A-1 Express Shuttle

Their website chart of fees has been out of date for over a year. For me the shown fee of $ 35.00 is $ 45.00.
Never been late for a departure yet.

Booked a private shuttle to take me from the Oakland Airport to my home for $ 85.
My list of complains is long:
1) The dispatcher was rude on the phone (should have cancelled then).
2) I arrive at airport and call (as instructed) and was told that the private shuttle was going to be 20minutes late (this is at 9:30 pm).
3) Shuttle arrives and there is another (very nice and very taken advantage of) group in the «private shuttle»
4) BTW — The private shuttle is a beat up, white minivan with a broken front seat belt (the seat belt was chipped and although it clicked, was in serious need of repair)
5) Was told that I would be dropped off first, but the other family had a (unfortunate) emergency and would need to be dropped off first (would extend my private trip by 20 minutes). When I protested, the dispatcher told the driver to drop me off first (which is unfair to the other family that was also told that they were in a private shuttle).
6) The Driver was unable to do anything as it was not his shuttle. The dispatcher was rude to him, myself and very rude to the other family (he hung up on them, after they complained that they were on their way to visit a sick family member in the hospital). Guy was a jerk.
7) «Discounted» rate for the (no longer) private shuttle was now $ 60. The average rate for a private shuttle from Airport to my house is $ 65.
8) I finally told the driver to just drop me off at Walnut Creek BART, as I didn’t want to deal with this tomfoolery of this shuttle service. I gave the Driver $ 50 (plus a $ 5 tip because the driver was nice and it wasn’t his fault) instead of $ 60 to partially cover the cost of the cab to take me from BART to my house ($ 20).
Side Note — the nice cab driver, driving a clean minivan said he would charge me $ 65 for a private ride from the Oakland Airport to my house and would be there on time.
As much as I felt slighted, the other family got a much worse deal. They had to pay the $ 85 charge plus a $ 30 charge for an earlier pick up (they came in early to see their sick relative) plus had to pick me up at Oakland (they were coming in from SFO). I would love to see their review.
Find any other shuttle service or pay a cab. A1 is not the way to go.

Prepaid for several friends and family flying in from all over the country to Clayton Ca (Aug 2013). Started off great with a nice guy on the phone. then it went very, very bad :(Calling for another ride to SFO, the guy that answered was a very-​angry man on the phone .he was not nice or friendly, or remotely helpful when we needed another person driven to the airport. Very bizarre… actually yelled at me, my Aunt and another friend who all called thinking I must have called the wrong number. He also was charging way more than was charged for the previous 2 trips and yelled… almost screamed, that he was the owner and that was the price! We used West coast limo for the third trip (the other 2 were already prepaid). There was No problem with the drivers we had… but would never consider this company again! Beware, unstable owner.

When I ordered a car to take me to the airport, this company arrived. I come to find out that I was subcontracted to him by another company that I originally hired, without my knowledge. I told them that I needed to be at the airport by a specific time and schedule it accordingly. The night before my flight, they called to confirm my pickup. At that time they stated that the time I had agreed when I made my reservation would not work for them, that they needed to come thirty minutes earlier. So now I have thirty minutes longer to sit at the airport and do nothing. Then the morning of, he came knocking on my door thirty minutes earlier than the early time. So now he is at my door an hour before I originally wanted and I had not finished my packing or tying up my loose ends.
When I got in the old rickety smelly shuttle, which was not the private car, there were two other passengers in the back. I was told that he needed to get me so early, because they had to make their flight. Since their flight left an hour before I did, I asked if he would take them to SFO, then double back to OAK for me, so that I didn’t have such a long wait. He called his dispatcher and apparently they got in an altercation on the phone. He then proceeded to tell me what a jerk the dispatcher was and that he was in a bad mood. I arrived at the airport three hours before my flight was supposed to leave and had to sit. I promptly told him to cancel the return that I had booked and that I would not be using them in the future.

I was referred by my favor shuttle, since my old shuttle does not go to SFO no more. A1 shuttle was unexpected «awful»! they told me to pay for the round trip from my residence to SFO. when i flew back yesterday (⁷⁄₁₃), SFO did not allow any plane to land due to bad weather (fog). i called them in advance about the delay. when i arrived the SFO at 11:30 pm, the guy told me it was all my fault that i arrived late so there is no shuttle to pick up. he said they don’t have any shuttle after 11:00 pm! I was so shocked! i told him i paid the round trip already and it was not my fault that SFO weather got bad. he did not care and we kept going back and forth! this is the worst shuttle i ever been! if you are unlucky got delayed, go and take a taxi! (that is what i did at the late night paying $ 242 one way!) this is the shuttle NOT for anyone if your flight is delayed! i wish i could put ‘no star” but Unilocal would not let me!

My family used this shuttle service from Walnut Creek to SFO and also booked for our return from SFO to Walnut Creek. When I booked the round trip service, Fred told me that I need to call them to confirm our pick up from SFO. I told him that the country we are going to and US has 16 hour difference and I would like to confirm everything already since he wants me to pay cash and pay for the 2 trips. Fred told me that their service is 24 hrs and don’t have to worry about the time difference because somebody would assist me when I call. From Walnut Creek to SFO, driver was 2 hours late picking us up and we need to pick up a couple also going to SFO. The driver and Fred had conflicting reasons why driver was late. It’s a good thing there was no traffic so made it to the airport. Now, we needed to call them to confirm our pick up. It was early evening in the place where we are and Fred answered the call. He told me to call back at 8 AM because it’s early am here. I then reminded him that he told me I could call anytime but it seems that he is so sleepy at that time. I told him if he could just write down my name, airport to pick up, date and time we would be done. He insisted on me calling back and Fred was even verbally abusive, calling me stupid. I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE. Driver Kenney was nice and honest. FRED-​WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. HE SHOULD NOT BE DOING BUSINESS.

Recently used A-​1 for a 3:45 AM departing flight. Not a problem for these guys. After I was already gone & on my vacation, airline CHANGED my return flight to midnight on Sunday night. I was worried I wouldn’t have a ride home from Oakland on such short notice to A-​1. They p/​me up anyway — there was a driver already waiting at the airport when I arrived. I’ll be using A1 from now on.
