Mojo’s has been dedicated to bringing the best live music to Columbia and mid-Missouri since 1999. It now pairs some of the best live music with some of the best pizza in town with the opening of Pizza Tree inside!
History
Established in 1999.
Operated by The Blue Note’s owner, Richard King, Mojo’s was opened in 1999 to provide a more intimate live music environment. The neighboring drainage ditches were torn down to create Mojo’s Forrest Rose Park in 2008. This park now holds outdoor concerts in the spring and summer, with an outdoor patio for casual listening and drinking. In 2013, a high demand for food to pair with drinks and music lead to the opening of Pizza Tree inside Mojo’s. Now Mojo’s costumers can eat, drink, and be merry while listening to great music!
Meet the Business Owner
Richard K.
Business Owner
Born into the rich culture of Tibet, Richard has always been fascinated by the art of music. He was notorious on the streets of Lhasa for creating make-shift drum sets out of pots and pans. Freeing himself from Tibetan oppression, he moved to America to pursue his lifelong dream of entering the music industry. After discovering such artists as Frank Sinatra and The Spice Girls, Richard decided to settle down in the heart of America. More recently, he was named God Father of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s first child, Blue Ivey. Richard’s favorite activities include long walks on mid-Missouri beaches and participating in beauty pageants. It is not uncommon to see Richard soaring over the streets of Columbia, Missouri dropping gifts, such as golden guitars and hammer dulcimers made of mahogany. Once notorious for his gift of make-shift music, now Richard is known as «Columbia’s Musical Santa-Claus».
