Serramonte Subaru

Just picked up a car from Jun. I’d already ordered the vehicle but he stayed until 1030 pm to make sure I was taken care of! Great guy! Ask for Jun!

Met with Richard. Great guy. Patient and helpful. We made a few visits and test drives. No pressure selling. Funny and sociable too.

Though I didn’t end up buying my Subaru here (I ended up at a different dealership in order to get the exact color/​configuration I wanted), a couple of folks from this dealership were helpful while I was in the midst of my car search.
I was especially impressed with Rodell who answered my questions over the phone very clearly. (In contrast, a couple other dealerships I phoned would try to talk to me about financing before even answering my question about whether a particular car was still available in their inventory or not. Total turnoff.) But Rodell was respectful and knowledgable. He checked the inventory and got back to me quickly. It was a relieve to feel like I was interacting with a human being, who treated me the same way.
Also, the quotes I received from this dealership were very competitive.

My experience was one in a million. I got Victor to help purchase a Subaru and I felt lucky I did. We went to search for different cars and met dealers at the Toyota and other dealerships that’s didn’t match up to Subaru’s calm, friendly demeanor. Instead of haggling us he let us make our own choices and made us feel like we’re making the right decision. Hands down the best experience in buying a car.

So my story starts a lot like the others on here expect I’m a member with usaa and for those of hog who are unfamiliar with them, they have a car buying part of their site for the financing and for finding the car you want. Well I ended up getting a call from Serramonte and they told me they didn’t have the exactly color I wanted but they had another and since they didn’t have the one I wanted they would discount it a pretty good amount. So I accepted and told them when I would be there to go through the purchase paper work.
I finally get there after my 2.5 hour drive there and had an appointment with Wayne but because of heavy traffic I was 20 mins later then I said I would be. Once I walked in everything was going like a normal dealership would, I was greeted and I told them I was looking for wayne. I was then told okay and that they would get him but they thought he was with another customer at that time. I was fine with this but this is where the good experience ended. I sat in their lobby waiting on Wayne for a little over half an hour. Finally he came over and greeted my brother and I immediately recognized the «this guy can’t afford a car» attitude due to me only being 22 buy he still had me fill out an application for financing which struck me as odd for I already had a loan set up through usaa and when I asked him about it he said it was just a back up. For what? Why would usaa back out of a loan? Anyway I relunctly filled out the application all while Wayne decided that the other couple he was with was more important than his appointment that drove over 2 hours to see him…
Finally Wayne comes back to get the paper work so I had him everything including the paperwork from usaa and I proceed to tell him twice to NOT run my credit before I test drive the car and what’s stupid is that he agreed but I made the mistake of trusting him and signing the paper that gave him permission to run it anyway. Wayne then leaves me for over half an hour to go deal with the other couple who once again wasn’t his appointment. I understand he wants his commission but I mean come on… have someone come help you!
He finally comes back to me only to tell me that NO BANK WANTED TO ACCEPT MY LOAN. After I told him NOT to run my credit!!! Seriously??? Does he really care that little that people can’t trust him??? So this is the point that I got extremely upset. I ended up calling my dad (who is the veteran that usaa works through to get to me) and he wanted to talk to Wayne as well. Wayne ended up being incredibly rude to my father all wile he was treating my brother and I like crap…
So I ended up walking out and called usaa the following day only for them to tell him that the sales person was WRONG about every aspect of how the loan works through them. He told me he couldn’t get ahold of them (even after I told him I could get them to fax or email the information to him). Usaa said that he was full of it cause that’s not even how the loan works… so I filed a complaint with usaa and they’re investigating the dealership as to why they disrespected 2 of their members even when the dealership has to PAY to be apart of the service… buyers beware of this place… they are not as good as they claim to be. I mean seriously. Just look at all the other 1 star reviews…

The people Serramonte Subaru seem like ripoff artists to me. They want to start negotiations on the price of a car from a price point which is $ 5K above MSRP. We went there to test drive a new Legacy. The car we wanted to buy has MSRP about $ 34K according to Edmunds and Consume reports the fair price for is about 2K below MSRP in the region of $ 32K. When I looked at the sticker where the specs and the price are listed there was an extra pice of paper with a note that there was an additional «dealer» markup of $ 4,999 and the asking price was close to $ 39K. When I asked the sales person what was going on he came up with a story that the extra charge was because the car was in stock and the supply is restricted, so if we wanted to special order the car we would get the lower price. In my experience dealers always want to sell the cars they have in stock, so this sounds like BS to me. However, I decided to go along with the game and we went inside to negotiate on the price of special order.
Of course the negotiation kept coming to the car we test drove and the price they wanted was in the order of $ 39K. I told the sales person that we were not going to buy a car for that money and to come up with the best price, he disappeared for a while to «talk to the manager». While he was gone we looked at the car in the show room. This one was also Legacy but the MSRP was $ 23K and the dealership asking price for it was 28K. Basically whatever the car they just add $ 5K to the price and start negotiating from there. When the manager showed up the same story continued, they were offering us some discount on the outrageously inflated price they were asking, so we had to walk away, which was not easy to do either.
I will never set foot in that place again and would not recommend it to anybody else. Don’t know what the five star reviews here are all about. Either they have changed the management or are writing the reviews themselves.

Purchased my Crosstrek last week! Jun W. our salesman was awesome!!! He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and most importantly, very patient. He wasn’t your usual salesman who obnoxiously pushes you on buying the car. He even went out of his way to call us to let us know that the package and color of the car I wanted was in the back of their lot. So we came back and we ended up buying the car that night!
I give Jun 5 stars!!!

My mom had a mission in mind to purchase a brand new Subaru Forester, so we trailed Serramonte Subaru and we were not disappointed.
We planned to meet a particular sales person, but we ended up waiting a while, and almost leaving, until Jun approached us and offered the best customer service I’ve seen at a dealership. Jun gave us nothing but smiles and great customer service, in addition to giving us all the specs we requested about the car of interest and a nice test drive. He even brought us tea without us having to ask for anything. We also had a very nice experience working with Kevin and Jason when it came to price negotiation and financing.
This was the icing on the cake… This dealership made so many sales the day we went in that the detailing department was really behind schedule (at least 8 cars in front of ours). It was already past 7PM and we were ready to take my moms new car home. So, in an effort to get us out of the door and happy, Jun detailed and washed the entire car and filled the car with gas himself — it looked flawless! I’m giving this dealership 5 stars because of the amazing work by Jun and teamwork between the 3 gentlemen; and most importantly because my mom walked away a very happy woman. Well done :)

This is for their service department. Nobody answers the phone there and they never call you back when you leave a message.

My cell phone became unpaired on my Outback and I spent 45 minutes trying to figure it out. And I’m not THAT lame.
I stopped into the dealership and Gerry Panaligan offered to help.
He changed a few settings and it was paired!!!
I appreciate finding a sales guy who’s helpful even when I wasn’t buying anything. Thanks Gerry! I’m no longer frustrated!

About 1 month ago I purchased a beautiful 2016 Subaru WRX Premium. It was everything I wanted and more. My career is dynamic, and I am always working long and odd hours. Finding time to do anything outside of work, let alone buy a car was not something that was easy for me. For almost a month prior to purchasing my WRX, I worked with Vy and his partner Fuad. They were so helpful, honest, and very patient and understanding. My past vehicle buying experiences were not so great, but coming to Serramonte Subaru was quite the opposite. Everyone at Serramonte Subaru is amazing — From the managers, to the sales reps, to finance. Thank you Vy and Fuad for your help and service.

Just traded in our car for a new car with Don (Floor manager) and Will (sales). Don gave us a good deal and was honest. Will was very patient with explaining all the details and leading up to the purchase.

Our first stop during our car shopping mission and what do you know, we see something we like right off the bat. A few hours later and we’re driving off in a barely used, practically new SUV.
We were lucky to get the next available salesman, Jimmy. I really liked working with Jimmy because he didn’t treat me like just another customer. As soon as we met he asked me some questions and put out some feelers as to what I might be looking for, found a few cars that matched my wants, took us on a test drive, and we got right down to negotiations. He wasn’t pushy at all and backed up everything he stated from the beginning of the negotiations — no bait and switch, no upselling, no false promises. I felt tense at first because of my past experiences with car salesmen in the past but was surprisingly at ease with Jimmy.
We also dealt with one of the sales managers, Kevin. Kevin was a little more firm than Jimmy, but I understand he’s just doing his job. Kevin worked with us to come together on a great deal. I felt as if we saved a lot of money just stating our terms and being firm in what we wanted. It really does pay to do a lot of pre-​planning in terms of the car loan and fair market value of the vehicle.
I will definitely come back to Serramonte Subaru in the future to buy my next car and would recommend this dealership to family and friends.

I highly recommend this Subaru dealership for a no pressure and no bs buying experience.
Before you visit, make sure to ask for Jun Wang. He is a pleasant guy to deal with. Never pushy. Always straightforward.
There were no hidden costs associated with the purchase. The finance guy was great and didn’t have to upsell any extended warranty etc.

So we were looking for a new car for the folks and were at the Chevrolet dealership to test drive a full size highly rated Impala. That was fun but we were going to try the full size Avalon from Toyota also.
On the way we saw the Subaru dealer and since we heard good things about them we went for a check!
Here is what I liked:
1. Meeting the sales rep — Yes you will be greeted by a sales rep right away but that is great. They are pleasant and friendly and not at all pushy. We worked with Rodel and he was very professional considering I did not what a Subaru really. We were just checking.
2. Learning — We learned a bit about the different models and test drove a Legacy. The sales manager Donald came out to say hi to us and to introduce himself. Now this I took as a positive because he was also very very professional and wasn’t giving any sales pitches. He just wanted to let us know he was available.
3. Test Drive — We test drove all over the place and anywhere. Rodel was accommodating and when we wanted to go up steep hills he showed us some great ones up the Guadalupe Parkway. The best part is that the car had lots of gas and wasn’t blinking warning like other places.
4. Leaving– this is the hardest part when you want to leave and of course DONALD came out to ask us what he could do to earn our business today. We told him I was interested in the Avalon and he said no problem, gave us some pointers to remember about the Subaru cars and gave us his card and asked us to come back. We did not have to fight our way out…
5. Now, we went to City Toyota and that was «interesting». No one met us, we had to ask. Took along time to test drive an Avalon and it had plastic all over which made it less than impressive. The shift knob was unscrewed and removed so it was not pleasant to handle The test drive was minimal, barely any gas and very uninteresting. Oddly, I found myself wanting a sales person like Rodel and a manager like Donald to talk with even though I was limited on time. Stewart Chevrolet was nice and the rep there was good but it seemed no one was really interested to sell and discuss as we did not meet any manager.
6. The purchase — very open processes. We went back and Rodel was busy so Joe helped us out and was also low pressure. We were given prices, able to negotiate and got a good price. We then got a better deal from Putnam Subaru and Donald/​Joe could not meet it but gave me their best price. He told me our car would wait and to go to Putnam and see if it works out but he strongly felt his final price was the best. In the end, we drove to Putnam, experienced the lack of price integrity. They offered us a slightly cheaper deal than Donald and Rodel/​Joe but we liked the price integrity, support, honesty and service of everyone at Serramonte Subaru. Price is key and so is peace of mind and knowing you were dealt with in a most professional manner.
7. Financing part was also great and took 20 minutes. No hard sell on warranties!
I highly recommend Serramonte Subaru. Excellent service, pricing and support. Ask for Rodel or Joe! Donald the manager will support them.

I dropped by Serramonte Subaru with the intent of checking out and test-​driving a 2015 6MT BRZ. Rodell was my go-​to sales rep and was very friendly and accommodating. He went out with me for a test-​drive and answered any questions I had. Throughout the entire purchase process, he made sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. Rodell also checked up on me post-​purchase to make sure that everything was running smoothly.
I had to take the car in for the complimentary detail later in the week and they made sure that I had transportation to work/​Bart after dropping it off in the morning. Rodell went out of his way to ensure that either he or another rep would be there to hand me back my car if I couldn’t make it back in by closing time at the end of the day. I was pleasantly surprised because I didn’t really expect this level of customer service, even at some luxury car dealers.
My only negative comment has nothing to do with my sales rep, Rodell. The price negotiation process was a bit drawn out. It would have been great if they had just given me the TrueCar price. After quite a bit of back-​and-​forth, we did get to a fair price and a good deal on the financing thanks to Rodell’s great liaising skills with the management.
If you are in the market for a Subaru, I would recommend Serramonte Subaru and talking to Rodell!

I bought my first Subaru with Will Ng who was recommended to me by my uncle. He was courteous, knowledgeable and overall very happy to be working with him. He even remembered my girlfriends name at the time! The follow-​up was great, and he took care of the process the whole way through, even walked me over how to sync up my phone. Very detailed-​oriented and patient.
The rest of the guys at the dealership were great too. Everyone was friendly and it was a very pleasant car buying experience.

Wally at Subaru dealership was great! Very helpful and informative. Told us about the cars we were interested in, explained the differences between the Crosstrek, the Imprezza and gave us more information about the Outback!
We test drove all 3 cars and he was very patient explaining and answering all our questions.
It was a great test drive experience and he was not pushy about anything. We explained I am just poking to give my parents an opinion about cars they are looking at, my boyfriend talked about possible trade in, but just for consideration to see what they could do. Which we did not end up doing in the endure at experience, even met with the GM and he was great talked to us, gave us personal experience and what we could do movie forward if we still wanted to look into trading in my bfs car.
