Stumbled on this place on accident while walking down Main Street looking for a place to grab a coffee in Concord recently. Ended up trying Avalanche Bark(white chocolate melted with peanut butter and then mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips stirred in) was seriously unbelievable. I had never heard of it until I got home and Googled it and found a recipe. I’m going to try and make it, but this was seriously delicious. Not sure if i can re-make it… The woman who waited on us — not sure if she’s the owner or not — was overly friendly and nice. She made a fresh pot of coffee just for us. We did get two dark chocolate beat butter balls and I’ve had better homemade. Apparently they’re famous for their apples, which I’d love to try next… everything in the case looked awesome!

I know That Other Chocolate Place(not its real name) has the reputation for being the best in town, but I don’t agree — I *LOVE* this little shop right on Main Street! The owner has creative ideas and really good taste(and the chocolate doesn’t almost break your tooth like at That Other Place). I especially love her sugar-free peanut butter cup, and she doesn’t make her sugar-free fudge often enough for me. I hope this one’s around for a long, long time.

I never discovered the joys of the candy apple until I visited A Little Confection. My friends and I LOVE this place. The lady who runs it is the sweetest person ever, and I think I’ve been going there a bit too often since she recognizes me now… It was a cold winter night when I first stepped into this humble abode. The smell of warm caramel and chocolate was overpowering. That was the day I ordered the Apple Pie Candy Apple — a caramel coated apple with white chocolate and pie crust bits($ 7.50). The price of this apple is considerably cheaper than other gourmet candy apples I’ve had, which came as a surprise. What can I say? I think my weekly return to this shop explains everything. I love, love, LOVE A Little Confection. Everybody who hasn’t been there(especially Paulies) should stop by at least once while they are in Concord. It doesn’t boast the size or extravagance of Dylan’s Candy Bar, but it sure delivers food-wise.

Taking a stroll along Main Street in Downtown Concord on a nice sunny Friday evening, I spotted some delicious looking big cookies on display in the front window of A. Little Confection, located next door to Madeline’s. That was enough to get me in the door, sweeet! This place used to be Village Cucina, which served good sandwiches on the pricier side. As I walked inside this cozy shop, there was a nice display of big cookies and a good variety of big candy apples straight ahead. I was offered a sample of the apple pie candy apple, which was very delectible and divine. They also sell coffee drinks, candies, fudge, caramel popcorn, Gifford’s Ice Cream, and other treats. I decided on a Frozen Banana($ 2.25), a large peanut butter cup cookie($ 4.50), and some heart shaped chocolate covered marshmallows($ 0.50 on clearance). The frozen banana was hand dipped in chocolate and sooo good on a warm evening. The large cookie(sugar) was very firm and really loaded with lots of peanut butter(not sweet), chocolate, and a homemade peanut butter cup. This is the kind of cookie that’s really a heavy dessert in itself and went well with my iced coffee. I had a similar cookie at the Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory not too long ago. Next time, I am going to enjoy a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. As I was enjoying my treats outside in front, my coworker and his GF were enjoying their drafts on the Barley House patio close by and spotted me taking my pictures. He actually took his GF to A. Little Confection, about an hour before I arrived here and together they shared a big Cheesecake Candy Apple. They loved it! What a coincidence! A great little shop to stop at for candy apples before drinking, eh.
