I have been around firearms my entire life and I left this class feeling even more comfortable about the handling of a firearm. I have never seen a more attentive audience in my entire life as the instructor was extremely engaging and incredibly conscientious of the varying comfort level of individuals and made it a very informed and involved class. This is a MUST HAVE class!!!

I was visiting some friends in the area and decided to tag along to this workshop despite California not being a open-​carry state. There’s really not much else to do in this area so I figured I might as well attend this workshop. Malia, the class coordinator, was flexible about letting me register at literally the last minute to take this class with my friends.
I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the class was designed. The brief lecture was far from boring, the instructor, Chris was very thorough and seemed to be an expert on the subject matter.
Don’t get me wrong — its a long course — almost 4 and a half hours long — but Chris is a very efficient, patient and thorough instructor. I honestly did not realize how quickly time passed because the material content and his presentation/​delivery techniques made the material easy to grasp and understand. I especially liked how he tailored his content to both audiences who have been around and using guns all their lives — to those with limited exposure to them — myself being in the latter group.
What I really appreciate about Chris’s class is how much emphasis he places on safety and awareness — I think that alone shows the level of respect Chris has for an subject area that has drawn countless debates.
I highly recommend taking this course. Even if it may not be legal (yet) to carry in your state, the permit you do end up getting is valid in nearly half the US. In addition, the level of knowledge you take away from this class alone, gives you more awareness and respect for gun use/​safety.

I have been through 3 ccw classes for several states and this is the best. No really it is.
The class was made personal. Questions were welcomed and the power point was on point. Paper work was clearly explained and they showed you how to fill it out. If you have never filled it out before you usually end up doing it twice.
I am looking forward to taking some pistol classes from them…

Let me begin by saying I am a recent transplant to North Idaho and am just beginning to feel at ease in a culture where most people seem to have guns of all kinds, and it’s no big deal. That’s still a little shocking to this Bay Area girl. I have had extremely limited exposure to firearms and firearm safety in my life, while my boyfriend is a lifelong outdoorsman who has been able to confidently and competently handle any kind of firearm since he was a little guy. He signed us both up for Chris’s concealed weapons permit class, for him to actually get the permit, and for me to learn about the rules, regulations, and safety; I was prepared to be bored… WRONG! Chris is a funny, articulate, engaging instructor. He made the 4.5 hour class fly by with presentation that mixed in lecture, video, and class interaction. There is a ton of information (as a true beginner I feel like I could take the whole thing again and it would seem brand new) yet he manages to keep it accessible and relevant to the whole group. He brings a very complicated and controversial legal topic down to a level that everyone can understand. Most importantly, he drives home the point that he wants us to leave knowing his class is about the safety and awareness of ourselves and those around us. Take this class — you will NOT be disappointed!

Took this class and I have to say it was very interesting and will make me more aware of my surroundings! Well worth the time and cost!

OUTSTANDING! By far the best class and live fire course I have taken. From the in-​depth legal instruction brought to you by an active law enforcement official to the live fire course, you can not get a better bang for your buck. Chris takes the time to help you through the drills and answers your questions all while keeping safety priority one. Whether or not you want your concealed weapons permit this is by far the best handgun defensive class available, its was definitely worth our drive from Tacoma. Thanks again Chris and Malia you guys are awesome!
