Grove Pet Service

I booked an appointment for Grove Pet Service to take care of my cats over the Memorial Day weekend. A pet sitter never came — I came home to completely empty food and water bowls, two very full litter boxes, and hungry cats. Needless to say I will not be using this service again. I did receive a confirmation email and was charged for this appointment. I am very disappointed in this service. I will say that I used them over Christmas and everything went smoothly. Not sure what happened this time around.

Full disclosure — they are truly another family for my pets. Anai and Kris take great care of my 2 older dogs and have for 2 years now. My dogs will go straight to their house vice coming home. I never have to worry about the care they receive and I know they don’t even miss me. It’s really the best situation I could imagine.

I have to say moving to Miami I didn’t know many people, recommendations, anything. I have one well behaved cat, and I was so fortunate where I used to live whenever I went away, I had my best friend come in and look after my furry best friend. I was so lucky to have someone I trust, knew was responsible, and most importantly took after my cat so well I didn’t even worry while I was going on.
Then moving to Miami, I didn’t know anyone well enough to ask this. I called my new vets office, and the charges to board were outrageous. Plus, all the stress he would have to go through to stay there for the week, or even a few short days. I knew I had to look and possibly pay more to keep him at home, but at least he would be in a place he was comfortable in.
I looked around online for home pet sitting services, and Grove Pet Service stood out from the rest. The reviews, their professional looking website, their response time with interest, all caught me off guard, but in a positive way. I filled out some detailed information (I was very impressed at the details they wanted to know about my pet) and my free initial visit was set up within a day or so. And the icing on the cake, their prices/​fees were better than the vets! For home visits!
Kris, one of the owners, came over, met with my Mylo, and instantly I felt comfortable. Kris was incredibly nice, sincere, and professional. He explained all questions I had and totally gave me comfort in knowing I chose a well run company. He took down all relevant information, some things I never even thought of when my friend used to pet sit. My first week vacation was scheduled.
Being that when I travel I am often out of cell service, I was nervous like any parent. I emailed Anai & Kris asking if I could get emails with how Mylo was doing. No problem. The customer service just kept getting more and more impressive.
When I got back home, I was greeted by a well rested and energetic kitty who seemed to enjoy his ‘stay’cation as much as I did my vacation. I was left a ‘report card’ with praises and comments about how he was while I was gone. My mail had been taken in, my plants watered simply by asking. Lights put on and off if you chose. They give so many options you might chose to do. Even to completely clean out the cat litter and change it, not just the regular daily scooping.
I was even more impressed when my front desk and doormen made a point to tell me that the company that came to watch my pet was incredibly courteous, respectful, and friendly.
One of the best things using Pet Grove service, is when you get home from vacation, the LAST thing you want/​can do is either rush the clock to get to the vets before they close, or have your pet stay another night. It is the absolute best feeling walking in the door, and you are home, your pet is home, and all you have to do is focus on unpacking and telling others how happy you were with this new pet service you found.
Their scheduling is easy as can be, online and always available by phone or email. If I ever have a question, my emails are responded to very promptly. I really cant thank Kris and Anai enough for the peace of mind they give me when I know I have to be away from my pet. I can’t recommend them enough to anyone who needs pet sitting service with a personable, respected, couple owned and run service.
Again, the peace of mind their company gives me is… priceless.

Grove Pet Service is the best. I have been a proud customer for 6 months now and they have exceeded my expectations. They are always accessible in case you need to make last minute appointments or cancellations and they have been on time walking my dog everytime I need them!
On rare occasions, they have even cleaned up after my pet if he has an accident. They also leave a note after each walk letting you know if your pet did their business and how they behaved.
Excellent service, highly recommend if you want professional care!

Always dependable and always on time. Setting up an appointment is very easy and I like how the sitter will leave a note on the table saying if your pup has done their «business».

I’ve used Grove Pet Service a couple of times now and I am very happy with them. I have 2 cats that I love as if they were my kids and I feel completely at ease with the service. They are assigned a primary care giver which is great. She sends me daily updates with photos of their day. They are happy and healthy when I return too. It’s nice that they are very attentive to my pets and me. I am sooooo thankful for this service! I recommend to everyone.

I have to say, after reading some reviews I had my doubts, but when something comes up and you need someone to take care of your animals, you will give companies a chance, and sometimes they can surprise you!
Well, this was the case, I was very surprise and happy with the quality service and peace of mind they provided.
I had to leave for a week and was in desperate need of someone to take care of my dog Buddy and 5 fishes…
I will say my dog is not the nicest dog, although he is a small dog, he thinks he is a pitbull! LOL… anyways, also my dog tends to get depressed when no one is around, but this time it did not happened, no pee or mess around the house, which that made me pretty happy! I got pictures from Kris via email from the dog and fishes and that really gave me a peace of mind.
I actually lost my flight back so I called them and they where pretty cool about it… really nice people!
I do have to say, when you get a company with service like this, you tend to recommend and use them again and again… well this is one of them… I really recommend these guys!

Excellent pet care service. I recently had to leave town for a few weeks and they took excellent care of my dog Napoleon. My dog is my life and they treated him like a king. They kept in contact with me several times a day to let me know that my dog is doing great. Texted me photos of him having fun on walks. That’s such a relief when I’m on the other side of the country and helpless. Every pet owner knows the anxiety of leaving town and worrying about the well being about your baby.
Highly recommend them next time you’re out of town or you’re just working too damn much to go home to check on your dog.

It did take 9 months but the issue that I had with Grove was recently resolved.
So 9 months ago, I went to Las Vegas and needed someone to take care of my small cat. I called them the night before I was arriving back to Miami, to ask if it was okay that I stayed another night and they feed here at the same times the next day/​same routine (as I had just gotten engaged). They stated that it was fine.
So I came home from my blissful engagement to a sick cat. Her litter box and food bowl were overflowing and she had no water left. Now, I don’t know what happened as I was out of town so obviously I have no idea what went on or what exactly caused her to become sick. All I know is what I came home to.
As in an intense situation like this, I was very angry at what happened. I let them know what happened but I don’t think I expressed the severity and when I wrote my Unilocal review in greater detail, Anai asked me to take it down as she said she had no idea that it was that bad and could go through their insurance company. I did take it down and wrote another one (this is like the third edit now, 9 months later).
As we mostly communicated via emails, it was hard to get the tone of what Anai was saying as I kept taking it as that she was arguing with me. The response that I was looking for (along the lines of) «I’m sorry this happened, we will look into who was at your apartment, we will make sure it never happens again and that photos are taken of the water/​food bowl and litter box before leaving, etc…» and just to say sorry and take responsibility for the event that occurred, maybe issue a credit for the amount that I paid in vet bills and/​or carpet bills. I felt that she was rather weighing all possible options and saying that my cat could have suffered anxiety from me being gone, she could have been sick from the changing of wet food that they fed throughout the week and then dry the last day but not really saying WE messed up, I’m sorry. It just made me very angry as I came home to a house with «gifts» left by my kitty and to hear someone possibly saying that it was my fault, wasn’t what I was necessarily looking to hear as I was not even home…
Now onto the process with their insurance company:
I did try to process a claim with Grove’s insurance company who asked me to submit the vet bills and cleaning bill for my rug. After I did so, I did not hear anything back from them for months. I called and asked what was going on and she said that they were still investigating. Well a month later, I received a letter in the mail saying that they would not cover it as Grove was not responsible for what happened. They did not tell ME personally that it was «frivolous» but they did tell Anai who then passed that information along to me. Obviously, those particular words got me extremely angry as I know what experience I went through and for someone to call it «frivolous» was just downright wrong.
They tried to say that my cat was on antibiotics for positive bacteria that came up in her results. I called my vet and she said that all of maya’s tests were negative except one which is common and in mostly all cats. The medicine was to specifically treat diarrhea, not any bacteria. My vet then stated that she would submit a letter to the insurance company just stating that Maya’s vet tests were all negative except for one which is extremely common in cats and wouldn’t be likely to cause diarrhea. If the insurance company had problems with one of her tests, they should have called my vet. Needless to say, I just gave up with processing a claim with them as I just got tired of arguing really.
Finally, Kris with Grove contacted me and I felt that he was truly trying to make the situation right and thought a bit more logically as far as just saying that they were sorry and telling me that the person no longer works with them who was at my apartment and that they do take pictures of everything now. I didn’t care so much about the money, but I wanted something to be done on their part to show that they cared about what happened to me/​want to make it right. Kris then issued a credit for services through them. I feel that that’s more than fair as that is really all that I wanted was someone to just simply say sorry, here is what we will offer because of it_​_​_​_​. I just wish it was 9 months ago that this was settled and then I wouldn’t have had to invest so much time and energy dealing with their insurance company, but I am happy that it is now fixed!!! Hopefully sometime in the future I will use their services and have nothing but perfect reviews to say.

I have used Grove Pet Service 2 times for my cat. I think it is a great alternative to leaving her at the vet. Now she can be in her own home where she feels safe as opposed to getting no exercise and confined in a cage.
Will definitely use Grove Pet Service again.

I had them take care of my three cats during the Christmas holiday season. I was ok with paying whatever was needed to make sure my cats were ok. At first, they were very responsive and they were able to accomodate me as it was a last minute thing (my usual cat sitter was unavailable last minute). I left instructions as per their account requirements and left them the key under the mat. Two days later I called, i emailed„ left several messages and even had my bf do the same in a futile attempt to find out how the cats were. NEVER did they answer back. I HAD to have my friend check on them as I was now worried with fear that my cats were not being fed. Although everything was fine and the cats had food when my friend went to see them, would it had been too much for them to respond to us? They even ENCOURAGE you to call them in case anything changes or you want to know how they are. Also, I was under the impression that they went at specific times (every two days as in my case). I came home to find my cats ok but the bowls full of food when it should’ve been empty. Although not a deal breaker for me, but as I’ve had sick cats before: If your cats are under a strict diet or require medicine at certain times, BEWARE. Overall, they left a bad impression. I paid for my cats well being and MY PIECE OF MIND. Are they not looking for customers to return? Not using them ever again.

You totally saved us. I didnt know what to do with Cookie at the last minute having to head out of town for a funeral. I heard nothing but good things from you guys and you guys definetly confirmed it. Couldn’t have found a more trust worthy company. We were truly satisfied. Im glad we found you guys and have continued with the daily walks. As you know my wife and I have unusal schedules.
Thank you too for watering our plants. We were embarassed to ask, but we had no choice due to the quick departure to get some help. We know you stated you didnt need anything for the additional services as you were already there and we thank u.

They have taken care of my pet a couple of times and the service is exceptional.
Every time I travel or need a walker I rely on Grove Pet Service. I wouldnt trust my dog with anybody else.
