I would give them zero stars if I could. First when I leased my Jetta I wasn’t too up to speed on rules and regulations and they forced me to buy 10,000 $ damage coverage for the Jetta that’s not even worth that because «you live in SF» when I went to another dealership recently they told me that coverage is optional not mandatory and I was scammed into buying that. The Jetta isn’t even worth that much anymore…
Before I moved to another state I stopped by to have my 30,000 mile service and a recall item done before I made the long drive. The night before my big move I get a call that my car is ready. I jump in an über and head to the dealership only to find that they haven’t touched my car and they lost my key. After fighting with the manager I got a rental car from enterprise. The next morning I get a call that they found my keys and that I had to return the car that I had already packed. They drove my car without my permission and showed up at my apartment building illegally entered the building and started pounding on my door. When I addressed the dirtbag he started taking pictures of my items and the inside of my apartment. I asked if the service was done on my car and he said «it doesn’t matter I have your car now give me the rental». There was a recall on my rear axle they didn’t want to fix. After I spoke with the general manager they agreed to take my car back and complete the service I had originally requested to have done.
Upon pickup of my car I could tell NOTHING had been done to my car. The wheels hadn’t been rotated and when I called him out he continued to lie to me. I have a scratch on my rim and that rim was still in the same spot. No finger prints on the oil cap and when i pulled the dip stick the oil was still BLACK!
POOR MANAGEMENT AND A BUNCH OF CROOKS! Go elsewhere for service!

This review is for the sales side of the dealership. I’d give zero stars if I could. Here’s why:
We express interest in a Golf R online. Serramonte contacts us with options. We show up, they try to sell us on a 2015 GTI instead and won’t even let us test drive the R. OK, why in god’s name would I drop an additional nearly 20k on a car you won’t even let me drive? I point that out and the sales guy says no test drive until I first agree to pay $ 4k over MSRP. Right.
So, I call Capitol VW and ask if they test drive the Golf R. Yes, they sure do, come on down! In stark contrast to Serramonte, Capitol’s sales guys actually know their cars in and out. The sales guy we worked with not only knew the R, he thoroughly enjoyed showing us the car. We had to do a little legwork to get the car we wanted and Capitol was willing to make it happen – for thousands less than Serramonte.
So, I got the car I wanted, but Serramonte WON’T STOP emailing and calling me. I think it’s a joke to them at this point. I’ve unsubscribed a million times, I’ve told the idiots calling that I have the car I want and still, and almost every day another spam email arrives or yet another sales guy calls.
This dealership is a joke.

I bought a Volkswagen Polo from this place one day ago. They have extremely good service.
David is the guy who showed me the car. He really knows his job and he excels in it. He made me feel comfortable while I was there and made sure I knew what I was purchasing.

and brought it here and they were very helpful. I recommend you buy your new VW from here. Ask for David, he was very helpful and knowledgeable about all the VW car. He was able to help me sync the bluetooth on my phone to my new car. It’s harder than you’d imagine lol. Everything was fast and efficient. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

This review is for the Service Center. It’s just the worst experience ever. Don’t take appointments if you don’t have the ability to complete the work. Why over-​promise and under-​deliver. Wouldn’t it make more sense to book a realistic number of appointments and delight your customers?
Service Center kept me waiting 2 hours after the pickup time for my car. I had tried calling and texting (they provide a quick update text number) beforehand and received no response via either medium so I just showed up about 30 mins before the latest time it would be ready and now I’ve been waiting for 2 hours.
It’s the worst service ever. VW should be pulling out all the stops to win back customers after their law breaking deception but instead they trample on those customers that are already stuck with a ‘clean diesel’ car. I honestly can’t wait to get rid of this thing and never have to deal with VW again.

I just bought a passat SE in Serranmonte Volkswagen store.
I appreciate the Sho (who speaks mandarin) and Ehson’s friendly and professional service. Sho actually didn’t push on me at all, he just saw me as a friend to help me choose the best model and even compared the price with other stores. I feel I am a little bit difficult customer. I called Sho on his day off, however, he answered all my questions patiently and gave me feed back ASAP every time. I am a student, I don’t have too much budget for purchasing a car. Sho and Ehson helped me to negotiate for the lower amount which I can afford it. They definitely offered the excellent customer service. If I need another car in the future, I would look for Sho and Ehson for sure.

Called Ari, spoke to Evan, made a deal on the call, drove from Alamo, Ca to their very nice dealership and two hours later my son drove off in his new 2016 Jetta. Could not have asked for more courteous service and by far the best price and buying experience.
Worth the drive from anywhere in the Bay Area

Leased e-​Golf 2016 SE from Internet Sales Otis with a wonderful experience.
I called Serramonte VW to ask if they could lease me e-​Golf using my requested numbers. Otis quickly agreed on the numbers over phone and email, while other dealerships offered explicitly higher prices. It took me only 1.5 hours from stepping into the dealership to finishing the contract. Both salesman and finance manager were very friendly and didn’t play any tricks to raise the payment (which I experienced in other dealerships). Otis also patiently offered detailed instructions about the vehicle. I would highly recommend him.

I went in because Serramonte VW had by far the best terms for a e-​Golf lease. I worked with Amir and Dave and was able to iron out a deal in less than an hour. The entire process was painless and the people I dealt with were all up-​front and very polite. Amir is genuinely concerned about his customers. Thanks!

Just drove home with my new GTI!
I first got an e-​price quote from the website. When we got to the dealership, Amir helped us with our pricing. He is very nice salesmen. He wasn’t pushy at all; let us work out the numbers. Yes, at first we were faced with the same 4 square sheet, but very soon we moved into the break-​down sheet. Amir really did go to the lengths to get us the numbers we wanted. I was actually a little surprised the amount he was able to get us for my trade-​in (remember, a dealer trade-​in price). Soon after we came to an agreement and we signed the paperwork! Amir also took time to help us with everything the car has to offer!
In short: great experience, not pushy, Amir was very knowledgable.

I initially went here to test drive and hopefully purchase a car. I spent 30 minutes on the lot before anyone would help me, despite asking multiple people who were standing around. When they finally sent someone over, the sales guy was incredibly unhelpful, was reluctant to even let me sit in any of the cars and didn’t offer to let me test drive the car. That same weekend I went to another Volkswagen dealership and purchased a car.
Flash forward months later, I made the stupid mistake of getting my car serviced here because of their proximity to where I live. My engine light was on, and I called them multiple times to talk to someone before I brought my car in. Their phone system is an endless loop of talking to the person who answers the phone, being transfered to the service department, and leaving voicemails that go unanswered since no one picks up the phone. I ended up booking an appointment online because I was never able to speak to an actual person.
I brought my car in and took the complimentary shuttle to my office. They made it very clear that their shuttle does not run after 5 and they would call me around noon with an update. I never received a call and called them mid-​afternoon and once again got stuck in the endless loop of not being able to talk to anyone. I called multiple times that afternoon, first trying to get an update and then trying to just get the shuttle to pick me up and no one returned my calls. I had to get a ride from someone else and at 5 o’clock on the dot they texted me an update that my car was ready… conveniently after the shuttle stopped running.
When I went to pick up my car they told me I had carbon backfire and the fix was to put an additive in my gas tank. They didn’t offer to put the additive in, or even sell me a bottle of it. Instead they charged me $ 150 to hook my car up to the computer and turn my engine light off.
Two weeks and one bottle of additive later, my engine light was back on. I took my car in to another Volkswagen dealership and they called me back an hour later identifying the problem and offering a SOLUTION. They told me that the engine had carbon buildup and the solution is to scrape the carbon off the engine to clear it out. NO BOTTLE OF ADDITIVE WILL CLEAN IT. They cleaned my engine the same day and I haven’t had a problem since.
If you want to save money and actually get your car fixed, do yourself a favor and go to any other Volkswagen dealership!

Worked with Evan to buy a Golf TDI shortly before the scandal broke. +1 star for Evan’s great service, and the price I got for my car (if we just ignore dieselgate for the purposes of this review).
–3 stars for the rest of the sexist staff that I’ve had the misfortune of working with.
Every interaction I’ve had with the older men that staff this place have left me fuming.
Yes, I do know what the Golf R is, and yes, I do want to test drive it. Yes, I do know that the TDI is diesel and the TSI is gas, which is why I asked to test drive these by name. Yes, I am pretty certain that I know more about all of these cars’ engines than you do considering I studied mechanical engineering – this is shocking to you, isn’t it? No, I will not notify you when I come back to purchase a vehicle.
No, I do not appreciate you condescendingly calling me «young lady» when I’m trying to get my car serviced. And yes, I am very sure that it shouldn’t take you multiple hours to do a courtesy check up on a car that is brand new. Speaking of, I can infer from your not-​so-​subtle mumbles to the mechanics and the fact that the interior of my car is very hot when I finally get it back that it was sitting and waiting to be returned to me for almost an hour before you finally gave me my keys. No, I’m not some stay-​at-​home wife who has nowhere better to be than your infuriating car dealership, and yes, I have a job I need to get back to.
Thanks for forcing me to find a less convenient location to service my car so I don’t have to deal with your sexist BS anymore.

Just wanted to give a great shout out to Amir and David N for getting me into a sporty SEL White Jetta today. The process was easy and pleasant and they worked with me to meet my pricing expectations.
This is my second lease with Serramonte Volkswagon. Cool car, nicely detailed for me with a full tank of gas. I highly recommend them.

I’m the type of guy who doesn’t like sales to be pushed on me. In the last year, we got 2 cars through Avi Mesher from Internet Sales.
I appreciate that Avi’s friendly and personable, and that he’s a patient guy. He owns a Golf R himself, so he’s got driver cred.
Avi once took the time to take me out to test drive even though I was clear that I wasn’t committed to changing out the ol’ GTI just yet. He then took the time to write up an email detailing the drive-​away costs on that lease, making it easy for my wife and I to figure out what we had to pay. This beats the usual confusion that accompanies the buying process.
If we had to go get another car, we would look for Avi for sure. If you’re looking for him, be sure to drop him an email or make contact via the web page.
At our last trip to Serramonte VW, we also worked with Evan on the final closing negotiations and that was actually a *positive experience*.
Evan’s not intimidating like other many other closers are. He worked with our goals and presented options for our consideration. He also helped us understand how the offer was structured, and we found him to be respectful and reasonable.
Finally, Jason Kim in Finance was also very efficient. He had all the paperwork assembled before we stepped in, and explained each document to us as we signed. We were in and out of his office in under 10 minutes.

I LOVE MY NEW CAR! I’ve been shopping around, mostly online, for over a month. Finally, my mom and I decided to just drive by the lot. Rilee Archer, a sales rep, casually approached us and answered all our questions. He was knowledgeable about the cars, as well as other important car buying considerations (mileage, insurance, parking). I felt really comfortable making my decision and he gave me lots of time to chew the deal over with my family. Most importantly once I was committed the whole VW team did everything they could to insure I would walk away with a deal that wouldn’t break my budget, which was hard considering my low credit.
I am so happy and thankful to have my new beetle! 5 Stars all the way :)

One word. INCOMPETENT. Negotiated for a Sportwagen on the Friday before Halloween to use the VW Customer Loyalty Bonus and put down a down-​payment to lock in the car. Came back the next day to finish the paperwork and got the runaround. I was told by the floor manager they were having trouble reaching the «port» to confirm the car I had selected. I left with assurances that they’d call me but didn’t hear from them until I chased them down. Finally told on SUNDAY evening by the salesperson I originally dealt with that they couldn’t secure the car we negotiated. This time Serramonte VW blamed another dealership for not cooperating with them.
They gave me back my down-​payment without any problems, so they aren’t crooks, but their delay tactics and inability to close the deal cost me the $ 2000 Customer Loyalty Bonus since the incentive ended the next day.
TLDR; there are too many other VW dealerships in the Bay area to waste time with these guys.

I just was once again amazed by the great service and in-​depth customer care of a great sales person Amir Momeni. I just leased another VW today with the best deal possible thanks to the hard work of Amir and his team. His great service, his tactful attention to the details of what we wanted and needed in a car and especially his dedication in getting us the best deal with the best value are high qualities that are very rarely found in a sales person and are the reason I keep coming to Serramonte VW.
If visiting this location, I highly recommend asking for Amir and I guarantee a full satisfaction of service plus walking out with a sincere smile.

UPDATE: The general manager reached out to me soon after I posted this and offered to work directly with me to get the problem resolved and address the issues I mentioned. I’m very impressed.

Terrible experience with the service department. Left a message, no one called back. I called the next day and it literally took me five calls to actually talk to a service advisor. This is after being hung up on and transferred to Subaru sales twice. (One time I was on hold for ten minutes before I found out.)
When I finally got someone on the phone, it wasn’t which better. My car is having the same warranty issue that they’ve already tried to fix once. I have an app that can read the fault codes through the OBD port, so I know what the problem is, and it’s the same one as last time. But they «don’t do diagnostics on Saturdays,» which means to get this fixed, I have to rent a car for my wife and son to drive, miss a day of work myself and take the car in on a weekday.
Yet another time when a dealer service department treats customers like a nuisance. This is my third VW, and I’ve stood by them through a lot of bad stuff, but service departments like Serramonte VW’s do the brand as much harm as the bad reliability issues of the early 2000s and the recent diesel shenanigans.

been through multiple vw dealerships for service throughout california, but serramonte fell short… made an appointment for early morning service (first slot), but few cars were already waiting for the service department to open… service advisors slowly came out and started taking down information and bringing customers in… others had not made an appointment, but still taking the cars in the order they arrived… it was the longest wait for an oil change… the waiting area and inside the dealership is infested with flies… the parts department is almost always empty with no staffing… saw lot of frustrated customers just waiting at the parts counter… why make an appointment if they are going to service the cars in the order they arrive and not by appointment… oil change was done after an eternal wait and car wasn’t washed… every vw dealership i’ve experienced washed the car…
