy. For warranty issues, they’ll promise to get your car back in a few hours so when they deny your request for a loaner car it’ll seem like it’s not a big deal. Then they’ll call you telling you they need more time and basically you’ll be out a car overnight even though they’re supposed to give you one (if you schedule an appointment and ask in advance).
Also, after going to other Toyota dealerships, I am glad I don’t have my car serviced here any longer since this one just wastes time.
I’ll be honest, the service advisors and staff were always friendly to me, but I’d rather just get the issues with my car fixed the first time instead of having to come back multiple times, only to be told «sorry, we couldn’t replicate it.»
Also, I had another Toyota taken here and they tried to charge a diagnostic fee with the Platinum warranty. Some dealers do this, others do not… if you do agree to paying the «reimbursable/​refundable» diagnostic fee if they find a covered issue with your car, chances are they’ll just take your money and tell you that there is nothing wrong with you car. (I didn’t agree so I took my car back).
For my car under the limited warranty, they wouldn’t fix the locks until I took it back about 3 – 4 times (I had to show a video of the issue that they supposedly could never replicate). My advice to you is check out Madera Toyota (I haven’t tried them but I’ve heard good things).

Good experience overall. Negotiations were not high pressure and I was pleased with the final deal. (At least at the time of this posting). Staff was all friendly and helpful. Only shortcoming was the time it took waiting to sign papers and finish the deal. It was a busy night for them I guess. I wasn’t crazy about the wait but I am pleased to see them doing good business in this economy. I would do business there again and recommend to friends.

Went there over the weekend to purchase a 2014 FJ cruiser. My sales person (Sherwin) was Awesome however his managers were complete idiots. I found an FJ Cruiser at Madera Auto Center for several thousand dollars cheaper than what Clovis was offering. Sherwin did everything he could to get the deal to work but when it came down to it, we took our business to Madera Auto Center and got superb business so I guess I have to thank Clovis Toyota for telling me «good luck trying to get that price there».

Review for service center:
Fast and friendly service. I went for a routine maintenance and they changed some filters. They did it in less than an hour and a half. They have a waiting area with free coffee. The staff was friendly. I gave and extra star for the free cookie at the end of my service! Thanks!
