D. A. Andy Anderson Brazos Valley Arboretum

This is a hidden gem in College Station. I love walking out to Bee Creek and going on the nature walks. They’re fairly short walks, I do wish the arboretum was larger. But I think it’s lovely and I also use the bike route through the greenway to get to campus. If I had one main critique it’s that I would like to see the trails cleaned up more often, the overgrowth has been an issue with the weird rain spell this year.

Oh come on now City of College Station Parks and Recreation? What kind of a joke is this and who approved the tax payers expense? Now normally on most occasions we are happy with what College Station Parks and Recreation provides. We have no idea how much they spend nor how they choose their developers, but this is absolutely ridiculous.
This «Arboretum» is nothing but a roof on stick legs with a full trash can at the end of a road. Why on God’s Earth someone would want to meet here is far beyond me. I mean if it’s raining I guess the roof can keep you dry, but just look at my photos. Right next to the picturesque view of the cemetery.
This roof on legs should not be called an «Arboretum», should not have the name «Brazos Valley» on it, I feel sorry for whomever the dude is that has his name on the sign and it’s pretty obvious that this was some sort of a project /​expense that just looked and sounded good on paper.
The bright note is that the Parks & Recreation Dept. doesn’t even bother listing this thing on their website.
