The Crust & Crumb Baking Company features all real ingredients, using artisan and French techniques to allow for the most delicious fresh baked goods. We offers all types of baked goods ~ from artisan breads and breakfast pastries to fine desserts and European-style tortes. Our bread is baked fresh every morning and our selection of individual desserts, tarts, cookies, bars, and treats rotate on a regular basis.
We specialize in creating custom breads and pastries to meet our customers’ diverse needs, from single desserts, such as torte or cake, to large volumes for wholesale accounts or catering orders. We will work with you to create the exact item or package you want, and delivery is available.
History
Established in 2012.
The Crust and Crumb began with wholesale bread and dessert supply through a commercial kitchen space at Canterbury’s historic Shaker Village, supplying baked goods and treats for the Shaker Village farm stand, as well as the Canterbury Country Store. With further support from Concord Hospital, The Crust and Crumb’s treats began to appear for sale at the hospital’s gift shop, and business steadily grew. Through word of mouth and availability at several local farmer’s markets, including Canterbury, Contoocook, and Henniker, as well as strong interest in a «CSB» (Community Supported Bakery) program with several drop-off points, The Crust and Crumb’s growth soon necessitated a suitable retail location. With tremendous support from the greater Concord area, friends and family, and a few experienced local entrepreneurs, our retail store opened on Main St. in the Summer of 2012. We’re thrilled to be here and gracious for all the support!

Business Owner
Alison has been baking since she was a child, learning first from her family and later studying culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu. Her articles appear syndicated across the country via the Associated Press, where she has worked in recipe testing and development with J.M. Hirsch. An avid foodie and ardent supporter of locally sourced ingredients, Alison branched out to form The Crust and Crumb Baking Company in 2011, specializing in classic artisanal breads and fine desserts with an authentic home style touch.
