In my opinion, if you trust your vehicle with your life, do NOT trust these folks with your vehicle. I’ve never seen a more unprofessional auto mechanic shop in my life. They get all of discount tire’s bussiness that can’t be done in-​house. It was a simple stud replacement and they said they could get to it until next week. When I told them that wouldn’t work, they changed their story and said they could get to it in a few hours. I said that wasn’t going to work because my wife is going out of town in a few hours and I want her to be safe. Then, a guy named «Jay-​Jay who claimed to be the owner got bent out of shape and said «You ain’t no customer of mine! Get outta my shop». That’s fine, because I will never set one foot in that shop ever again. Discount sent me to another shop and told us they would reimburse us

Front desk women is rude and they’ll try to overcharge you from the start. Don’t waste your time or money

I’ve had my car brought here twice, and I’ve had great experiences both times. My most recent experience — I had my car towed here by A1 at night after it broke down on campus. The next morning, I called them explaining the situation and asked for an estimate quote/​time since I had to drive back in Houston in a few hours. He (Bill or Bob, I forgot his name) became so concerned and began working on my vehicle immediately. These guys are true Aggies at heart!!! Luckily, it was nothing too serious. However, 4 stars since it is a little more pricey here, but I’ll still choose this place in a heartbeat over any other auto shop in College Station.

After moving to town, I was looking for a good mechanic for my diesel truck. Took my truck in for an oil change and some other minor servicing, when I got a call from the Manager that my truck had completely ran out of oil (impossible since I check my fluids regularly), and I had done permanent damage to my truck, and it now needed a new engine to the tune of $ 7000!
I told them that was ridiculous, and after having him try to convince me I needed this repair, I told him to finish changing my oil and I would pick up my truck. He made me sign a waiver saying that I was knowledgeably denying this repair.
I took my truck to a different (and still my current) mechanic, who said my engine was fine.
It still is fine. I have put almost 70K miles on that truck since the engine needed to be replaced.

Ok, I’m going to be as nice as possible about this place, but I absolutely would not recommend it.
My A/​C was not working, and I dropped my car off in the morning. I later that day get a call that my A/​C will cost me $ 700 to fix it. I told the rep that it was more expensive than i had expected and asked how much it would cost for just the diagnosis they did. (At the time I was single and recently out of college). They told me that it was already going to cost me almost $ 500 because they had to remove the dash to see what the problem was. What?! I didn’t give my permission for a $ 500 dash removal. I think they forgot to call me, and then were trying to cover for it. But I can’t be sure. I argued about this, and got nowhere. They were very rigid. To top it off, the head guy ended up getting rude and unprofessional when all was said and done. They said the reason they would not budge, was that it took them time to remove the dash to see what the problem was (but again, I didn’t give my permission for that.) Well, it really didn’t make much financial sense for me to pay them $ 500 and still not have it fixed, or $ 700 to have it fixed, so ultimately I agreed with reluctance, but have never forgotten. I have never been so upset by a company before. I had my boyfriend at the time go up there with me to pick my SUV up, and he argued with them, and finally got the head guy to admit that he acted unprofessionally, and frankly, rude.
AND, I will also add, that they had «fixed» my A/​C five months prior to this incident. They claimed that other things had broken in the A/​C system since they «fixed» it the first time, and so these repairs would not fall under warranty of the work they already did. After doing business with them a few times, I feel that’s doubtful.
Also, after reading the other reviews, I see that I will probably receive a response from the company stating that they are sorry I had a bad experience (while accepting no responsibility), blah, blah, blah, and I just have to remind Unilocalers that it is good business for them to formally respond and act like there could have been a «misunderstanding» like I saw in a previous response to a Unilocaler about his 16 yr old daughter. My guess is that they are also hoping the insincere apology might ease the reviewer’s mind so they may change their review. So, to the owner of Aggieland Automotive (said politely): this was no misunderstanding, so please don’t insult me with that sort of response. Also, you need not waste your time. My review stands. Thanks.
(After reading the owner’s response, I’d just like to add that yes, this DID happen, and that his absence of acknowledgement should serve as an indication to others. Additionally, had the company provided honest, forthright, and thorough service to me, I absolutely would have appreciated it! Unfortunately, that did not happen.)

This is an update to my previous review based on the owners response below. While the car was there at their shop it is true that they did not actually inspect it before giving the price quote; Thus it appears as if it could have been repaired for less. Based on that fact and the reviews by some other of my favorite Unilocal writers in this area, I would give them another shot. But now I’m hooked on Stratta myself. ;)

I hate going to doctors and mechanics. I always feel like I am at an information disadvantage with both groups. Plus, I always leave feeling like I have been ripped off. Well, after four trouble free years, the check engine light on my trusty Honda told me that I had to start looking for a mechanic in BCS. The dealership was out of the question based on the reviews I read. So, purely based on Cory’s review on Unilocal and a couple of others on the web, I chose Aggieland Automotive.
I got to say that I am happy with the service I received. They explained the issues my car was having in detail in simple English without any auto-​jargon. They took the time to answer all my questions and gave me a very detailed estimate.
While the repairs were not cheap, they were necessary. Their rates were comparable to what I have seen in other towns.

I have to admit that this has been my favorite place to have anything done to my car. They are cheap, fast, and they don’t ogle all the girls that come by. That last part is a HUGE plus. In fact, when I needed to get an oil change on our last car, I decided to time it so that I could get it done while visiting B/​CS so I could come here and avoid the hassle of finding a new place in Houston. Sad, but true.
There is a waiting area with vending machines and knickknacks that you don’t need. Kids love watching the car wash and since the towel dry the cars, you don’t have to worry about streaks. The fact that there’s a Taco Bell two feet away is just icing on the cake since you can actually go eat while your car is being serviced. The service has always been friendly and prompt and even when they’re busy, they somehow manage to get things done without a really long wait.
